I think I rewrote this a while ago to use Embedded Metadata instead of doing additional HTTP requests to get the RIS or BibTeX files. There is actually one meta tag in the header that contains the right date (citation_date), but because Wiley is du…

Are you using Firefox or Standalone (and which browser?) version of Zotero? I assume these files open in the browser for you, not in your PDF reader, am I right? If you open the file in the PDF reader, does it work? You can find the file by right …

Could you link to one or two of the articles that are failing to download properly for you?
-
Could you let us know which two PDFs failed? Link to them online if possible

Unfortunately, I cannot reproduce this after installing colorful tabs. If you still care to troubleshoot this, Turing off one of them eliminates the issue. Were you testing this with just Zotero and Colorful Tabs enabled? If not, then you could try…

Just a quick thought, but I think if someone really wanted to make an addon for zotero that would work like word/LO addons, you could do something like RTF scan, except that you would format the citation and bibliography and enclose the formatted st…

If you haven't tried so yet, can you try disabling all the other addons and see if firefox still fails to restore/maximize? Some other things you can try to help troubleshoot this: Go to Control Panel->System What's your System Rating? Then g…

Better 'eprints' compatibility would help me a lot. Unfortunately, as far as I can tell, there is no standard for eprints metadata. The closest thing to any sort of schema documentation that I found for eprints comes from a third party site. If ther…

@Marmach Are you also seeing the flickering describe by ChrisDann above? when minimised, not maximising again. Clicking on the tab in the Systray causes the screen to flicker but does not maximise the window. If not, then do you see any part of Fire…

-hearing: "a gavel?" (Dan) => There is auction-hammer-gavel.png (fugue) or ear-listen.png that I've used. FWIW, I like Dan's idea of using auction-hammer-gavel from fugue. Finding an abstraction for administrative orders is surprisingly hard. I t…

For the record, the consolidated table is at https://github.com/aurimasv/translators/wiki/RIS-Tag-Map and a narrow version is available at https://github.com/aurimasv/translators/wiki/RIS-Tag-Map-(narrow)

I agree with noksagt, Zotero should export strictly (unless there's no appropriate field at all) in the written RIS specification. We can, however, accommodate a lot deviations from the spec when importing. If EndNote cannot import RIS spec properly…

I think technically that's the same style. When you want to mention the author as part of the sentence and cite him/her at the same time you just include the year in the citation since repeating the author in the parentheses would be redundant.
-
Use Harvard style and select suppress author when inserting citation. http://www.zotero.org/support/word_processor_plugin_usage#quick_format_citation_dialog Edit: should have figured Adam would beat me to it. Typing on phone be slow.
-
I'll also have to bump this. Spent more time trying to figure out how to log in than I did editing the wiki.
-
Let me know if you want a tutorial on this anywhere that I could write up to contribute to the project I'll have to see how much of the modified translator we can merge into Zotero's RIS translator. Hopefully I can make all of the changes play along…

EDIT: Is there a problem with direct copying the Zotero data directory of one account, ie. maevepotter, to a different account? Should be safe http://www.zotero.org/support/kb/transferring_a_library
-
No problem at all. Let us know when you're done importing all your items and there are no more bugs that we can iron out. I'll try to incorporate this translator into the main RIS translator, so that everything is streamlined in the future

@adamsmith Actually, authors in ProCite are entered with // separating each author, but for most workforms ProCite exports authors with ^pA1 - separator, but for Book Short Form, the separator is set to //
-
You'll have to fix the output style. // between authors is not part of the RIS specification. If you go to edit the style, Bibliography tab, Book Short Form. Click "Configure Fields" (top of the window, right under font selector). Select, Authors (…
-
I don't think we'll be able to support something like that. Are the authors entered properly in ProCite? If they are, then we may have to edit the export format for Book Short Form.
-
Try searching for Workform = "Book Long Form" AND #4 = EMPTY I think books don't have "Title, Analytic" Workform = "Book Long Form" AND #4 = NOT EMPTY should return all journal articles.

-thesis: graduation-hat.png (fugue): I like this suggestion (I thought about it but did not want to change too many icons). If we adopt it, should we change report as I did (see above)? Just something to consider: we can overlay the graduation hat o…

A globe could work, but I'm not sure about having a different page size (which would be the case for any Fugue page icons). Also, I'd prefer globe-small-green, whereas that seems to use globe-small-blue, which looks too much like a big blue dot. We …

A couple more thoughts: document-globe for web page script-text for bill graduation-hat for thesis cassette-label for audio recording (though I guess if scroll wheel ipods are considered "on their way out" this might be too ancient for the young…
-
Maybe I don't understand the bill icon, but to me the current manuscript icon (scroll-like document) seems more like a bill/law. Though I see how that could be confusing if it's switched at this point.

Spaces should be fine for DOI and PMID, but I was concerned about ISBNs. Clearly users tend to paste ISBNs with spaces, since Simon recently pushed a patch to remove spaces from ISBN Unless, of course, you don't want to use the magic wand box for t…
-
I guess we can just make the magic wand text box expandable into a multi-line box, since comma separated DOIs would not work. Unless you want to split by space. IMO new line would make sense.
-
We can probably make an import translator that could import lists of identifiers from files. Though we would need some way to identify such files and possibly specify the identifier type. A unique header like "IDENTIFIER_LIST DOI" followed by a new…

I've recently started writing a paper and gathering sources mostly through pubmed. This same issue was slightly annoying to me, so I started thinking about ways to streamline pubmed translator. I think now that 3.0.4 came out and we can do cross dom…
