If you go to Tools->Add-ons->Extensions, click "Preferences" next to Zotero, uncheck "Automatically remember proxied resources", and remove any proxies from the list, you can disable Zotero's proxy features, which should fix your issues for no…

tricipitinus, if you don't mind, can you send your file to support@zot...org with a link to this post?
-
Jesse, There are no Zotero errors in there. Can you try selecting Report Errors again after triggering the message?
-
If you open the Zotero.dot file, do you see the Zotero buttons under Add-ins there?
-
mbruffey, what issues in particular are you experiencing, and with what OS and word processor? What you described in the other thread is by design, although I agree that a warning might be in order.
-
zotomat, you can send the document to support@zot...org, but I'm not sure if it will help us track down your issue. What might be more useful is if you could send us the temporary file that presumably contains your bibliography. This file should be …

If you don't mind, could you send your file to support@zot...org? We've fixed issue #2, and the fix will be available soon, but you're not the first to report issue #1 and we'd like to figure out what's behind it. Alternatively, if you don't feel co…

How did you adjust the security settings? Do the buttons work now? I'm not sure whether the BUILTIN\Administrators group should make a difference; it doesn't seem like it should. If you're still experiencing problems after changing the Firefox secu…

Do you know anything about how this document stopped working? Somehow, the Zotero plug-in seems to have triggered a bug in OpenOffice that corrupted a couple of ReferenceMarks in the document, but we're not exactly sure how. If you've got any additi…

if you see nothing under the Security tab, then it seems like, for whatever reason, Firefox is running with higher privileges than a normal application. If you right-click procexp and click "Run as Administrator" to open it, you might be to see the …

Thanks for the report. We've fixed this, and the fix should be available in the next release.

It should be safe to temporarily disable UAC for the time being. It does make your system a little less secure, so you might only want to do this when you're using Zotero, but UAC didn't exist prior to Windows XP, so as long as you have up-to-date a…

Can you take a screenshot of the entire error message and email it to support@zot...org, preferably along with your document?
-
Can you take a screenshot of the error message (hold down Command-Shift-4, then press space, then click the window) and email it to support@zot...org with a link to this thread? Also, if you don't mind, sending the document along might help us track…

Disabling User Account Control is still worth a try. If it works, then this is a permissions issue, which there are a variety of ways to narrow down. If not, then I'll need to think some more about what might be happening here.

Try disabling non-Zotero Firefox extensions. In particular, the MinimizeToTray extension is known to be incompatible.
-
I'm guessing that you probably have a Microsoft User Data directory in your Documents folder, and the Zotero scripts are probably getting installed in there. You can: 1) Delete the Microsoft User Data directory, if it's empty, and click the "Reinst…

Do you have a non-English version of Word installed?

Try going to Tools->Add-ons->Extensions, click "Preferences" next to Zotero MacWord Integration, and click "Reinstall Word Components". Do you get any kind of error message?
-
Great! Thanks for your help in tracking this down.
-
That gives us something to go on, at least. 1) Do you have any kind of security or antivirus software installed? If so, what happens if you (temporarily) disable it? 2) If disabling your security software doesn't work, what happens if you (again, t…

What OS and version of Firefox are you running?
-
Scott, that error should be unrelated to your Word-related issues. At this point, I'm about as puzzled as you are, but I'd really like to figure out what's going on here too. 1) What version of Word do you have? 2) Are you absolutely positive that …

Thomas, go to Word->Preferences->General and uncheck the "Confirm Conversions" box. In the next release, we'll make things work properly even when this box is checked, but this is an easy temporary fix.

You should be able to resize on Windows by grabbing the lower right corner, but there's no indication of that. We're at work on a fix.
-
You could try creating a new Firefox profile, reinstalling your extensions, and copying over your Zotero data directory from the old profile to the new profile.
-
Can a couple of you give the OpenOffice trunk XPI a try? It may or may not fix the problem, but if it doesn't, and if you can report back what the progress window says during the crash, it might help me track down exactly what's wrong. Note that you…

I was actually looking for an error report ID, not a debug ID; you can get this by selecting "Report Errors" from the cog menu.
-
If you exported and imported the library, you'll need to select each reference individually. You should only get the message once per reference (not once per citation), so this shouldn't be too difficult unless you have a very large reference list. …

If you upgrade, you shouldn't lose your data, at least as long as you're running Firefox 3 or later. (There was a bug in Firefox 2 that could lead to data corruption under certain circumstances.) Of course, it never hurts to back up first.
