This is a Word problem, not a Zotero issue. MS Word lets you toggle between field codes and formatted text. Try alt-F9 (or option-F9 on Mac).

It's in the pipeline: https://www.zotero.org/trac/ticket/761

This is a rendering bug in Firefox 2 and will be fixed in Firefox 3.

kajeling: Thanks for looking into this problem. Your translator fixes would be greatly appreciated. You can register for a trac account and commit translator changes to our repository. In this particular case, I would be worried that we might be…

Moving to Import/Export category.
-
Yes, it should probably be turned off.
-
Short titles are already automatically populated on import when it's possible.
-
Is the PDF someplace where we could access it to test?
-
As you suspected, Wiley is generating only very incomplete citation data for this item. Just a string of authors and an item type ("Journal Article"). No reference manager software will be able to do anything meaningful with a record so incomplete. …

Unfortunately, it's not a Zotero problem: Blackwell is generating bad metadata. In this case the publication field in their exported metadata is: Y1 - 2007/05/121

The coming ability to create and access shared collections should fill this requirement.

FAQ

You don't need to be online to access your Zotero library. Everything is kept in your Firefox profile, which is locally stored on your computer. Just open Firefox as usual.
-
Glad to hear that you're liking Zotero. Items 1&2 can definitely be handled by CSL, but there's not much we can do about item 3. If you import data that only contains first initials – and that's certainly going to be the case at Google Scholar …

ScienceDirect has been supported for over a year. Please check http://www.zotero.org/index.php/translators/ or try Zotero on a site before posting here. Thanks!
-
The revised ACM translator is now available. Your software will update automatically within 24 hours, or you can update immediately by clicking "Update now" in Zotero preferences.
-
Thanks for bringing this problem to our attention. We've tweaked our ACM translator, and the new version will be available later today.

Yes, citation styles are a lot more complex than they might outwardly appear. The CSLs used by Zotero are at the moment by far the best way to represent the contorted logic that goes into each journal's style.
-
Scopus has never been supported by Zotero, and since we do not have institutional access to the database, we cannot easily develop a translator. ScienceDirect should be working fine. Please provide a specific article that's failing to import.
-
I have no problem importing that article. Are you accessing ScienceDirect via an institutional subscription (e.g. from a campus network)?
-
This does not sound like a Zotero problem.

11. If you already have a Citefest tag, you can drag all 19 references to the Citefest tag in the tag selector. 14. You can play around with CSLs by entering chrome://zotero/content/tools/csledit.xul in the Firefox location bar. You'll basically w…

You'll need to be a lot more specific. Are you talking about on import from a certain website? Import of a file format? Export to a particular citation style?
-
Hi John, Could you send your hanging 35 reference library (exported as RIS) to support@zot...org? We'll take a look at it to see what's going on. Thanks.
-
If you did everything listed at http://www.zotero.org/documentation/installation , Zotero should be running inside your Firefox browser. Look under the Firefox "Tools" menu for "Zotero." Perhaps you're not seeing the Zotero icon in the lower right…
