@adamsmith, Dan, Simon, etc. Can someone else confirm that this is not working?

Which suggestion did you follow? Are you sure you are looking in the right place? http://imgur.com/qLNLW

The issue number (1) is supplied by BMC as issue number. That's why Zotero puts it there. If the issue is supposed to be blank, BMC should not supply the issue number in the metadata. This should be reported to BMC. Zotero retrieves metadata from t…

I think I know what the problem is now. Currently Zotero will not attach links to items if you have disabled PDF attachments in Zotero preferences. This will be fixed in the next Zotero version that is due by the end of the week. If you want to hav…

As noted above, the URL is saved as a link attachment. Since this is not a URL for the actual article, it is not supposed to be included in citations. If you have another use case for this, please let us know.

This page works on my end. Please make sure your translators are up to date (Preferences -> General -> Update Now). You will need to refresh the page after updating the translators. Otherwise, go through these steps and provide a Report ID fr…

file = {Towards a unified system of noise assessment.PDF:1970s\\Towards a unified system of noise assessment.PDF:PDF} That is an invalid file path (at least on a Windows system). Zotero should still import the item without an attachment, but it curr…

This will be a bit complicated to fix. Technically, the translator works. The problem is that clicking on "Details" does not exactly trigger Zotero to check if the new page is recognized. In the mean time, you can reload the tweet page and the URL b…

Please provide a sample .bib file that fails to import. You can paste it on gist.github.com or pastebin.com or something similar.

Automatically downloading PDFs for references that are already in Zotero is not currently possible, but it is a frequently requested feature and it is planned for some time in the future (not very soon though). However, where PDFs are available, im…

I cannot reproduce this. The only problem I'm seeing is Snapshots not being attached for all items, which is a known issue and will be resolved in the next Zotero release (should be out by the end of the week) What version of Zotero are you using (…

That's assuming that they don't use other forms of HTML special characters. How about "(&[^\s;]+) and"? I guess I don't have a problem with the hex-only form if you feel that it's good enough.

Good call. A regex replace was indeed trivial. Edit: Oh, and I sent them a message about this bug. @jpjacobs The translator should automatically update within 24 hours, or you can update manually from Preferences -> General -> Update Now.

Looks like IEEE Xplore BibTeX generating algorithm is doing something like authors.replace(/;/g, " and") This is obviously not compatible with HTML encoded special characters. IEEE Xplore should be notified of this issue, but in the mean time we mi…

This _might_ be related to a recent BibTeX update (though i don't think it should). Try disabling translator updates under Preferences and manually downgrading the translator to the version here https://raw.github.com/zotero/translators/e5dd4c75630e…

I believe this is currently to be expected while using proxies and connectors with standalone. I don't think this will be improved in the immediate future. Using Zotero with Firefox is currently the best choice for proxies.

Besides what DWL-SDCA recommends (and if that method is not able to extract metadata), the "correct" (more convenient perhaps) way to do this would be to right-click the files you dragged in and select "Create Parent Item from Selected Item". This w…

Regarding the empty/invalid BibTeX entries. My speculation is that you are trying to export standalone attachments and/or notes rather than items (i.e. Journal Articles, Book Sections, Books, etc.). At least that is the exact output you would get. …

This should now be fixed. You can wait 24 hours for the translator to update automatically, or you can update manually via Preferences -> General -> Update Now

@Dan, Simon, adamsmith, Has this been fixed? I thought I saw a commit addressing this issue, but I can't find it right now. Perhaps I'm imagining.

I think Snapshots failing to attach is probably related to the discussion here. I fixed the translator to side-step this bug. It will now save snapshots for all items, but it is a bit slower. Don't be surprised if Firefox/Zotero is non-responsive fo…

Is it still not working with any of the links posted above? I seem to be able to import citations and PDFs in both Firefox and Zotero Standalone + Chrome. Could you generate a Debug ID for an attempt to save an item where a PDF does not get downloa…

When using the proxy settings described above and entering a JSTOR stable URL, I didn't get the expected results (E.g. when entering www.jstor.org/stable/301881, I did get redirected to http://erf.sbb.spk-berlin.de/han/359218229/%h/stable/301881 and…

Pushed out another update to the translator. You can wait for the translator to update automatically within 24 hours or update manually from Preferences -> General -> Update Now Please let us know if something is still not working.

Thanks for your help. The problem with RIS import should be fixed in the next Zotero release (3.0.9)

This should now be fixed (at least for the page you link to above). You can wait for the translator to update automatically within 24 hours or update manually from Preferences -> General -> Update Now

I know the Zotero documentation recommends importing via RIS not Bibtex, but it choked on RIS, I'm guessing due to illegal characters or over-length in the import string. would you mind spending some time helping us debug RIS import issues? Are yo…

several "mass actions" are planned. I don't think that deleting tags is on that list though. Could you tell us exactly how Zotero imported tags incorrectly? I'm interested in fixing that part.

First, I don't think this is a good idea, but... Technically you can customize the translator yourself. PubMed does serve initials along with full names, so this would not be too hard. You can find the translator in your Zotero data directory (NCBI…
