your first issue works in regular Zotero now. The second issue still doesn't, though we could probably fix this (why would there be a space between the character and the letter, though? That just seems wrong). I may have seen such a case in the wild…

@aurimas, does https://github.com/ZotPlus/zotero-better-bibtex address these issues? How stable is it at this point?

"the ISSN isn't uncommon for conference paper": Interesting, but the conference paper item type only supports ISBN at present. "we also need separate dates for conference and publication": This would be great. Also location of conference vs. place …

OK, yes, volume-title would be more appropriate. I figured it should be cited as a journal rather than a conference paper because it has an ISSN, not an ISBN, and because the publication date is two years later than the date of the conference.

What is the best way to handle journals that have a title associated with each volume (e.g., here)? Should the volume-specific title go in one of the series fields?

If I create an entry with "Hajič" (the combining hacek), exporting it to BibTeX gives "Hajic?". But with "Hajič" (precomposed c with hacek), it exports properly as "Haji\v{c}".

A related issue I have encountered is that the BibTeX exporter supports precomposed characters, but not composing diacritics. For instance the names on http://www.ldc.upenn.edu/Catalog/catalogEntry.jsp?catalogId=LDC2012T08 need to be normalized to t…

Even if the supported way is the preferred BibTeX practice, that convention is sufficiently arcane that as long as the BibTeX compiler supports the other way, people will use it. Here are some examples in the wild: http://ufal.mff.cuni.cz/pcedt2.0/…

This is still a headache for me. Any progress?

@adamsmith: Fixed it. Thanks!

A fixed version of the translator that works for me: https://gist.github.com/3134386

Storing quotations/excerpts in a structured way with locator information (e.g. chapter, page numbers) within the work would indeed be quite useful. Have there been any recent developments on this front? (cf. http://forums.zotero.org/discussion/210/…

Finally - this is just aesthetics, right? Bibtex should get the citations correctly regardless. In theory, it ought to. But the BibTeX stylesheets used by some publications do not handle these cases properly. If this is not a common problem, I unde…

(I realize there's a preference for including URLs for journal articles, etc. It would be nice to have it in the export dialog as well for those of us who switch among multiple BibTeX conventions.)

This appears to work for the papers in JMLR proper, but not for conference proceedings published by JMLR, which have "proceedings" in the URL: http://jmlr.csail.mit.edu/proceedings/papers/v15/ http://jmlr.csail.mit.edu/proceedings/papers/v15/…

The pref is exactly what I wanted. Thanks!

Got it, thanks!

I'm not getting the updated translator. Did you forget to change the lastUpdated date? :)

Thanks for this feature! Unfortunately I receive an error when attempting to export items of the Report or Presentation type to COinS—is this by design, or a bug?
-
Thanks @ajlyon—cf. http://forums.zotero.org/discussion/510/export-to-clipboard-instead-of-file/ (also about clipboard export functionality).
-
I was looking to do this too and found this thread: http://forums.zotero.org/discussion/3297/export-to-clipboard/ This makes it easier, though I wish there could be a special option for BibTeX—I use the export utility to convert to a human-read…

http://www.lib.uwo.ca/music/citemus.html and http://www2.lib.virginia.edu/music/research/citation.html discuss citation conventions for music. In their examples I can only find the key/instrumentation mentioned in naming the piece or describing the …
-
@ajlyon: I'm not a musicologist (or a librarian), but here are some thoughts: I think "arranger" would need to be an additional creator role (as well as "composer", "lyricist", "librettist"). Additional fields: "instrument" or "instrumentation", e…

Yes—disabling all extensions, then re-enabling only Zotero, doesn't help.

I'm getting the same error (I only use one computer, which runs Mac OS 10.6). Report ID: 119168143 My Library appears as empty on zotero.org, and the page for my group libraries displays an error.

I did a full sync with 2.0b7.2 and everything seems to be working normally. Thanks!

The debug ID is D1586206935.

For the record, the problem persists with b7.1. New report ID: 1758167927

I agree--I was resorting to my own markup system for notes when including excerpts with italics and other formatting. This is a great improvement! A few minor improvements I would like to see: 1. Formatting support in the Web view of notes…

I, too, am eager to use Zotero in conjunction with BibTeX. I've noticed two bugs when importing from .bib files: 1. For @incollection (and possibly other citation types), editors are imported as authors. 2. In TeX the double hyphen (--) re…
