It's not really imported in place currently though. When you import a file, it is imported into a collection named after the name of the file. Though this might seem like an in-place import, it's actually not.

yup, adamsmith fixed this today https://github.com/zotero/translators/commit/cd69bf24ead3504f32ff8cbcfbde4138060d27e9

Re (1), I don't recall if we fixed this in Zotero, but if AF determines that the Journal Title should not be abbreviated (e.g. Nature), then Journal Abbreviation would override AF. usually that's not an issue, but it may be. Re (2), I think we expe…

I'll wait for Dan to take a look at the Error Report before proceeding with more troubleshooting.

See http://www.zotero.org/support/troubleshooting_translator_issues Use http://www.worldcat.org/title/wealth-of-nations/oclc/44841660&referer=brief_results as a test page

In Zotero Standalone, go to Preferences -> Advanced -> Files and Folders, under Data Directory Location, select Use profile directory, then restart Zotero Standalone. You should see an empty library. See if the issue persists at this point. …

It's unlikely to be any of your Zotero settings. Also, reinstalling Zotero will not change the settings. You can try installing Zotero Standalone (https://www.zotero.org/download/) and connect it to the same database. It's likely that this will let …

I don't think reinstalling Firefox will help (it shouldn't change your settings). Resetting Firefox may help, but I would not suggest it yet. Check your database integrity via Preferences -> Advanced -> Files and Folders. Let us know what it …

I've always envisioned the toggle as a button in the toolbar. I generally use recursive collections, but often find myself wanting to toggle it momentarily. In general, I don't see why the toolbar cannot be made customizable.

Yes, do this on your home computer first.

-1.select"preferences"+"advanced"+"files and folders"+"linked attachment base directory"+ "choose..." = flash drive Which computer is this on? What's the flash drive letter?

See http://www.zotero.org/support/zotero_data#restoring_your_zotero_library_from_a_backup1 and restore from the "old firefox data" folder. Then set up syncing and make sure it is working correctly. If you're having trouble, see http://www.zotero.or…

I think there's some confusion about what Base Directory actually does. (You probably know most of this, but here it is anyway) There are two ways to have files in Zotero: (1) have Zotero automatically move files into its _storage directory_ (store…
-
Actually, I don't think that matters. If you set a base directory, and some files are outside of it, those files will remain with absolute paths. So your new links should not be affected
-
IIRC, you should be able to do this just with Zotero (no need for Zutilo). First, in Zotero Preferences, set your base directory to the location where your files used to be, then change the base directory to the new location. You'll probably need t…

If the references in your thesis had a DOI or ISBN, it may be not too difficult to re-import them quickly into Zotero using Add by Identifier tool.
-
No, not currently. You didn't happen to sync your Zotero library to zotero.org, did you? In general, you should always have backups of your Zotero data directory. See http://www.zotero.org/support/zotero_data

(5)(+0000017): CookieSandbox: Managing cookies for weblogin.stanford.edu (5)(+0000000): CookieSandbox: Cleared cookies to be sent to weblogin.stanford.eduSo you're saying that the above should have sent a cookie to weblogin.stanford.edu? That cooki…

@adamsmith, The fields that are being exported to Zotero are determined by a filter, which is hard-coded in the translator. It's possible that INSPEC has some different names for its field values, which would explain this. I don't currently have a b…

the work around is sufficient at least for my purposes.By the "work around" are you referring to "Import from Clipboard"? If so, are you saying that if you delete _just_ the collection your item is still being removed? Also, when you say, I move the…

@Dan, I'm going to go out on a limb here and say that this is at fault:(3)(+0000000): HTTP POST [...] to http://apps.webofknowledge.com.openathensproxy.aston.ac.uk.openathensproxy.aston.ac.uk/OutboundService.do?action=goI have some general fixes for…

@Dan, Do PAC based proxies depend on cookies? I.e. would this be fixed by https://github.com/zotero/zotero/pull/409 or is Zotero Standalone not picking up the proxy in general?

Which URL setting? Base directory? Or Data Directory Location?
-
That might be because of (2) though. Unfortunately, I can't be much of help there with Ubuntu. Maybe adamsmith has some ideas.

1) magic wand tool doesn't allow pasting of DOIs or ISBNs either in standalone or in the firefox add-on.This is a known issue when using a _mouse_ to copy/paste. It should work via keyboard shortcuts. 2) in standalone, I can copy and paste by mouse …

Purge Storage will clear your online storage, but if you have not yet set up your Zotero with one of the above options, it will just re-upload everything. And if you have set up Zotero with one of the above, then the only reason to Purge Storage is …

For the proxy issue, it would probably help if you could produce the Debug ID from Zotero Standalone as per instructions above. Dan will have to take a look at that. In the mean time I'm looking into the hanging "Saving..." dialog issue.
-
Also, it's not really clear to me that you are using Zotero for this, since Zotero functions are not found on the References tab, but in the Add-Ins. What adamsmith says still stands though.

The first one is a frequently occurring error that should not impact translation (I'm not entirely sure why we're seeing it in general) and the second error should, in theory, never happen. @jschaar, could you provide a Debug ID from Zotero Standal…
