Ah, you want to know which collection an item is in. Sorry. How about this: http://www.zotero.org/support/kb/collections_containing_an_item How can I see what collections my item is in? To see all the collections an item is in, select the item …

Right click the entry, then select "Show File."

Select the pdfs, then right click (PC) and select "retrieve metadata for PDFs." http://www.zotero.org/support/retrieve_pdf_metadata

A quick forum search led me to this thread: http://forums.zotero.org/discussion/11149/search-function-within-notes/. In it is this statement by Dan Stillman: Search within notes is definitely planned. In the meantime, as an awkward workaround, you …

Great!

Ctrl-Z doesn't do anything? Or it doesn't do what you need it to do? What version of Zotero are you using? Are you using Standalone or with Firefox? Have you tried disabling all Firefox extensions?
-
Or do you mean for taking notes on a reference? No "undo"/"Redo" but ctrl-Z works for somethings.

Suppress Authors: Using Authors in the Text With author-date styles, authors are often moved into the text and omitted from the following parentheses-enclosed citation, e.g.: ”…according to Smith (1776) the division of labor is crucial…”. To omit t…

You can resize the left (collection/tags) pane from "pretty big" to "collapsed." On the border between the left and middle panes there is a small dotted line. If you click directly (and I mean _directly_...not much margin left or right) on the dott…

Yay for 2.0.10!!! Well done! Shift-tab works!
-
I just discovered that ctrl-tab will take me out of a note (to the selector triangle of the quick search box), and that ctrl/alt-o will give me a new note! ZSA 3.0.8

Sweet! Can't wait.

Oh...this? To see all the collections an item is in, select the item and then hold down the Option (OS X), Control (Windows) or Alt key (Linux). This highlights all the collections that contain the item.
-
You mean like right click the file, then click Show File? (Or the green "locate" arrow next to the search box)? Or do you mean something else?
-
Yes, it is. Enter both references in one citation, then click on Barker (while the red box is still active) and then put "cited in" in the prefix field.
-
Right click on My Library (left pane) and select Show Duplicates.
-
Are you trying to add an additional reference to an already existing citation? If so, try edit citation instead of insert.
-
Have you tried using the footnote function built into your word processor?

Could you give some sample citations?

(I will be out of contact for a couple of days, in connection with some upcoming air travel.) Noooo!! Most planes have inflight internet now!
-
In the "Add/Edit Citation" window of the plugin there is an option for multiple sources. Click that, add your two references, then use the prefix slot to put "quoted in". Using prefix/suffixes does not break the refresh. Does that give you what you…

Are you working in the Tag selector pane (bottom left pane?)...not the right pane where the tags are for an individual item?
-
oh...ok...thanks!

I tried posting here: https://groups.google.com/forum/?fromgroups#!topic/zotero-dev/yJLUTttGMXk but my post got deleted. How else can I get in touch with chris?

Ok! Finally got it installed after backing up! It is version 0.0.1. Is that the most current version? I ask because it seems a little quirky. Sometimes it works(!!!!) but sometimes it doesn't. Once it seemed to hang FF. Sometimes I can continuall…

Wow! No, I hadn't seen that. I'm a little confused about how to install it. I'm on Win 7. Can you clarify that for me? Thanks!!!
-
Wow, I like that better. Thanks!

In absence of a more elegant solution (afaik), I have created a temporary collection, and I drag both items into it. Now I can easily drag the note to the item from within that collection.
