I'm also interested in this. Any updates?

@gerald: It worked fine for me and its in the macro, so its quick and elegant. Now to get my locale terms done. PS: @adamsmith: if you look at the full code, you'll see 2 macros "onuventa" and "onusig" that are kludges. I had discuss…

That looks to have worked, thanks. Curious as to why... I started using Zotero for my own work at Cepal, and it got the attention of some people at editorial. The existing process for creating and formatting a bibliography is so convoluted, it …

Related problem. My code validates and shows the date just fine, but shows nothing if there is no date. Here is the entire style: http://pastie.org/871087 Here is the macro year-date: ----------- A…

Wow. Great job!

I will bring this to their attention. Maybe we can kill 2 birds with one stone. Thanks ajlyon.

Thanks. I can ask, but I'm basically the entire Zotero effort at my org. I wrote the csl style and am training editorial on how to manage the biblios with the authors. I would basically have to learn how to do the translator myself, which is why I w…

I have no access to the site, and I don't think adding unAPI or COinS would be done anytime soon even if they decided to do it today. This is the UN, after all. I will ask for it, though. Maybe when Zotero use is more universal they will get on boar…

I don't really know by whom, but as I matter of good practice, I try to follow the categories as they are commonly understood since by bibliografies are shared and are used in our official documents. We need the correct formatting for published vs. …

One could categorise it as a document, but AFAIK, document is reserved for published works, as opposed to a manuscript. These documents are definitely not publised (as they don't exist in the WTO documents repository), but are widely referenced and …
-
I think a valid one would be for WTO non-papers. They have no author and the manuscript type doesn't allow for an institution (only author). These documents don't have any author, as they are discussion documents, not-published, but widely reference…

Thanks for that. I wish something would be done because the United Nations has this weird bibliographic style that makes it completely non-portable (since there is UN-specific information such as "document signature" and "sales number") and hard to …

Thanks fbennett. This is what I think we'll have to do. It would be very useful, though, to have a few customized fields for users who might run into this. I could then specify "generic1" to be what I need in my style (right now I use the [ext…

@mronkko wouldn't it be easier to set up a "Smart Folder" in OSX? This way you wouldn't need a cron job.
-
@jwood, @adamsmith So to be clear: -right now I have my dropbox folder as my storage folder in zotero. This synchs both the library and the attached files. -I should then simply be able to turn on zotero library synch (by entering my zo…

I'm trying to start a shared library with some coworkers. I currently just have my zotero folder in my Dropbox. No Zotero sync yet. To set up a system to create shared folders, do I need to remove by library from Dropbox (to avoid it duplicatin…

Don't want to open a new topic: shouldn't NBER working papers be classified as [reports] instead of [journal articles]? Example: http://www.nber.org/papers/w9457 Clicking the icon on the url bar results in a [journal article]. Same thing happen…
-
I think you are right. I'll go back and review the logic of my Author and Title macros and I think I might be able to handle this case. I think report type might be best.
-
The reference I'm using is this: http://is.gd/3jMae But it could be any "working paper" type of publication such as World Bank, NBER, IMF, etc where there is no real "journal", just a numbered series of articles (e.g.: NBER has the Working Paper …

I was about to reference that link that noksagt posted. See if it works. I will test it soon also.

@adamsmith Yeah, but they are getting an earful from me about that. The thing is that the site is developed and maintained by a contractor in the UK. Not very responsive....

Would be great to have a translator for the United Nations ECLAC library: http://www.eclac.cl/biblioteca/default.asp I think the records are badly formatted, so I understand if this is not possible. Thanks!

Thanks!

@adamsmith: Could you update my previous style with this one? I fixed a few minor things. http://gist.github.com/179956 PS: I don't have a SVN account. Can I do this manually so I don't have to bother you?
-
@fbennett Great news then! I'll just wait for it when it comes out. PS: will the new CSL break existing styles?
-
@adamsmith: Could you upload this to the repository? The URL is invalid and I'm assuming the modification date will be updated automagically. git://gist.github.com/166692.git

@adamsmith and @fbennett: Indeed, our style guide requires the initial only for disambiguation purposes. So we are back to not having this capability in the current version. It is not a huge problem in the short run, but it would be hard to jus…
-
@adamsmith I see the author-short macro, but there is no option for placing the initial. That seems completely controlled by the engine, not the style. Am I wrong? Is there a short version of first name that I can place in a group?
-
I just checked with the editorial staff at my UN organization (ECLAC), and they require an initial *after* the last name, e.g.: (Goldin, I., 2007) and (Goldin, C., 2007) How do I change my .csl to move the initial after the last name?
-
@adamsmith: I would also like to upload a style I've been working on for our UN commission (ECLAC). It's a work-in-progress. What is the policy for uploading "draft" styles?
