It will not work over that proxy. If you can access it from campus or over vpn directly, it should work.

As long as you save the document in the same format (e.g. doc or docx), the citations should remain. Though, obviously, we recommend having a backup of the document.
-
Windows makes this a bit more difficult, but if the sync does not end up going through try the steps described here: https://www.zotero.org/support/debug_output#windows I don't think Zotero is supposed to _freeze_ for more than a couple minutes (th…

Is that with Zotero Standalone open? I forgot to mention that you should try with standalone closed. If it is with standalone closed, then could you submit a debug ID from Firefox with Standalone closed for an attempt to import article?
-
What version of Zotero, which OS? Also is there a way to sync a group folder without syncing your whole library? Not currently, no.
-
What you're doing should work. Try this: In Word, find two references in text that are duplicated in the bibliography. Press Alt+F9 and copy-paste here the chunk of text that appears for both references that are duplicated. You can copy paste the pa…

Looks like this might be fixed in the next version of Zotero Chrome connector. @schultzbergin, if you have a way, could you verify that this works correctly in Firefox?
-
So that would be breaking here: https://github.com/zotero/zotero-connectors/blob/master/src/common/inject/http.js#L42 Seems that accessing location.protocol of the parent frame (serialssolutions.com in this case) is not a safe operation. I'm not ent…

@Dan, could you post the output to a gist?
-
You can use http://zotfile.com/ to send PDFs to a Dropbox folder, which you could then access on your phone. You can then use ZotFile again to update the PDFs in Zotero if you make annotations or something on the phone.
-
Or maybe that message is just for the PDF and not what actually causes import to fail?PDF download would be happening (and failing) via Standalone though. But this could be caused by us trying to get to the PDF or just the metadata. Debug ID would t…

So inserting citations via Word plugin works fine then? All citations are inserted only as (Authorsurname)What exactly are you seeing and what do you expect to see and with which style? MLA 7 is an author-date style, so are you not seeing the date? …
-
You shouldn't be copy-pasting. You need to insert references using Zotero buttons in Word. Otherwise, you're just pasting plain text and Zotero has no way to reformat it. https://www.zotero.org/support/word_processor_plugin_usage

@aurimas - the way I think that works is that EBSCO (and other resources) run in a frame of the serialssolution page - which is why we detect them. But I don't have access either, so that's just based on my best understanding. That's what I think too…
-
@adamsmith, is that because the EBSCO page is proxied through serialssolutions (in which case, would we even detect it as such?) [edit: I see that it's not]. Otherwise, this should (in theory) not be a cross-origin request. I don't think I have acc…

Have you tried restarting the computer?
-
We do. I just realized that we should also have the number of pages already in the DB.
-
For some reference here's the original logic behind MAX_PAGES = 7 though that didn't help in this case. I'll have to take a closer look if this is possible, but it seems to me that we would want to look at, say max of 7 pages or no more than... 3/5…
-
Sorry about that. Made a typo. Same instructions as before.
-
Where exactly are you filling in your username and password? You should be entering this into Zotero Preferences under Sync, then closing preferences and clicking the sync button (the round circular arrow at the top right corner of Zotero window)
-
Is this also over proxy? That will probably not work currently with Standalone open. When you close Standalone, you can open Zotero inside Firefox (lower right corner) and select the collection you want. Otherwise, please provide a URL that fails
-
Try using https://www.zotero.org/utils/dbfix/ At the very least it will give Dan a chance to look at your database and maybe try to reproduce the lag. Remember to post the ID here
-
You are probably looking for the classic citation dialog. https://www.zotero.org/support/word_processor_plugin_usage#quick_format_citation_dialog (see "switching to classic citation dialog" section)
-
Sorry if I missed this in the discussion above, but have you tried (or are you) using Zotero Standalone? This could help eliminate some variables
-
Are you saying it's not working?
-
There should be no difference between using regular footnotes and Zotero footnotes (they are actually the same thing, Zotero tells Word to insert a footnote). I'm able to adjust the spacing using the ruler on Word 2010 (32bit, v14.0.7116.5000). Whic…
-
@GrantJ, do you have a 32 bit or 64 bit processor? It probably doesn't matter, but I will try to reproduce this in a virtual machine and I might as well work under the same conditions.
-
I'll fix this later today. I have a fix already, but it sort of broke something else, so I need to do some debugging and I'm out of time right now.
-
I'm thinking it might be picking up an overlayed iframe or adpage or something else we're not seeing. All of that would be showing up in the debug log. I'm only seeing a single detectWeb call (unless Dan omitted others, which I doubt he would). Ano…
