Yes, the problem is bookmarks. In Word, it's hard to know if you're typing in a bookmark, and there are a few cases where you can end up typing in a bookmark accidentally. Go to Insert->Bookmarks and select the option to sort by location. Double-…

Are you using fields or bookmarks?

What version of Zotero are you running? Are you able to generate a report ID?
-
Also, if these steps don't help, we will need you to provide a report ID.
-
What are your paths in Tools->Add-ons->Extensions->Zotero OpenOffice Integration->Preferences? If you don't have OpenOffice.org installed in a standard location, Zotero won't necessarily recognize it automatically, so you need to make su…

Can you re-trigger the error and generate a report ID?

Have you followed the steps on the word processor plug-in troubleshooting page?

Can you provide a report ID after re-triggering the error?

The version of Word is irrelevant. If you select a new item to replace the one with the corrupted field code, does the error disappear? Is Track Changes turned on?
-
What style are you using? Have you tried selecting a different one?

These instructions should be better. Follow the procedures for Word 2007; they should be the same.

I just took a look at the files you sent. Your references look fine, but I notice that the style sorts your bibliography by author, then title, then genre, and finally by year. If the two references with the same author and year don't come sequentia…

It would also be great if you could send the items themselves (exported as Zotero RDF).

Can you export two citations that don't get disambiguated properly and email them to support@zot...org?

What version of Zotero are you running?

I think I finally figured out what causes this. See here and let us know if it helps. (I don't actually have access to a Click-to-Run install, which explains why I couldn't reproduce this.)
-
helenelaurent, do you get an error message installing, do you not see anything in Word, or does the plug-in not work? If you see an error message stating that the plug-in could not be installed, we can almost certainly help you if you provide a rep…

This is a Zotero bug, but we have already fixed it in our developmental builds and the fix should be available in the next beta.
-
You have a scripting addition with the wrong architecture. We should probably just make Zotero ignore these errors, but for now, if you move /Library/ScriptingAdditions/Adobe Unit Types.osax elsewhere, the installation should complete successfully.
-
There are no Zotero errors in that error report. Try restarting your computer, and if that doesn't work, try the Install WinWord Integration 3.0 Branch XPI.
-
For many people, using Zotero 2.1 beta (where this should be fixed) might be a better idea than applying this patch.

The "somehow" is the hard part. We could potentially prompt users to delete the old proxy when they navigate to a website through a new one, but there is no way we'll ever be able to determine if a proxy has changed until a user accesses the new add…

Clicking the column header a second time switches the ordering for all columns. I don't think that this is too much to ask.
-
You can try installing the OpenOffice Integration 3.0 branch XPI, which theoretically supports tables, although it's not thoroughly tested.

Have you seen this? http://www.zotero.org/support/word_processor_plugin_troubleshooting#communication_error1

Can you take a screenshot of the error message you are receiving and email it to support@zot...org?
-
This is a bug in Zotero 2.0.8. If you need this functionality now, you can install the Zotero 2.0 Branch XPI (not the trunk or the integration XPI. These will not help.).
-
What version of Zotero WinWord Integration appears in Tools->Add-ons->Extensions? The version of Zotero.dot is irrelevant, and reinstalling it will not fix this error. Make sure you are running the latest plug-in from the beta page.
-
Assuming you are dumping normal JavaScript objects, you may be able to use Zotero.debug(variable.toSource()), although the output won't be as nicely formatted.
-
Frank, can you reproduce this on the trunk? I'm not seeing problems with the em dashes in Word on Mac or Windows. I'll give OOo a try if you see this there.
