I think that (at some point) we should normalize the whole DB, but my concern was always this outstanding ticket: https://bugzilla.mozilla.org/show_bug.cgi?id=728180 If we normalize with the current nsIUnicodeNormalizer and Firefox upgrades this, we…

Oooo, in other great news, looks like string.normalize() is coming to Firefox and is already in Chrome! https://developer.mozilla.org/en-US/docs/Web/JavaScript/Reference/Global_Objects/String/normalize#Browser_compatibility

@bwiernik, unfortunately, I don't have Windows 8 installed anywhere at this point. If you're feeling adventurous, you can try following these steps to help debug this. Open RegEdit. Not sure about Windows 8, but typically, this has been Windows Key …

I doubt this was set through the UI, but why do we even have the option to set the font size that low? I think anything below 4pt is not practical anyway.
-
Is that a private group (file sharing is not allowed in a public group)? Does it allow file attachments? Do you have permission to edit the group? (all of these settings can be found on zotero.org)
-
You can sort by date added. (add that column by clicking the button at the very top right corner of the center pane)
-
Okay, so I should...uninstall and then reinstall Standalone?Yes
-
Bit of a long shot, but try reinstalling Zotero Standalone. (Edit: your data will not be removed, but you're welcome to make a backup)
-
Hmmm, that's a bit unexpected. I'm out of ideas for the moment. Maybe Dan knows something (could be something specific to Mac OSX). If you're syncing, can you see the notes online on zotero.org under My Library?
-
And this is the text that you cannot see??
-
Click on the "HTML" button. Copy paste the contents here for one of the (shorter) notes. Make sure you select "Text" before posting.
-
Just in case you're not aware, for most writing, using the Word/LibreOffice/OpenOffice plugins is the most efficient way and the way that Zotero was designed to be used. Right-click -> Create bibliography has its uses too though.
-
I would (given these constraints) make a more frequent backup of the zotero.sqlite file and make backups of the "storage" directory less frequently. zotero.sqlite contains all of the metadata. "storage" directory contains all of the file attachments…

Any chance that the font is just white? Can you click on one of the note fields, type some letters (even if you can't see it) and then press Ctrl/Cmd + A? Does that highlight anything? Also, could you turn on the notes column in the center pane? At…

@bwiernik what version of Windows?
-
Are you able to add a new item or attachment to your library? (Try the green + button in the toolbar)
-
What OS? And why are you set on manual backups?
-
So generally speaking, we could write a dedicated translator that would fix these errors for BVS on import (it would also provide the URL bar icon). However, my experience with BVS so far is that the website is quite slow, and, at least for me, the …

(I googled for the RIS specs, and the AU field should be "Surname, Name, Suffix", not "Surname Name".) correct

Look in the left column. See this image for what group libraries would look like: https://www.zotero.org/static/images/support/group_libraries.png it displays "My Library" at the top and then two group libraries. All with multiple collections
-
It's this a group library? Or are the items inside "My Library"?
-
Incremental backups are certainly the way to go. Particularly for file attachments, the large majority of them don't change on daily basis. Even the SQLite database can be backed up incrementally. In general, you should utilize some sort of softwar…
-
Can the attachment be opened from within the group library? In the attachment column, is the blue circle solid or empty? Can the attachment be accessed from the group library online at Zotero.org?
-
What do you mean "populated but not used"? How do you know it's not used?
-
What OS is this?
-
I can post what happened, step by step. Please do. The root cause is that the Zotero panel differs from the content of the Zotero directory.I'm not sure how you're trying to compare these. And what do you mean by "Zotero panel"? The library view?
-
They might be getting their data straight from MEDLINE (from what I saw, every item had a MEDLINE ID), in which case, you may have to bug MEDLINE about this.
-
Please explain exactly what steps you followed

There has never been an icon for every page (e.g. Zotero.org) Sometimes an icon may appear for a generic page if there is some embedded metadata on it. "Create Web Page item from current page" is exactly what you're supposed to use. The distinction …

the folder for databases and the journal article icon these are the url bar icons. Do you mean the status bar icon that used to appear in the bottom right corner before Firefox 29?
