Besides what DWL-SDCA writes, I'm trying to figure this out from a technical implementation point of view. I would assume that if you had a feature to crowd-source the reference metadata, then the metadata that would be picked as correct would be t…

The RIS documentation (http://www.refman.com/support/risformat_intro.asp) says T2 for journal title, but Zotero can be a bit more forgiving and export journal title in JO and J2 fields to support software that does not follow specification. Though i…

Right, didn't think about the code output. It's not quite the same, but it's a good alternative in most cases. I was trying to link to a page showing all Harvard styles. That would not be possible with code view, though it's easy enough to say "sea…

In EndNote: search with pubmed result 5, and moved to group pubmed search with ovid result 4, and moved to group ovid now, I need to remove duplicate in these two groups. just go to references -- find duplicate -- and I choose "keep" result : group…

This looks to be fixed in the upcoming 3.0.11 release. I'm guessing it will be out very soon, since this is a pretty serious bug.

The core developer team will have to tackle this one. (Edit: @or10918, Firefox plugin does not appear to be affected by this) @Simon, Dan, If it helps, this is the exception that's being thrown when attaching a PDF: 'message' => "cannot use th…

I can reproduce this. This is related to http://forums.zotero.org/discussion/25058/science-direct-chrome-plugin-pdf/ Please follow that thread for further developments. I will post an update here once this is resolved.
-
Edit: Sorry for the confusion. Please ignore what I said before. I can reproduce this. Looking into it. Go through steps 3, 4, 5, 6 here: http://www.zotero.org/support/troubleshooting_translator_issues If that doesn't help, provide a debug ID: htt…

In that case you can just Google it, which is only slightly less convenient, but a lot more flexible than a built-in search interface in Zotero. Or use the magic wand tool to put in a DOI and it will import an article automatically, but that's not u…

...but does help to identify smaller sets as well as not having to rely on textual indexing as well as PDFs that are not OCR text. How can PDFs be identified on any database without looking at their content? If we could reliably identify article/boo…

Exporting via Group will not transfer the link data or does it? (and is not allowed in our plant). Group sync does not allow attaching links to files, so you're right that this would not work. Your case is rather special, since local file links woul…

It does look very nice, but at first glance it makes it look like Word integration is only available for Firefox plugin. Also, a nit, but it's recommending safari plugin on an android device.
-
I'm guessing that it is importing the first 200 or so bookmarks. Look for the next bookmark that failed to import and delete it. See if that allows the import to go through. Post the bookmark that Zotero cannot handle here.

Is your Zotero (Firefox plugin) up to date? It should be version 3.0.10 If it is, then provide a Debug ID for an attempt to save a snapshot for that page.
-
If it were possible for Zotero to identify DOIs and follow them to the publishers' sites and grab metadata there, I would be really pleased. This is likely how Google Scholar and PubMed translators are going to evolve. I'm still working out some of …

But what about clicking on the Google scholar search result? Doesn't that typically take you to the publisher's website? Either way, without full text indexing I don't see how we can use MSAS.

This should now be fixed. You can wait for the translator to update automatically within 24 hours or update manually via Preferences -> General -> Update Now. Please report any remaining problems.

We are working on integrating DataCite and other DOI registration agencies (http://www.doi.org/registration_agencies.html), but in my experience so far, I have not seen papers with DataCite-issued DOIs. According to the doi.org page and datacite, th…

I don't think MS Academic Search indexes manuscript content. Searching for a sentence from a few abstracts I had on hand did not return any results. Also their metadata is much worse than Google Scholar (from my experience). It seems to be user gene…

On one hand, we can try to trick Google Scholar into thinking Zotero is not a script by delaying requests by a random number of seconds (maybe doing some other magic), but I'm not sure we should be in the business of tricking Google (idk what the Zo…

It just loads and loads. What do you mean by this? At what stage is it loading? Does the snapshot appear in Zotero? I do see non-stop loading when I open up the snapshot (the snapshot saves correctly in Zotero though). It seems that some remote ser…

@adamsmith, I figured it out in case you're working on it. We werent' unescaping HTML special entities in the URL before using it. Will push it out in a minute.

It goes into the collection ("folder") you have selected in Zotero.

please provide sample URLs where the abstract or PDF is not being imported.

The title of that article is "The Human Tradition in Modern Japan by Anne Walthall" and can be seen in the pdf and on the page for the entire Vol.29 here: My understanding is that, while the string "The Human Tradition in Modern Japan by Anne Waltha…

I'm seeing some other issues, but the [untitled] is coming directly from JSTOR. I don't think there is anything we will be able to do about that. See http://www.jstor.org/stable/25064365 (note the [untitled] on the right). I'm not entirely sure what…

I can reproduce this. I'll see what I can do to fix this over the weekend.
