I've reported the error, but don't get a Report ID. what happens exactly?

This is somewhat intentionally broken due to another bug in Zotero that is still being worked on. In the mean time you can refresh the page after performing a new search to make this work. I know it's annoying, but it's the best solution I can offer…

Restarting your computer or even Firefox should definitely not be necessary (restarting Chrome/Safari/Opera may be). In Firefox, you should only need to refresh the page. I'll take a look, but it's unlikely that I'll be able to replicate this. In an…

The 2 buttons may have been there for years but I haven't included the Zotero button(s) in my Firefox toolbar config for years due to the limited space. You can still choose essentially the same single-button configuration. See https://www.zotero.org…

Sorry for lack of reply earlier. Must have missed the post. Glad you figured it out. The issue was probably an incompletely deleted citation. There was no text remaining to display, but all the metadata was still in your document. If you had an ide…

Should be fixed now (though ProQuest is being really slow for me). Update your translators via Preferences -> General -> Update Now, restart browser, and try again.
-
You can download the XPI file and then install it in Zotero Standalone manually. Go to Tools -> Add-ons. Click the gear button (top right) -> Install Add-on from File, then select the XPI file and follow the prompts.

Comment above refers to and tags. The documentation does list another variant for small caps, which is preferred. As for "nocase", it's a bit of a hack, but I guess at this point we might as well adopt it officially. IIRC there also needs to be a…

Should be fixed now. Update your translators via Preferences -> General -> Update Now (do it in both Standalone and Firefox just in case), refresh page, and try again. Thanks for reporting! Let us know if there are further issues.

Have you added images to your notes (by drag and drop)? If so, that would probably be the source of the issue. Otherwise, make sure you're looking at the correct note (search your library for the item key that Zotero mentions in the error)
-
The examples are great, so feel free to continue. Something like the last example, however, is a bit beyond what we can reasonably fix. At least I don't have plans to address that issue in the near future.

Well, if you don't want Zotero to change your manual edits, then you just have to tell Zotero to not do so at the prompt. That's why that prompt is there. There's nothing that Zotero can magically do for manually edited citations. When you tell Zote…

Thanks! Any hint as to what normalizeApostrophe does? When do we want to use that?

Besides what DWL-SDCA asks above... I get the message from Zotero saying that I have modified this citationHave you modified the citations manually? (i.e. you edited them in the document after they were inserted) This is very troubling, as I cannot,…

Frank, I assume citeproc has a function that takes a csl JSON author and parses the name into individual parts. Could you point me to that function? Also, could you put the automatic name parsing behind a flag that Zotero could toggle? I'll move the…

Could you link to a specific page? We're not very consistent with author name formatting in this regard. More often than not, we just pass along whatever format is presented on the page and that can vary a lot. I think we may want to consider perf…

Could you take a screenshot of the page, upload it to Dropbox or imgur and link to it here?

See https://www.zotero.org/support/word_processor_plugin_usage#suppress_authorsusing_authors_in_the_text

Feel free to post your translator on https://gist.github.com and link to it here. I can't really load that page properly (I think it times out for the most part, so all I get is the top bar), so I won't be writing a translator, but I can take a look…

Is there a link on that page directly to the PDF? All I see is a link to find a PDF through my university library. If there is no link to a PDF, then Zotero never imports the PDF.

Looks like the data is encoded either as Windows 1252 or ISO-18859-1 (both very similar), but is being served as UTF-8. You can simply fetch the data via ZU.doGet in the correct encoding by specifying it as the 4th parameter (first is URL, second is…

please start a new thread, since your issue is not related and include more details about your problem. See https://www.zotero.org/support/troubleshooting_translator_issues

See https://www.zotero.org/support/kb/files_not_syncing and if you've already tried what it says, see the bottom of that page regarding the Debug ID we would need.

You cannot (at least not with plain Zotero... there might be an extension out there that does this). You could use the file explorer provided by your operating system (or third party) to find all files of interest in a particular folder and subfolde…
-
ZotFile could do this, but I think it will also insist on renaming the file. You can tell ZotFile to apply a certain naming convention to your attachments and place them in a specific folder. I don't think you can simply tell ZotFile to move the fi…

You could use duplicate detection and then tagging to filter such list. Assuming your original and new lists are imported into separate collections, I would assign a tag to all items in both lists (use color tags and the corresponding keyboard short…

When you scroll over the Zotero URL bar icon while at http://jmlr.org/proceedings/papers/v37/zhaoa15.html, does it say "Journal of Machine Learning Research"? If no, then the detectWeb code or "target" RegExp are not matching the page (in the unmodi…

When visiting websites, Zotero can automatically redirect them through a proxy server (e.g. University library proxy)
-
Is editor initialization correct as well? I was never able to reproduce the issue you reported for that.

So when I'm in a Word doc writing--do I have to open the Zotero Standalone app too? I already have my Chrome browser running when I write.Yes, you need to have either Zotero Standalone or Firefox with Zotero installed open if you want to insert cita…
