I just ran into this same problem myself. I added references to my document on one computer and was trying to edit it on another that did not have the style installed. I think Zotero needs to handle this much more gracefully. I see a couple options…

If I only copy the second one, it doesn't work and same error. If I only copy the first one, it works. So it's consistent with txt file. Must be something wrong with the second entry? Both of those records worked for me on windows. Tried it on stand…

I'll take a look at this on windows in a few hours. @adamsmith I thought you were dual-booting

i got only 3 items using dc those are "Series", "Journal Abbr" and "report number". I'm not sure what you mean by "got" there. A link to the webpage you are testing would probably be helpful. The information above is coming straight from Zotero's …

Fixed it. It now goes into notes as "Series Title: ...."

Zotero can handle a couple of these: (dc here refers to http://purl.org/dc/terms/) 2. Series using citation_series_title 9. Journal Abbr Should be picked up by dc.alternative 13. report number citation_technical_report_number 14. meeting name citati…

Try again, because it imports fine on my end. If it still does not work, we'll try to find what's at fault.

Are you sure you updated your translator from https://raw.github.com/aurimasv/translators/RIS-maevepotter/RIS-ProCite.js
-
Sorry, I think I messed something up with the RIS file. Try updating now. Conference Proceedings: Was the "Date of Meeting" and "Date of Publication" added to notes in the update? yes, at least now it will be.

some books also failed to have author map to editor, when the author role stated editor or editors. Could you provide an example? however, it looks like the editor mapping never worked for the "Manuscript" type, so that part may just be missing the …

I may have missed something, but it looks like the code has been distributed with whole copies of the Zotero core files that have been modified (translate.js and translate_item.js). The patches are actually included, but they are in between files on…

Back up your library if you haven't yet, then completely remove Zotero including the data directory and do a fresh install. See if everything is working fine then move on with spartanroc's modifications. Sounds like some of the modifications are be…

Until full GS functionality can be achieved on a 'changeless' install, whilst compromised GS functionality is an unavoidable characteristic of the 'changed' install, I don't think the inference suggested by the earlier assumption ncessarily holds. S…

When these entries are cited in text the citation style automatically drops any extra information it does not need. Zotero always tries to store the most complete entry, because some citation styles might need more information than others. But to an…

I installed spartanroc's changes and it still seems to work fine. Either way, a bug report would be helpful. EDIT: unless of course GS translator was changed to use spantanroc's translator.
-
spartanroc, there seems to be a problem with the Google Scholar translator. Items are not being saved. Also, 'Retrieve metadata' is not working. Any ideas? It seems to work fine on my end. Please start a new thread and provide a bug report

This means that (a) the list is constantly changing, and (b) the list will often be very large, and both of these things mean the tag you're interested in won't always be in the same easily accessible position, and finding it will often be quite ann…

@adamsmith, I submitted a patch last night that attempts to drop duplicate fields. I'm not 100% sure that there will be no side effects though.
-
Sorry for the delay. This was actually a bit more tricky than I expected. The updated translator is at https://raw.github.com/aurimasv/translators/RIS-maevepotter/RIS-ProCite.js Note that this is now a separate translator from the main RIS transla…

So, correct me if I'm wrong, but from the discussion in that thread, seriesTitle for report would be more appropriate as series.
-
Should I change SER to something else in the RIS-Endnote file? RIS specification defines "TY - MANSCPT" for manuscripts. You may change that in the output style. I tried that but haven't had a response. http://forums.zotero.org/discussion/22740/in-…

Zotero data model is designed with citations in mind. So generally speaking, an item that is being cited in text should include an author. From what I learned on these forums, it is quite uncommon to cite a collection of items. This is why there is…

Extent of work is also not mapping ..... RP - In File N1 - Extent of Work: 30 N1 - Notes: have pdf The unit for the extent is not indicated, so we can't be sure that this is pages and not volumes. Though for serial, this is likely pages. I don't th…

It looks like these kinds of "book long form" entries would be better off being imported as chapters? Should I actually change CHAP to BOOK? is there anything to help us get around which are actually books vs. which are chapters/articles within book…

Ooops, sorry for the post. Should have searched more carefully. Thanks for the prompt reply Adam. The following thread seems to sort of address the location part: http://forums.zotero.org/discussion/17046/item-type-conference-paper-request-for-add…

I just meant that it's not coded to store it. Seems like that was a custom version of the translator.
-
The PubMed Central translator has been updated. It will update automatically within 24 hours on your computer, or you can update manually through Zotero Prefernces
-
I'm not sure where you're getting the NCBI PubMed2.js file from or why it stores a PMCID in the extra field (NCBI PubMed translator shouldn't be storing a PMCID at all), but we can fix the PubMed Central translator.

Can you confirm that entering "file:///i:/pdf_files/Schmalzl_Ehrsson_FHN_2011.pdf" (the last entry) in firefox opens up the PDF? If it does and your import still does not work, please generate a report ID for the steps you're taking to import the R…

Ah, yes. That would have done it. If I recall correctly, everything except for Book Long Form issue should now be handled by the translator.
