dominicv, you wouldn't happen to be using the French interface of ProQuest, would you? I can reproduce the same error if I switch to French. Try using English (there is a selector at the top). We should probably rethink the ProQuest translator to w…

dominicv (or Dan), what version of Zotero are you using? The current version is 3.0.7. Update if it's anything else.

Could you provide the URL of the search results page? Also, does importing a single record work (I don't mean one record from the search results. click on one of the records in the results and try importing then)? Finally, follow 3-6 and 11 on the…

I updated the Springer Science+Business Media translator to recognize that site and fixed the PDF import. It will update on your machine automatically within 24 hours or you can update manually from Zotero preferences.

@fbennet I think we're looking at different versions of the RDF translator. Line 305 seems like an odd place to add that line. Either way, I'm pretty sure I know what you are getting at. IMO the real issue here is that for some reason the RDF looku…

OK, nevermind that. I can reproduce it. Was using a fresh Zotero profile that did not have the most recent translators. I should have a fix in a little bit. It seems frank and I were working on this at the same time.

Yes. Windows 7 x64

I cannot reproduce this with your RDF file on Zotero Standalone 3.0.7. Could you verify that your folder structure looks like │ Exported Items.rdf │ └───files ├───836 │ chemcomm10_6822.pdf │ ├───838 │ OL11_4288_Oxi…

Are you talking about the titles displaying in Zotero or when you're citing them in Word/LibreOffice/etc? Either way, using α (alpha character) should work. If you're talking about citing in Word, then maybe there is something going on with the par…

IMO, the right-click option exists because of items that are imported by translators. Quite frequently the metadata (including titles and author names) is presented online in all upper case. Many translators check for this and transform titles into …

Dan wrote: The concern, of course, would be people just using Zotero itself or using Zotero data in ways other than via the CSL processor (or maybe the subset of those people who are 1) in the humanities and 2) in the US). Maybe if we considered sp…

But if you remove the "Transform to Title Case" option, then those of us who use it--and I use it a lot--will have to make changes by hand[...] The argument is that you should not do this. If the citation style requires title case, it can do the co…

So does this mean that the processor *should* be retaining all-caps for acronyms but is not for some reason? That seems to be what the specification is saying and I believe Frank fixed it. it just might take a while for the end-user to get the upda…

the transform feature makes changing those to title case in the collection very easy I would argue that Zotero should not offer the Transform to title case option. This should only be done by the CSL processor. But I guess that's another discussion.

IMO the auto capitalization should only happen if all letters in the word are lower case. (i.e. word.toLowerCase() === word) Consider titles that contain words (from bio contexts) like "mRNA" (acronym) or "alamarBlue" (registered trademark). The in…

I'm interested in this as well, but this thread might be a better place to continue the discussion.

Thanks for reporting. The translator has been fixed. it will update automatically within 24 hours or you can update manually from Zotero preferences.

Updated NPG and Wiley translators are now available. Zotero will update automatically within 24 hours or you can update manually from Zotero preferences.
-
dwl-sdca do you have links to the papers on those sites? I fixed Wiley and NPG, so if you provide some samples, I'll try to make it work.

As adamsmith mentioned, have you tried disabling other Firefox addons? It looks like the problem is very intermittent, so I imagine that you might not want to disable all the addons for a long time. Start with the ones you don't use very often in th…

Thank you for reporting. The problem was caused by the title of that article being a number. Unfortunately, this will only be fixed with a new version of Zotero. In the mean time, you will have to attach the PDF file manually. EDIT: And since the …

The data directory is separate for separate windows accounts unless you specifically set it to be the same. To use the flag in windows, open the run dialog (windows key + R), hit browse to find zotero standalone. Once you select zotero executable, …

I found this tutorial video for Hinari. Looks like it's just a simple proxy, which prefixes "hinari-gw.who.int/whalecom" to the URL. I'm not very familiar with how proxy detection and handling works in Zotero, but ability to detect or even manually…

The cookie looked right. @nicolasfabian Could you do a couple things to help troubleshoot this? 1) After going to http://scholar.google.de/scholar?hl=de&q=megaherbivores+hypthesis&btnG=&lr= how many links do you see under the first ent…

Thanks. I've seen Google complain this way before. It might happen if the cookie is not set correctly. The translator should report what it's setting the cookie to. Could you post that message?

@Dan or Simon, is there something to go off of in that debug report? Debug ID is D1235796962

That seems to work for me. Make sure you have the latest translators installed (http://www.zotero.org/support/troubleshooting_translator_issues point #5). Also I would follow Gracile's suggestion about updating Zotero (but that shouldn't matter in t…

So basically you disabled character replacement for exporting the library, which now matches cmd+shift+c behavior. When you use cmd+shift+c zotero uses a CSL style to format a reference, which is different and separate from the translator. As I ment…

It should be ok to store PDFs on dropbox. The only thing that may cause problems is if you put your entire Zotero data directory (particularly the sqlite files) on dropbox and sync it between multiple computers.
