Should be fixed now. Update your translators via Preferences -> General -> Update Now. Restart browser. Thanks for reporting!

I emailed over a week ago about another issue https://forums.zotero.org/discussion/39995/sage-journals-dont-import-subtitles-properly/ Got a response today for clarification, so I asked them to look at this thread as well. Maybe it will speed things…

This won't happen on a per-translator basis, but supplementing metadata via DOI, ISBN, etc. after the item is imported into the library is planned in general. It probably won't happen in the next few months, but, I'd say, probably within a year or s…

See link in Dan's post above. (edited)

OK, I updated the translator to cover the entire list. Give it a try. Update your translators via Preferences -> General -> Update Now and restart browser.

Not all pages have metadata on them that Zotero can extract. See first few paragraphs here https://www.zotero.org/support/kb/no_address_bar_icon

Make sure you are using your username and not email to sign in. Otherwise, provide a Debug ID for a sync attempt that says your credentials are invalid. https://www.zotero.org/support/debug_output

We'd need specific URLs to troubleshoot

What about this one? https://www.worldcat.org/title/inquiry-into-the-nature-and-causes-of-the-wealth-of-nations/oclc/167332&referer=brief_results

This could be implemented in ZotFile either on-the-fly as links are deleted, or as a feature to clean up orphaned files.

You can switch if you want. The pros of using the Firefox extension is that it currently deals better with downloading PDFs over proxies (and a couple atypical websites). It will also allow you to use automatic proxy redirection. The pros of using…

@Nils, for technical reasons, Zotero cannot add "attached" files without copying them to the Zotero data directory (i.e. how would Zotero be able to sync those files to another computer where the directory structure does not match?) @adamsmith, the…

You mean that I can directly drop the directory? No, you need to drag-drop the actual files, not the directory. I do not mind to waint as long it does not crash ... I think that indexing files is important for the later search isn't?I didn't mean to …

By telling Zotflie to move your file attachments to another location, you are re-attaching them as links. Zotero does not manage files attached as links, so, by design, no, you cannot tell Zotero to delete linked file attachments.
-
Depending on what OS you are using, you can search a directory hierarchy for PDFs, then Ctrl/Cmd+Shift+drag-drop all found items into Zotero, which would add all PDFs as links (Zotero will freeze for a considerable amount of time if you try to attac…

For the most part, ISO-8859-1 is the "Western" encoding in the list. But it actually doesn't even matter which encoding you select (other than UTF-8 and UTF-16), because all of them will export only ASCII characters (these should be encoded the same…

But, frankly, your distrust in our suggestions is somewhat... unusual

It's just evidence that it's busy doing something that's making it not respond to user input (but there's definitely stuff happening in the background) Additionally, error logs are cleared every time you restart Firefox/Zotero, so if you're killing…
-
Yes, it's just busy. If it doesn't respond for more than 10 minutes, then there's probably something unusual going on.
-
Let Firefox continue running even if it says it's not responding. That is "normal" for a large sync (it will be better in future versions of Zotero). Also, I don't think adamsmith ever said to select "no proxy" option. What he said is to "turn off"…
-
Just let Zotero/Firefox sync for some time (leave it for 10-15 minutes in non-responsive state if you have to). Not sure how large your library is, but this could happen on initial sync.

Though you can also improve upon the embedded DC terms metadata with other vocabularies, like Google/Highwire tags, PRISM and eprints vocabularies. That would also help your site be better recognized by various crawlers.

Settings from "use system proxy settings" to "auto-detect proxy settings".Which means that your system proxy is still misconfigured. So, while you're no longer experiencing issues in Firefox, you may want to figure out how to fix the proxy system-wi…

Generally speaking, deleting random files associated with your Zotero data (especially if you didn't make backups) is probably not something you want to be doing. You say that all the data is available online, so probably you didn't lose any data, b…

Where are you adding from? What happens when you try? Are you getting any errors? Are you sure the extension is not listed if you go to chrome://extensions/ ?

None of the usual developers here speak/read mandarin, which makes writing translators for Chinese websites quite a hassle. Looking at Baidu Scholar via Google Translate, though, I don't see any way to export metadata. In Google Scholar, you can go …

However, because in the current context it requires specific markup for each citation, it is just as quick for me to insert each citation in Word in the usual way; and that is what I shall do.What special markup are you referring to? The Scannable C…
