Here are manuscript submission guidelines from Yale University Press: "For matters of style, including capitalization, abbreviation, notes, and bibliography, consult The Chicago Manual of Style, 15th ed. Spelling, hyphenation, and punctuation shoul…

And FWIW, from my own perspective, a manuscript is just an unpublished document. Right. "Manuscript" should work for pretty much any odd unpublished source you could find in historical archives.

Archival info for book and article item type have been excluded from citations when repository and archive were the same field in Zotero so not to include library catalog info for books. This has been fixed for a while, so we should go ahead and inc…

Please add place of publication field to the list. (Use case: researching when translations of a given book were published in different countries.)
-
Make a saved search: Date modified [is in the last] x days Item type=note It will still sort by parent item but you'll see the recently modified notes easily.

@adam.domby Your first example is from a microform edition, which should be cited as a book, as per CMS 16 (http://0-www.chicagomanualofstyle.org.mercury.concordia.ca/16/ch14/ch14_sec120.html ) "Works issued commercially in microform editions, incl…

The easiest way to do this manually is to create collections or saved searches (with tags) for each section of the bibliography, then generate bibliographies from collections and paste them together in the end of the document.

If these changes happen, it would be nice to keep a preference option for the current way the tab works.
-
@f.figari: thanks.
-
@adamsmith fbennett fixed it (thanks!). I will look over the Chicago styles this weekend to see what else is not working, if anything. The SBL style is based on Chicago and will need to be changed also.

How do people manage to open Z in a tab automatically on restart? I've been trying to make that happen, but it doesn't work for me. I also asked about this on another thread: Would it be possible to create a shortcut for "Create New Item from Curr…
-
@fbennett: yes this was added for multivolume books only
-
@adamsmith I can do this if you like, to make sure that everything else is working--let me know if you already fixed it.
-
It would also be great to have a preference to open Z in a tab automatically when you restart Firefox--or does this already exist somewhere? The tab mode works great by the way--many thanks.
-
Would it be possible to create a shortcut for "Create New Item from Current Page"? I know people have asked for this before, but this seems especially necessary in the tab mode. Currently I have to click on shift/command/z to get to the Z tab, the…

It works beautifully--thanks!

Ok, I would like to report that my library of 17411 parent items (30968 total) synced successfully after I upgraded to Firefox 4. It took several tries over two days, and I had to restart the browser and the computer a few times after errors. But I …

Also, if the author could be automatically converted from all caps to title case, it would be great. Sorry for so many requests--many thanks!
-
@ajlyon Any chance you can also test for date=null? Readability doesn't always extract the date, and currently Z gives an error if there is no date.
-
Ok, thanks. I'll let you know how it goes.

Any update on syncing large databases? I'm moving to a new project and am considering archiving most records from my previous project to trim down the DB. I currently have 41809 items; zotero.sqlite is 666.4 MB; my storage folder is 21.56 GB. I coul…

Right. This should be easy to add I think since it already works for "is" searches.
-
If you do an "is" (as opposed to "contains") search you'll get case-sensitive results. All advanced searches are phrase searches I think.
-
Well Archive should be many-to-one in relation to the item, but Archive Location should be one-to-one in relation to Archive (and should be linked to a particular archive). Archive Location is only for Box nos, etc., which are locations within a par…

We separated "Archive" from "Catalogue" for a good reason (https://www.zotero.org/trac/ticket/853 https://www.zotero.org/trac/changeset/5701 ). Please don't change it back. It has to do with citing archival sources.
-
@ajlyon: if you're still editing, can you test for author=null? z gives me an error when article has no author.
-
@ajlyon: Many thanks!

Maybe a related issue--Zotero remembers different saved search folders in tab and non-tab mode. For example, I work in folder A in non-tab, then switch to tab and move to folder B. Then I switch to non-tab: I'm back in folder A; work some more, swit…

What about the archival collection type? Here are discussion and ticket: https://www.zotero.org/trac/ticket/661 https://www.zotero.org/trac/ticket/1023 http://forums.zotero.org/discussion/2981/styling-archival-material/ http://forums.zotero.org/dis…
