mp1, try removing the icedtea6-plugin package (sudo apt-get remove icedtea6-plugin in the console or via Synaptic). smadhu, does the Java tester work for you?
-
It's a Firefox extension, not an OpenOffice extension.
-
You need to click "Preferences" next to Zotero OpenOffice Integration, not Zotero. If you don't see Zotero OpenOffice Integration in Tools->Add-ons->Extensions, you should re-install the plug-in.
-
stuartn, the IcedTea plug-in doesn't work with Zotero because it doesn't fully implement the API for a Java plug-in. My copy of SuSE 11.1 shows a java-1_6_0-sun-plugin package, which does work with Zotero. The icon issue may be independent (I don't…
-
mp1, that sounds right. Can you post an error ID? Also, under about:plugins, do you see "Java(TM) Plug-in 1.6.0_16" (and not "IcedTea Java Web Browser Plugin").
-
Rob, is the Zotero toolbar available under View->Toolbars?
-
mopi21, can you post a report ID? If you don't mind, it might also be useful if you could send the file to support@zot...org. The plug-in I posted above is only for Windows users (and specifically only for those experiencing dudukk's specific issue,…

Thanks for the error report. Alas, our testing confirms that PythonExt, upon which Zotero MacWord Integration depends, is not working properly on older PowerPC Macs. We're currently looking for a fix, and will keep you posted.
-
dudukk, I can't reproduce your issue, but based on the information you've given I may have fixed it. Would you mind trying out the trunk WinWord plug-in? You'll have to manually install the next WinWord plug-in when it's released.
-
estes, we think we've fixed this issue in the trunk MacWord plug-in, but we're not sure. Would you mind trying it out? You'll need to manually reinstall the MacWord plug-in when we release the next version.
-
zotomat, as I noted on your other thread, any issues with Word are entirely separate.
-
The OpenOffice Executable Directory should contain the "soffice" binary. That certainly isn't in /usr/bin by default on Ubuntu 9.04 (the extension should automatically pick up where it is if you click the "Detect OpenOffice Paths" button, at least i…

Can both of you provide error reports (after triggering this error) using the Report Errors feature?
-
ksvadlenak, I isolated your issue and a fix is now on the trunk. Thanks. dudukk, I think I have an idea where your issue might be now, although I can't replicate it myself. I'll try to come up with a fix for it, although you'll have to let me know …
-
zotomat, The issue is definitely separate from the OpenOffice issue (the error message is just a generic one, and the code that's producing it is completely separate) and there are no Zotero errors in that report. You have to trigger the error befo…

We can always use more files. The "Zotero experienced an error updating your document" message is pretty generic and we've already found several different causes at work in this thread.
-
bry, a screenshot would be useful (send to support@zot...org), but it would be even more useful if you could send a document exhibiting the issue along with it.
-
What exactly didn't work? Do you still get the same error message? Were the scripts not installed in Word (after restarting)? Do you get an error message when you try to use the scripts?
-
We just released plug-in version 3.0a3, which should fix this issue. Try going to Tools->Add-ons->Extensions and click "Find Updates." If you're still having issues, report back here.
-
dudukk, does the citation get inserted next to the text in a new doc? Does the citation get inserted next to the text if it has no accented characters?
-
krl and ksvadlenak, if you have a document exhibiting the issues that you can send to support@zot...org, that would be great. diomedia, can you post a report ID for this issue? corgeon, you are not using Word; please don't hijack other people's th…
-
The required version number is just a little too conservative. We'll fix this later today.
-
bry, what version of Zotero OpenOffice Integration are you running (check in Firefox->Tools->Add-ons->Extensions)? This should be fixed in 3.0a2.
-
We didn't update the version on the OOo oxt file because it didn't need any changes, although I now realize that might produce some confusion. All of the integration code now resides in Firefox; the extensions/scripts in Word/OOo are just very small…
-
Just press OK when the dialog appears.
-
Androcles, you need sun-java6-plugin to use Zotero with OpenOffice in Ubuntu (and you may have to uninstall icedtea6-plugin). If you have these packages, what do you see in the pink rectangle when you go to this page?
-
Yes, although if you want to share documents between Word and OpenOffice, you'll need to use Bookmarks mode (and Word format in OpenOffice).
-
Zotero OpenOffice Integration 3.0a2 is now available.
-
chinesephilosopher, do you have administrator privileges on your system? If so, there is an error with the permissions on these files. You can fix this by opening /Applications/Utilities/Terminal and pasting the following (verbatim; don't replace $U…

acavender, I'm not really sure what was causing the issue, but the next version of the MacWord plug-in will try another, more reliable method to determine if Word is installed before falling back on the current method.
