Maybe it's because of how websites are typically laid out, but the first time I went looking for that link, my eyes ignored everything below the thinking that it was the page footer and I could not find the link. I had to come back here and re-read…

What is likely happening is that Standalone and Zotero for Firefox are using different data directories, but they are getting synchronized through zotero.org You can try disabling sync and then adding an item to one of them and see if it appears in…

Sorry for the delay. I'll finish it up this weekend.

Turns out there was a way to get pure BibTeX for each record. The translator for Jahrbuch is now up. You can wait for it to be downloaded automatically within 24 hours or update manually via Preferences... -> General -> Update Now Let us kno…

Elsevier (with titles, alphabetical) or ACM SIG Proceedings http://www.zotero.org/styles

this is likely fixed by https://github.com/zotero/zotero/pull/207

while for pure backup purposes, whole system backups are possibly superior, I still think we should make migrating a library to another computer or a fresh system install more user friendly than it is now. it's somewhere on my todo list, but I don't…

I don't own Papers, but I think currently your options are either RIS or BibTeX export. I'm not sure if Papers supports file attachments in either of these formats, but Zotero does have the option of exporting both RIS and BibTeX files with file att…

Could you provide URLs of pages that are not working exactly as you see them in the URL bar?
-
Looks like we can actually improve on dates as well. I'll also have to tweak the RIS translator a bit (for some reason "print" is imported into the date field). Will get to this some time today.
-
I don't recall ATM, but I think it had something to do with dates. Also, with the overall movement to abbreviation lists, IMO, this should eventually not be a problem at all. I'll see what we can do in the mean time.
-
Should be fixed now. You can update the translator manually via Preferences... -> General -> Update Now or wait for it to update automatically within the next 24 hours. If something else is not working let us know and provide a sample URL.

I started looking into this. AFAICT, the only structured data is the TeX export. I'm thinking that we can probably transform this into proper BibTeX and then use that translator to import the record. Any better ideas?

It's not impossible. In fact what adamsmith meant by (it's possible in CSL/Zotero, though, with relatively little trouble). Is that you can modify the style yourself to get it to behave the way you want it to. In JoME style, if you replace …

I'm not aware of a page that lists user-created styles (i.e. not associated with official publications). Many of the styles at http://www.zotero.org/styles are contributed by the users, but I don't think that's what you meant. What problems are you…

Make sure that what you say is the same author is actually entered exactly the same way in Zotero. Smith, Adam is not the same as Smith, A., which is not the same as Smith, A (note the period) At least in Cell, I can see that there is currently an …

I see. however changing the style doesnt necessarily change the bibliography either. I'm not entirely sure what you mean by "does not necessarily". Does it change some times but not others or does it not change your bibliography at all?? If your bib…

Do you by any chance have a link to where Cell specifies the citation requirements? Their documentation at http://www.cell.com/authors#sections is extremely vague. Furthermore, looking at http://www.cell.com/abstract/S0092-8674(12)01546-2 (open acc…

Which citation style are you using?
-
As you say, that page contains COinS and DOIs, which Zotero prefers over Embedded Metadata (which I think is what it would typically use to fetch generic blog pages). If you are using Firefox, you could right-click on the folder icon and choose to …

I have a feeling that adamsmith does not have access to the PDFs (and neither do I). When you go to the link in your first post, and click on the PDF link, does the PDF show up in the whole window or is there other content on the page? If the PDF i…

we'll probably add EndNote XML format in the not too distant future.

As I said above. if you were able to import any RIS file with attachments, post a sample entry here and we can figure out the difference.

correct

You're right, I should have said "most batch imports"
-
There is currently a bug in Zotero that is causing this. It will be fixed in the next Zotero release. Thank you for reporting and sorry for the inconvenience. Edit: This is actually affecting all batch imports.
-
are there any other changes that you've noticed?
-
It imports correctly on my end. Run through these steps: http://www.zotero.org/support/troubleshooting_translator_issues If the problem persists, post back your OS, browser, Zotero versions and the Report ID.

One way linking should not be too difficult to achieve (adding cross-references in Word) I think two way linking (as described by DWL-SDCA) would also be possible in Word, with a bit of work. I don't think that it would be possible to transfer such…
