If the plug-in installs successfully, you should be able to move Word back to where it was before, but I believe that it should function properly /Applications/Microsoft Office 2004.
-
The relevant part of that error report is Error calling method on NPObject! [plugin exception: java.lang.reflect.InvocationTargetException].' We've seen this before when the URE path was set incorrectly. If you type "locate ridl.jar" at the comman…

What OS version do you have and where is Word 2004? The MacWord plug-in will find Word if it's installed in /Applications/Microsoft Office 2004/Microsoft Word (the default install location) and is supposed to find it even if it's installed elsewhere…

What exactly is the initial error message upon install?
-
There is no Zotero plug-in for Word X for Mac. Zotero 1.0 supports Word 2004, while Zotero 2.0 supports both Word 2004 and Word 2008.

For whatever reason, all caps is turned on in that citation, which is why it's not being interpreted correctly. Try selecting it, going to Format->Font, and unchecking the "All Caps" box.
-
Just the citation should be fine. Thanks.

Can you try deleting those files again and then generating a report ID? There may be additional output there to help us track down the underlying issue. If you still can't select the menu option, then we're a bit stuck. Is there anything odd about y…

Can you copy and paste the problematic citation into a new document and email it to support@zot...org?
-
Try deleting the extensions.cache, compreg.dat, and xpti.dat files in your Firefox profile folder, and see if you see any output then.
-
Try closing Firefox, opening /Applications/Utilities/Terminal.app, and typing /Applications/Firefox.app/Contents/MacOS/firefoxThis should open Firefox. Then try inserting a citation again, and post whatever you see in the terminal window (if anythin…

If you want to wait a couple of days, I can try it on my Ubuntu box in VMWare (died a smoky death yesterday, but I should be able to test on Thursday). Otherwise, it's your best bet for the moment. I know that everything properly fine on a default U…

That looks right. I assume you've also tested Java and that it works, which leaves me a little puzzled. Have you tried the version of Firefox that ships with Ubuntu to see if the problem is restricted to Swiftfox?
-
None of these errors are particularly useful, but I suggest you try removing the IcedTea plug-in (icedtea6-plugin) if you haven't already. Alternatively, your paths might be wrong if you have multiple copies of OpenOffice.org installed; where did yo…

Sorry, I missed that. Can you also give a report ID?
-
Try starting Firefox from the command line and see if there's any output when you try to add a citation.
-
Have you checked Document Preferences to make sure that the References/Bookmarks setting is correct? (There should be a gray box around the citations if you're using ReferenceMarks; otherwise, you're using bookmarks.) If that doesn't work, go ahead …

theophile, try the OpenOffice trunk XPI. It may give you a slightly better indication of what's wrong.
-
Are you actually getting the same error as the first post in this thread? If so, try what I mentioned above. If Zotero isn't recognizing the references at all, you can try emailing the document to us at support@zot...org, but it's likely that the re…

We're doing our best to fix problems as they come up. Unfortunately, if we can't reproduce them, it's hard to track them down. Without a problematic document or a set of steps to produce an issue, there's not really any way to know what's causing it.
-
dnh, what do you mean by "all references are lost"?
-
Try the MacWord trunk XPI. This may fix things temporarily, but you should manually upgrade to 3.0a6 when it's released.
-
Are you getting an error dialog? If so, post the message in the dialog here. If not, try restarting Word and Firefox.
-
Are you getting a "An error occurred communigating with Zotero:" message as well? If so, post the first line of that here. If not, try generating a report ID.
-
Thanks for the file. It looks like you copy and pasted parts of the document, which caused OOo to create duplicate bookmarks. By pure chance, the old version of the OOo plug-in worked fine in this case, but the new version doesn't. We'll have a fix …

Yes, that's probably the issue. This is a bug in AppleScript, but we'll work around it in the next release. For now, if you rename your disk, everything should work properly.
-
Re 2: that's just the content of the script. You have to click "Run" at the top of the window to run it, and the output should appear in the lower pane.
-
You might see that message if you try that command with no document open in Word, but it's unrelated to the issue at hand.
-
bemisgeology, do you see an error message in a window? If so, could you send a screenshot of the message, preferably along with your document, to support@zot...org? Unfortunately, due to architectural constraints, the report ID alone can't help us d…

Huh. Try pasting this into the URL bar in Firefox: applescript://com.apple.scripteditor?action=new&script=alias%20((path%20to%20home%20folder%20as%20text)%20%26%20%22.zoteroIntegrationPipe%22)%0d%0ado%20shell%20script%20%22echo%20'MacWord2008%2…
