Thanks!

Thanks! I tried to add the Firefox connector 5.0 via "Tools > Add-ons > Install Add-on from file" to Zotero Standalone. However, I get the error message that the Add-on cannot be installed because it may be incompatible with Zotero Standalone.…

For the 5.0 connectors, I would have to upgrade to zotero 5.0? BTW: Super excited for the zotero 5.0 release!

Hi: I experience the pdf save issue with sciencedirect while in on my uni's network. Site: http://www.sciencedirect.com/science/article/pii/S092911991500053X Report ID: 1315821484 Windows 10 x64 Zotero 4.0.28.7 Standalone Chrome Connector Any id…

Same issue here. Is a solution for this issue in the works? Thanks!

Hi: Is there an update on the "capitalize after colon" functionality? I just added 20 items, and had to manually capitalize after the colon. Really miss the function! Steve

It seems like "Actual Multiple Monitors (AMM)"--a program to create additional taskbars in a multi monitor setting--caused the excess CPU load. Once I deactivate AMM, zotero's CPU load goes to 0%. Thanks again for the help! Steve

Thanks so much for following up, Dan. I tried a couple more things this morning: 1) I checked the DB for errors but zotero reported "No error were found in the database" 2) I disabled all plugins under Tools > Add ons. 3) I disabled all extensio…

Hi: I also installed the newest version of zotero standalone on my wife's Windows 7 (x64) laptop. There also is constant CPU load when all 11,000+ zotero entries are shown. In addition, a colleague also has a large library with several thousand entr…

Hi there: Is there anything else that I can try to reduce the CPU load? Thanks! Steve
-
Aurimas: As a follow up, I was able to test Zotero with Firefox, and observe the same behavior: The Firefox process showing all zotero items in my library consumes around 6% CPU. Any idea how to solve this issue? Thanks again! Steve
-
Aurimas: Exactly as you thought! I inserted roughly half of my library in a collection, and the CPU load is roughly half (3%)! It seems the CPU load in idle goes up the more items are displayed. Steve
-
I just created a collection "Test" and moved all 11574 items into this collection (all I have in my library). Result: CPU load goes to 6%! So is the number of items displayed the problem? I heard of other people with larger libraries than mine... S…

Aurimas: Selecting an empty collection: 0% CPU Selecting a collection with 12 items: 0% CPU Selecting a collection with more items: 0% CPU So overall, zotero creates no CPU load when a collection is selected. Also, I have no Firefox on my PC. I ca…

Hi Dan: No, it doesn't go down to 0% with the tag selector closed. I don't think the tag selector is the main issue here. The soon as I search for anything and the search results are displayed, the CPU goes down to 0% (this also works if I use a "sa…
-
Aurimas: I completely collapsed the tag selector, in which case the CPU load is lower than if the tag selector is open. Thanks!
-
I reduce the tag selection pane normally. Now, if I expand the tag selection, the CPU load goes up to 7-8% from 6%!
-
I've found a way to reduce the CPU load to 0%: As soon as I search for an article (and the number of articles shown in Zotero is reduced), the CPU load goes to 0% as it should (b/c it's now idle). As soon I delete the search criteria, the CPU load …

Exactly, zotero doesn't seem to do anything (but I can see in the task manager that it uses 6% CPU; plus, my CPU vent is on constantly). Also, I enabled logging for 10 minutes and it logged 4 lines without me clicking anything: D2037785433. Maybe th…

New ID: D1802989767 However, zotero doesn't log anything if just standing there idle. I clicked on a reference to create some output but I'm not sure if that's helpful. Also, this is not a new computer + I have not added papers recently. Thanks! S…

Similar problem here. For a while now, Zotero uses 6% CPU when idle. I restarted zotero with debugging enabled: ID: D1282998452 Even after the restart, it's using 6% CPU. Thanks for any pointers! Steve

Adam: Thanks! I found the export format + when I select bibtex, I still cannot D&D into notepad or evernote. I tried further, and it seems D&D works when I drag the items (either reference or export format) into MS Word. Why would D&D wo…

Dear Dan: Yes, the error in the debug log also shows up after I restart zotero. D&D does not work but I can insert the reference in a text editor when I use ctrl+shift+c and then ctrl+v. Can someone confirm that D&D works on Windows? Than…
-
Thanks Dan: Instead of the drag and drop, I also tried to "ctrl+shift+c" and then paste into notepad. The debug ID for this is D136287219 (it shows the same JavaScript Error but when I press ctrl+v in notepad, it is inserted correctly.) Also, when…

Hi Dan: 1) Now I used one of the styles that comes with Zotero 2) Yes, in the attached debug ID, I created a new journal item with the title "test" and tried to drag and drop into notepad. Didn't work. 3) I disabled auto-sync, restarted Zotero, a…

Hi Dan: The Debug ID is: D1422613302 @Adam: This behavior is not evernote specific; it also happens in notepad. Thanks!
-
Thanks: I checked the export tab and a style is selected. However, I can't drag and drop. If I instead mark a reference and press Ctrl+Shift+C, I can copy the reference into evernote (or any other outside app). Any ideas?

Thanks! I'll be trying it out tomorrow!

Dan: Thanks! I just sent you an email. The only changes I made to the way I use zotero around this time frame (09/26 -- 10/26) was to try out the papershipapp, which I am no longer using. Are there any known issue with the app? Thanks! Steve
