Thanks @damnation. This answers my question (not possible to invent variables), but unfortunately I'm not closer to solving my problem. The specific UN formatting is triggered by the author/publisher being the UN, not by item type. This is why I'm…

Why not use "nbsp" [html code for non-breaking space] in the csl style? Will this work?
-
I can replicate it in a fresh word doc. I don't have access to gist from work (blocked, for my safety, aparently). Here it is in dropbox: http://dl.dropbox.com/u/258390/Exported%20Items.rdf The same error happens in Chicago (author-date)…

By the way, I'm running FF 5, and Word 2007. Any compatibility issues?

The field codes don't reveal anything: ADDIN ZOTERO_ITEM {"citationID":"1t8sumh33k","citationItems":[{"uri":["http://zotero.org/groups/43781/items/7C36IJJD"]}]}} ADDIN ZOTERO_ITEM {"citationID":"5cptuhnii","citationItems":[{"uri":["http://zotero…

The thing is, it has been working 100% until today. And I only cancelled after entering the password about 15 times (the window kept popping out). This does sound like a FF issue, not zotero. I'll keep testing. thanks.

Great news!! Thanks!
-
Thank you for looking into the issue. Unfortunately, we have zotero deployed across the institution. We trained staff on its use and set up the editorial division's workflow to adjust to inputs that use zotero. While the proposed solution might work…

@fbennet, Looking at the test cases, looks like there is one done by you that looks at this bug: http://bitbucket.org/bdarcus/citeproc-test/src/tip/processor-tests/humans/bugreports_OldMhraDisambiguationFailure.txt edit: another: http://…

I'd be glad to do what needs to be done, but I would have to learn how to do a test case. It doesn't look quick. Is there a way to just rework an existing test? From what adamsmith wrote it is just a problem of reversing the bibliography order.…

Part of me wants to rework the entire thing based on Chicago MLA (it looks very clean). The style I'm working on is complex. The UN has some weird rules. We have most of it working, but this error is a deal breaker (I just found it while we sta…

Weird. Its a dropbox public link, but looks like Win XP messed up the copy/paste: http://dl.dropbox.com/u/258390/UN_ECLAC_CEPAL-v4.1-EN.csl In any case, here it is in githup: http://gist.github.com/543014 I had tried uploading to gist.githu…

@fbennet: Just ran the style through the validator.nu page (as per the instructions) using the csl given here: http://www.zotero.org/support/dev/creating_citation_styles It validates fine. Don't know if its the 0.8.1 schema or not.

Thanks adam. I changed all the references to one-field option, but the problem remains (the disambiguation letter switches back and forth). I think it has to be my style because the same problem doesn't occur when I use Chicago Author-Date. I thin…

Any help with this?

Thanks! I never even considered that this was a possible feature. Learning something new every day....Gives me a reason to do a few other tweaks on the style, too. M-

Here is the style. http://gist.github.com/497211 I don't understand why anything in my style would affect the "et.al" code based on whether its on a footnote or not.
-
Looks like I posted in wrong section...will repost there...please ignore this one
-
Correction: The citation shows up fine _until_ a footnote. If it was called before the footnote, the footnote will show it _incorrectly_. If the footnote is the first place where it shows, it will be correct but all subsequent citations are incorrec…

I did more testing. I think I found the bug. The reference shows up fine (with "et.al") up until it shows up the first time in the footnote (where it also shows up fine). All subsequent citations of that reference _don't_ show using "et.al". De…

bump. Proquest site translator doesn't seem to be working.

I reworked my delimiters to avoid using this method and to avoid the problem with creating a followed by a conditional (which breaks the conditional). I think I have this solved. On the issue of sentencecase, I was reading my output wrong, and it …
-
Weird, but it works in the wrong form, as does using the "sentencecase" instead of "sentence".
-
@ajlyon: "The delimiter change had to be made, since the delimiter attribute is not valid for statements." Are you sure? Removing it changes the output, and keeping it works well. Is this just a matter of good form? PS: sorry for completely hijac…
-
@ajlyon: Did you do the validation above agoinst the CSL 1.0 or the older 0.8? I'm just now reading about updating my CSL to the new version (which I'm assuming is in the current Zotero 2.0 engine).
-
On the issue of language, since the Spanish version is moditying english terms, should I add this line to both CSL's? Am I right to assume that this would force the CSL into english, regardless of what language the user's Firefox is set to?
-
@Rintze: "brazuca: if I'm writing an article in English, how would I tell Zotero to format the biblio in the same language? How would I swtich?" That doens't answer the question, though. Whatever my default language in Firefox, I need to choo…
-
@ajlyon: Thanks for looking at the code. I'll have the look at the delimiter change you made to see if it results in the correct output for all the cases. I know the whole thing is a mess. The issue of locales is confusing to me. AFAIK, the l…

Thanks for the info. How would I go about adding a style to the Repository? I don't have a CVS, but I do update it every few months as we work out the bugs. We are also planning on deploying this institution-wide, so it would be nice to have it…

While you guys are at it, can someone post the latest English and Spanish biblio styles for UN ECLAC? Also, what should I put for the
