Rees Archibald: It's almost certainly http://www.zotero.org/support/word_processor_plugin_troubleshooting#cannot_insert_citation_into_any_document_with_word_2011. But this isn't related to the rest of this thread.

You can create separate profiles in Zotero Standalone by launching it from the command line with the -profilemanager argument. You can then uncheck the "don't ask at startup" box and it will ask you which profile you want to use every time you open …

We don't support non-UTF-8 MARC records, and given both the amount of work involved and the inherent obsolescence of non-Unicode character sets, I'm not sure we ever plan to.
-
For exactly the reason you specify, Zotero only shares PDFs and other attachments with private groups. If you make your library public, they won't be shared.
-
Snapshots are HTML files. We export them to BibTeX exactly the same way we export PDFs, so if there's an issue, it's on JabRef's side.
-
Read the documentation at http://www.zotero.org/support/word_processor_plugin_usage
-
If you want to put in a new citation, choose "Add Citation", not "Edit Citation." "Edit Citation" is for changing citations that are already in the document.
-
It looks like the BibTeX translator is getting called on http://scholar.google.de/scholar.bib?q=info:e1PARHzDeN4J:scholar.google.com/&hl=de&as_sdt=0,5&ct=citation&cd=1&output=citation but it's not giving an error or returning …

The instructions are the same for Firefox and Zotero Standalone. I updated the page to replace instances of "Firefox" with "Firefox or Zotero Standalone."

The bug that I linked to above happens with any version of LibreOffice 3.5 if you enable experimental features in the LibreOffice preferences. It's possible that this was the cause of your original issue, but the current problem you're experiencing …

First, make sure you're not experiencing this error. If it's not, restart Zotero, take a screenshot of the error you get when attempting to insert a bibliography, and post it on an image sharing site such as imageshack.us or tinypic.com.
-
What do you mean by "copy past a section"?Did you press the refresh button?
-
What exactly are you doing to produce the error? Does it happen in a new document?
-
No translator named "BiBTeX (\cite)" ships with Zotero. You would be best off contacting whoever made this translator, either by posting in the relevant forum thread or by emailing that person directly.
-
The fact that Zotero previously saved references off of Wikipedia rather than the page itself was a bit of an anomaly, since it's not what Zotero does on other pages. Chrome doesn't allow us to specify right-click menu for the URL bar icon, but we…

Try installing the MacWord Integration Trunk XPI and see if that helps.
-
I think the arguments listed at https://wiki.mozilla.org/Installer:Command_Line_Arguments should apply to the Zotero Standalone installer as well.
-
I've updated the translator to fix this issue. Zotero should automatically pull the updated translator within 24 hours. Alternatively, you can click the "Update now" button in the Zotero preferences, and then restart your browser.
-
Start with http://www.zotero.org/support/word_processor_plugin_troubleshooting#installation_error

I think the relevant information should also appear in the box when Zotero crashes. (It will look something like this.) If you can email that, it should also be sufficient.
-
From the page I linked to above: Note: You can also start Firefox in Safe Mode by holding down the option key while starting Firefox.
-
It would be great if you could send a crash log to support@zotero.org. There are instructions for how to find them here.
-
If you have third-party firewall or security software installed, try disabling it. If you don't, do you by any chance use a proxy server to access the Internet?
-
You can only add locate engines that supply them. At the moment, I'm not sure any sites do, so AFAIK the only options are the locate engines that come with Zotero and the example Amazon.com locate engine on that page. I'll look into the toggle issue…
-
cohen_tom: I think you may also be able to change the Word startup location from the Word preferences, which might get this working on startup. (If you do, Zotero should automatically install into the new directory if you reinstall the Word Add-in f…

Obviously. But if the styles want title case but don't specify it, that's a style bug, not a translator bug.
-
Styles can and should be title-casing journal titles, no?
-
If you can send the document to support@zotero.org, we can take a look. Alternatively, follow the steps on the debugging broken documents page.
-
I don't think we've seen this before. Does this happen in a new document?
-
Post the screenshot at tinypic or imageshack and include a link to it here. But first, make sure it's not this issue.
