Do you have the "tags" pane open? If so, close it, and you can shrink Zotero down to "unusable." The tag pane imposes some restrictions. As far as I know, there is no way to "shrink" Zotero widthwise.

I just did a quick check, and it seems you can only drag attachments that are stand alone into a collection. If it is associated with a parent item, you get the "no" symbol when you try to drag just the attachment. You need to drag the entire item.…

Did you by any chance add (or enable) a new extension to FireFox? Sometimes those disrupt Zotero. If so, disable it and see if your references return. If they do, then please let us know what extension was the culprit.

For now you need to add it manually. One possible improvement, though, is to add the page number at the beginning of the note. That way the notes will be sorted by page number.

Try this suggestion from Dan Type about:config into the Firefox address bar, paste extensions.zotero.export.bibliographyLocale into the Filter box, and change that setting to 'en-US' to get citations in English.
