Great, thanks a lot! The betas have been so solid for me, it never occurred to me that it was a bug. Thanks again.

Hi Dan, I've sent the log to the email address. See the email with subject "Problem with FF connector mode"
-
Thanks Dan. I've left work now but I'll try this over the weekend and send the log to you.
-
Thanks, yes I get "Endpoint does not support method" when go to that address.

The other button in the plugin works - the Z button switches to the standalone version. Just the save to Zotero button and that works sometimes when standalone is closed, just never works when it is open...

Thanks for your quick help to Adam.

Yes, I tried restarting the computer. Standalone version: 5.0-beta.r85+8c48b2f FF plugin version: 5.0-beta.r83+1b67ed0 Should these be the same build? I don't know how to update the plugin - firefox reports no updates found in the extension manag…

I also tried resetting the translators

When I hover over it, it says Save to Zotero (Web Page) even if I am viewing a paper that I have access to. It doesn't detect that the PDF is accessible so the icon doesn't change to the full text icon like it normally does. If I click the button no…

I tried everything - refreshing firefox, reinstalling the plugin, the save to Zotero button is now broken :(

OK, so I moved my Zotero data folder out of my Syncplicity folder. I left my Zotfile PDF folder stored there. I changed the data directory location (Zotero 5 beta standalone) to point to the new location and restarted, all good. Then I did the same…

Ok, thanks. Syncplicity is more like Dropbox than rsync, it syncs files between computers, but it works from a network share hosted at my work rather than in the cloud. So it is not just a one way sync. Maybe that is the problem. It only happens whe…

It's the 5.0 beta standalone.
-
OK, I think I sorted it - I had some PDFs that weren't associated with records. I added them to the references and the error stopped. I'm not sure why the got detached from their references though.
-
Ok, cool. Thanks for the info.

Hi

Sounds good to me. If you're dropping the whole platform how will the app be developed - will it be a native app on each platform? Will it end up being a universal windows platform app or a regular win32 app?
-
Great, thanks!
-
Thanks for the suggestions. I was using FoxIt for a while but in the end it doesn't seem that much better than Acrobat. I think I will probably just stick with Acrobat. I just wondered if there was a fast (ie. light on features, streamlined interfac…

I am having problems - I set a custom location for files in the zotfile preferences to a folder I sync between computers. I chose the same folder on both computers but when I swap between computers, Zotero loses the link to the attachments even thou…

OK, thanks. But I'm not clear - does the visual editor actually edit the style file as stored in the repository? I only really want to edit it locally for the paper, if I edit say line spacing on the ACS style, does it change the official ACS style?
-
Oh, and what about line spacing - can I change line spacing for a bibliography?
-
Other question, is there a way to apply paragraph formatting to a bibliography? Eg. sometimes it helps to be able to set a hanging indent for references so that the second line onwards of a reference are indented. Endnote has a clumsy way of doing t…

OK, I'll let you know if it happens to me again. Other than this problem a couple of add ins that haven't been updated the beta has been rock solid for me. Thanks for all the hard work!
-
All good, I didn't have the Zotero 5 beta plugin installed in Firefox. I updated that and the error went away.
-
I'm getting an error (latest Zotero 5 beta standalone) when choosing references - create bibliography from items. I choose copy to clipboard or save as rtf and I get: [JavaScript Application] An error occurred generating your bibliography. Please …

Is there a version of this plugin for the Zotero 5 beta? It currently won't install. The Scannable cite output style is already there in Zotero 5 but the RTF scan does not have the ODF option from the plugin.
-
Ok, would be good to have this feature but your workaround isn't too inconvenient. Thanks.
-
I mean for records that already have metadata, I know that I can retrieve metadata from a PDF if there is nothing there already.

That's great, thanks for looking into this. I just trusted Endnote was getting it right which was a mistake! This means I can give Zotero a go with the paper I am currently writing. Thanks again Adam and fbennett
