I tried lots of workarounds but in the end just switched to keeping notes in Ulysses and bibliography in Zotero. Ulysses is a writing program but it's as powerful at tagging as Zotero. When I did work in Zotero I'd make a saved search on tags + It…

Many thanks, Dan. It was a time-sensitive question for me at the time. Just a response (from anyone connected to the project) saying that the problem won't be fixed for a while is helpful. I have moved to iOS for writing and it is useful to know, fr…

Dan, why did you ask me to write this up if you weren't going to reply? I'm very busy, writing this was just a waste of my time.

1) along with full-text content currently only searches title, creator, and year What's full-text then? Attachments only? Does it include notes and tags?
-
So then if i do full-text search on the website + tag limit, shouldn't Zotero find the same number of items as when I do a saved search on the same tag + quick search in the desktop interface? Instead, I find 35 top items online and 45 top items in …

How about Control-Click -> Duplicate Saved Search? I'd love this feature too.

Many thanks for the syncing improvements for large databases in Z 5.0. As part of 6.0 or later, is there any plan to create a mobile Zotero version? Currently on iPad, PaperShip can't handle large databases and the online library display is limite…

It happens in standalone Zotero, even when I have FF closed.
-
Yes perhaps Quick Copy style should be deleted. It's clear from this discussion that it's confusing for people.

Can you tell me any reazon why ZotFile freezes up Zotero for about 2 minutes after moving a file to the tablet folder? (I'm using the "create a link when moving" option). The file would sync to the folder, then to Dropbox, then I would sync and open…

Any chance MLZ features will be included in a future version of Zotero? (3) You can install MLZ, and again add "ja" in the Language field of your Japanese entries. MLZ will behave the same as Zotero 3.0 on your current content, but will allow you to…

Please include Archive and Loc. in Archive as well. Repository and Call Number are already included, why not archival fields?
-
Unpublished archival sources are cited with Chicago Full Note with Bibliography correctly--use Manuscript or Letter item type. Published sources such as books or articles usually don't needs archival information. In Zotero, archival info was omitted…

Penn State in general follows Chicago as well, and even allows authors to choose their own: "In general, the Press follows the Chicago Manual of Style (15th edition) and the first spellings and hyphenation in Webster's Third New International Dicti…

Here are manuscript submission guidelines from Yale University Press: "For matters of style, including capitalization, abbreviation, notes, and bibliography, consult The Chicago Manual of Style, 15th ed. Spelling, hyphenation, and punctuation shoul…

And FWIW, from my own perspective, a manuscript is just an unpublished document. Right. "Manuscript" should work for pretty much any odd unpublished source you could find in historical archives.

Archival info for book and article item type have been excluded from citations when repository and archive were the same field in Zotero so not to include library catalog info for books. This has been fixed for a while, so we should go ahead and inc…

Please add place of publication field to the list. (Use case: researching when translations of a given book were published in different countries.)

Make a saved search: Date modified [is in the last] x days Item type=note It will still sort by parent item but you'll see the recently modified notes easily.

@adam.domby Your first example is from a microform edition, which should be cited as a book, as per CMS 16 (http://0-www.chicagomanualofstyle.org.mercury.concordia.ca/16/ch14/ch14_sec120.html ) "Works issued commercially in microform editions, incl…

The easiest way to do this manually is to create collections or saved searches (with tags) for each section of the bibliography, then generate bibliographies from collections and paste them together in the end of the document.

If these changes happen, it would be nice to keep a preference option for the current way the tab works.
-
@f.figari: thanks.
-
@adamsmith fbennett fixed it (thanks!). I will look over the Chicago styles this weekend to see what else is not working, if anything. The SBL style is based on Chicago and will need to be changed also.

How do people manage to open Z in a tab automatically on restart? I've been trying to make that happen, but it doesn't work for me. I also asked about this on another thread: Would it be possible to create a shortcut for "Create New Item from Curr…
-
@fbennett: yes this was added for multivolume books only
-
@adamsmith I can do this if you like, to make sure that everything else is working--let me know if you already fixed it.
-
It would also be great to have a preference to open Z in a tab automatically when you restart Firefox--or does this already exist somewhere? The tab mode works great by the way--many thanks.

Would it be possible to create a shortcut for "Create New Item from Current Page"? I know people have asked for this before, but this seems especially necessary in the tab mode. Currently I have to click on shift/command/z to get to the Z tab, the…
