Thatnks Sebastian. That would take just as much time.. I thought maybe there was a way within GDocs, but if not, we'll do it our old way.
-
I just noticed that the docu on this is still incorrect. It currently says: "manually install the translator, download the Scannable Cite translator (right-click on the link and use "Save link as") and place the downloaded file "Scannable Cite.js" i…

Hmmm - I guess I missed the part where we could use code to interact with our libraries. Will have to look that up. But thanks Dan! For those of us with very large collections, the ability to extract some metadata for those would indeed be great. S…

I hadn't been able to submit the debug output when the third-party plugins enabled. With them disabled, things seem to work ok. Thanks for suggesting that, Dan! If I find out which plugin was the culprit, I'll report back...
-
Any news on this?
-
Yep, this doesn't work anymore for me either. Here's what the debug output says (2)(+0000017): Storing itemTree item-tree-main-default column prefs (3)(+0000000): itemTree.render(). Displaying Item Tree See D2060466528

Still interested in this. Trying to import an RIS file with about 6k items into a group folder. I though this functionality had been enhanced, but it seems as slow as ever
-
Thanks! We'll look into this
-
I'll try that - thanks. As to our workflow - we are now using our Zotero libraries to hand-pick 'golden sentences' from a corpus (/Zotero library). So members of our team go in a library, select articles that, based on their titles, look particular…
-
We now have a few 100s of notes across a library... So doing it manually is a lot of work. I'll look into mdnotes though. Thanks Dan!
-
But so Dan, if we want to just export the annotated text spans, how do we do that?
-
Just an update - since I turned off automatic syncing, things work as well as before. Zotero now uses some 800MB, and works mostly fine (I still have a problem with the connector - see 1655429151, but I'm looking into that,
-
@sdspieg: If your last automatic backup dates from 5/11/2020, this seems to indicate some problem that needs to be debugged. Maybe this is related to the size of your 'zotero.sqlite' file. Have you checked whether there's enough space for multiple …

Thanks Dan! On your points Extreme situation - yes, I realize I am an unusual user :). But we run a bunch of projects per year, with multiple team members, many projects involve text-mining of larger full-text corpora, and we always use Zotero, whi…

We should be able to share this. Let me look into this and get back to you
-
Thanks Sebastian... Yes, I also suspect this scenario isn't altogether that unusual. Yes, I have more than 100 group libraries - some of them probably also unusually large. Yes, I tend to use the classic 'add citation' dialog (it's really the only p…

Just adding that I personally now just use an indexer (in my case the quite powerful dtsearch) to find things back in my storage folders. It's a pain, but for the time being it's the only way for me to find things back across my 150 groups...
-
So a collective Nobel then? ;)
-
Wow. Thanks, Sebastian! But so I see that this is basically yet another Dan Stillman production. See here .. What do we do to get this guy a Nobel price or something?!? :)
-
Sorry. And thanks!
-
I guess... :)

This may be another issue of course. But I cannot download anything from JSTOR through the translator. I don't get the yellow 'folder' icon... (this is in Chrome - in Firefox, with the beta translator, I do see the yellow folder icon, but it still d…

Is this really solved for everybody? Because I still seem to have the issue. D1984320842
-
Sure. I open Zotero (after, admittedly, a long time). It opens ok, as always quickly opening the group library that I last worked in. I then try to open another group library. And that one does NOT open. Or at least not for a few hours - I just look…
-
Let me try here again too :)

Wondering whether there already was a better solution for this, I stumbled upon this unsent saved draft. But so is there anything new in this discussion? This discussion seems to focus upon personal use (as suggested by @bwiernic). Why do you say…

[Answering my own question] - It turns out it was a public group. Changed it to private, and it works like a charm now. Sorry! But maybe somebody else in the future may still find the answer useful :)
-
Update: all items did end up in the Group library now. Thanks much @danstillman
-
Just updating. This is working now (from behind the VPN) - to some extent. Out of 100 I just experimented with, it retrieved 56. And there were at least a few non-retrieved ones that I was still able to retrieve manually. If you're interested, I can…

I had imported these items into my own library, and would now like to get them into a group library. Any suggestions on how best to do this? I tried dragging them, but that didn't work. [Also I get an error (Report ID 42967530) - not sure whether th…
