You want a link to open up a file stored in Zotero? This isn't very elegant, but it does work: 1. click "Show File" for the file in Zotero 2. Copy the address in the address bar to that folder 3. click insert hyperlink in Word 4. Paste the copie…

Here's a more extended discussion: http://forums.zotero.org/discussion/2585/

In the insert citation window try clicking the box that suppresses the author. Does that do what you want?
-
Click on "author" and it will give you a list of options. Editor should be one of them. http://forums.zotero.org/discussion/458/editor-field-in-book-section

Unfortunately, it seems not to be as trivial as one might think. http://forums.zotero.org/discussion/3240/duplicate-entry-warning

Try closing the tag pane, or reducing it.

LOL...yeah, that probably is a pretty small group, huh? I downloaded Scaffold and succesfully got through the target and function detectWeb(doc, url) { if(doc.title == "ATLAS - Brief Citations") { return "journalArticle"; } } S…

By the way, is there any indication that your independant ATLAS subscription is using a third party 'platform' to deliver their database. I really don't know. I'm pretty clueless when it comes to these matters. I'm just a user. :) I'll take a loo…

Just because you can see bibligraphic data on a website doesn't always mean that it's in a Zotero friendly format. Check out these links: No Icon Known Translators If the sites you are having problems with have known translators, or don't appear …

But, to bypass all that, I assume you didn't see an option to open those other two file types in the Acrobat plugin within Firefox? Correct. I did not. I meant to put that in my previous post, but I forgot. I tried just putting Firefox, but all tha…

1. Loading manually gives the same results: opens save as box. 2. launchNonNativeFiles = FALSE 3. HMMM, It shows save as "ACDSee 8.0 PDF" 4. Applications Pane: It shows 3 PDF file types, but I don't know the differences among them (I can't expand…

Wonderful! But I'm a little disappointed that you can't read the contents of my clipboard unless I actually paste it into this form. Sighhhh. [extra output removed] zotero(5): SELECT linkMode, path FROM itemAttachments WHERE itemID=13636 zotero(3…

@marqui! Wow, thanks! Now, who do we contact to change the Spanish version?
-
Dan!! Don't you have a life??? This is a holiday!! :) All extensions disabled...same problem. I can click on a PDF on a web page, no problem. Here is the last part of the debug output. I don't know how much you need. Let me know if you need mor…

I just updated to r3309. Without limiting the search by item type: 1. The freeze is fixed for childless entries when I put "Spanish" in the language field. It's now near instantaneous. 2. HOWEVER, entries with children still show up in the "not…

Hmmm. 'm not sure I totally understand what happening, but... Do you tag child items, too? (Like notes, files, snapshots, etc.?) If so, maybe there are still some "not done" tags luking around.

The Zotero Word plugin uses fields (or alternatively bookmarks), not just a "simple paste." Zotero needs to be open to insert the citation, but after that, it's independent. You can email the document to someone and they can view/print the document…

Check out the FAQ that talks about this.

Sheila, here is a link that provides some information on multiple bibliographies: http://forums.zotero.org/discussion/1741/

I can't help you with the first part, but for "translator", click on the word "Author" (in the right pane) and you will get a list of options. Translator should be one of them.

Are you trying to maintain the subfolder structure the importanted folder "Imported date"? If so, the instructions above should work. If you are simply trying to drag items from the center pane to "My Library" you will always get the cannot copy sy…

It's in the works: http://forums.zotero.org/discussion/222/#Item_17

If you had the "imported library" selected with it's contents showing in the middle pane, and then entered Fake Book, it would show up in the imported library as well as, obviously "my library". If you have "My Library" showing and enter a new item…
-
"My Library" is always a master list of all your references. It can't be deleted. All other folders and sub-folders are "merely" virtual copies with a virtual organization. You can drag references from "My Library" to any number of collections or s…

In Word, you can select all the text in the document then press ctrl-shft-F9. This will flatten all the field codes. I'm not sure how to do this in OpenOffice. Caution: at the present time there is no way to restore the codes to Zotero friendly cod…

Sweet. I've just started experimenting with this. I think it's the way to go, but am open to other suggestions, too.

Does this help? Backing up library
