The only difference between 4.0.8.1 and 4.0.8.2 is in the packaging, so upgrading won't make a difference. In fact, it wouldn't surprise me if the debug IDs for 4.0.8.2 say 4.0.8.1 in the report ID. Would you mind providing a debug ID for what happ…

It's possible the latest Word plugin works with Word XP. It's also possible that the older Word plugins work with the latest version of Zotero. Both are not supported configurations not because we know that they don't work, but because we don't have…

The installer extracts itself using 7zSD and then runs. I'm not aware of anyone reporting issues in the past, so I have no idea why this wouldn't work on your system. Assuming extracting didn't fail, it should be in a directory starting with "7ZipSf…

Zotero Standalone ordinarily listens on port 23119 for communication with connectors and port 23116 for communication with LibreOffice, both on loopback, so not accessible to other systems. It sounds like your system settings might be preventing Zot…

That error isn't a Java error; it's an error binding to the port LibreOffice uses to communicate with Zotero. Most likely you have multiple copies of Zotero running simultaneously (e.g. Zotero for Firefox and Zotero Standalone with different data di…

Would you mind emailing the document to support@zotero.org?

There are two problems. The first problem is that there's an empty citation your document (it has no items in it). I'm not sure how you managed to create this, but it's not supposed to be possible. It has citation ID 14d3v0ri44; you should be able t…

This saves for me in Chrome on my desktop. The "null" that appears in the saving window indicates that Zotero isn't able to determine the name of the attachment. We should handle this better, but if you're even getting that far then the book itself …

sysodisA is the "display alert" message, and every application should support it. If Word doesn't understand it, something is wrong with either Word or AppleScript. Unfortunately I don't have any insight beyond this. You might try reinstalling Word.

The interface for displaying dialogs changed in OpenOffice 4, and inserting a citation in a text frame displays a warning since we can't determine its position relative to the rest of the document. I've adjusted the plugin to deal with the changes t…

Follow these instructions in Firefox to reinstall the extension in LibreOffice.

Assuming you have Word for Mac 12.2.0 or later, in Finder, hold down Option and select Library from the Go menu. Then open Application Support/Microsoft/Office/Word Script Menu Items/Zotero and rename Edit Citation\coe.scpt to Edit Citation.scpt. Yo…

Rename Edit Citation\coe.scpt in your Word Script Menu Items folder to get rid of the \coe. The location of this folder depends on the version (and, for older versions, language) of Word.

The fix will be available in the next version of Zotero.

qenghis: That looks like a bug. Zotero is updating the session data every time it does a search, which isn't actually necessary to produce the cited items list and shouldn't be happening. Searching the cited items is itself fast. I'll fix this.

jeroenvg: Can you create a debug ID for what happens when you try to add two citations to a document with Firefox open? You should ignore Zotero Standalone at the moment. It will work once we officially release this update.

qenghis: Can you provide a debug ID?

Since it's no longer possible to download NeoOffice without paying for it and it's apparently not possible to build the source on the last two versions of OS X, I can't readily test this, but in any case, it's unlikely to be our bug, since everythin…

At least in principle, the classic insert citation dialog shouldn't be any faster than the new insert citation dialog. It switches where the delay happens (with the classic insert citation dialog you have to wait longer before the dialog opens), but…

The Apache OpenOffice folks have finally added documentation on how to create an extension that works with AOO 4, older versions of OpenOffice, and LibreOffice. We've thus incorporated support for AOO 4 into the LibreOffice plugin, which you can try…

Do you have the latest version of Word? This sounds like http://word.mvps.org/mac/asterisksbug.html

We're working on a fix for this.

If you get the same error a second time, is the same citation highlighted? Also, can you provide a report ID after retriggering the error?

When you get that message, there will be a citation that is highlighted in your document. You should select the item in your library corresponding to the highlighted citation in the new bar that appears after you click "Yes." There are two bars beca…

Select the item in the new bar that appears after you click "Yes." If it's not in your Zotero library, you'll have to add it.

Try reinstalling the plugin.

The PubMed translator isn't running at all. The embedded metadata translator is reading the meta tags, but unfortunately the meta tags are useless and don't identify the article, as you can see by looking at the page source. I would be very surprise…

DWL-SDCA: Zotero's built-in automatic abbreviation functionality abbreviates journals not indexed by MEDLINE in MEDLINE style (i.e., using LTWA).
