if you can post a RIS entry from Zotero and a RIS entry from another manager that imports properly, we might be able to figure something out.
-
The idea was that downloading the Zotero XPI on your home computer corrupts it. This could be either because of your network or because of some software on your home computer. Thus, it is unlikely that changing browsers would make much of a differen…

Can you install other extensions?

It's not very streamlined, but you can save pages as they appear using Mozilla Archive Format, with MHT and Faithful Save extension. The nice thing is that it will save the entire page (as you see it, I tested it on the npr site) in a single file. T…

Looks like that can be easily integrated. As far as I can tell, importing lists is already possible. We would just need to attach notes, right?
-
You're right. We'll see what we can do about that.

What version of Zotero do you have installed? And while you're at it, what OS and what Firefox version are you running? The proxy you are using is a bit uncommon (it adds a "0-" prefix). Zotero recently added support for that, but it is in the curr…

There is currently a bug in Zotero that is causing this issue. A patch has been submitted to address this. This should be fixed in the next Zotero release, which is due shortly. Thank you for reporting.

I reverted the HTML escaping changes we recently introduced. Let us know if the export is still not working.

I have recently encountered two problems. The first one concerns exporting a collection (or a single entry) to the bibtex format. The error message states "An error occurred while trying to export the selected file" with the window caption "[JavaScr…

Notice the line that starts JO. It says CHEST Journal which is the full name. There is no line for an abbreviation, so somehow, I think Zotero is translating this with a wrong abbreviation. For what it's worth, if either journal title or journal abb…

Saving a snapshot with Zotero for Firefox should capture the page as you see it. Currently saving snapshots from Chrome or Safari forces Zotero to reload the page in which case it might not capture comments loaded after page is done loading. For com…

Dan, from the description it sounded like something may have thrown an exception, but the progress dialog never closed. I guess there would be no way to send the debug ID then. Anyway, my bad for not thinking this through.
-
could you generate a debug ID ( www.zotero.org/support/debug_output ) for your attempt to import the entries above? How forgiving is Zotero concerning the spaces after the 2-letter tag and "-"? IIRC we allow either one or two spaces. Also whatever …

I'm looking into this. I can reproduce this problem with large RIS files (~15,000 entries), but I do not see this happening with 5 entries. I can import ~300 references in about 10 seconds. Make sure your RIS translator is up to date: Step 5 here: …

I think Dan is pretty much suggesting the same thing here (i.e. what he suggest for migration). RFC 4646 specification is quite granular. I'm not sure how feasible it would be to implement it completely (other than language and regional codes) in th…

One of the things I'd like to do in MLZ is to replace the free-text Language field with a controlled list pulldown, which should eliminate this potential source of confusion. What are your thoughts on how the translators are supposed to handle this?…
-
@Simon, we should probably log item title and/or ID on Zotero.nextItem(). Even better, we can include it in the thrown exception.
-
I can't get it to trigger an error, but I do see that there is a problem with exporting fields that contain unbalanced < characters. If you can track down which entry in your library is causing this error, we can probably fix this quickly. On a …

This is fixed by https://github.com/zotero/zotero/pull/207 That change is not included in Zotero 3.0.11. It will be included in the next Zotero release.

If you really really want to get the links back in the URL field, here is a custom version of the PubMed translator that is functional as of this writing. This brings back old behavior. I do not recommend using it and I do not promise to remember to…

Thanks to Frank, the Zotero CSL mappings now include Zotero UI labels. I also fixed the CSL variable mappings discussed here. http://aurimasv.github.com/z2csl/typeMap.xml

if you have a list of ISBNs, that could speed up imports into Zotero. Otherwise you can just search for books on worldcat.org and import from there. there is no bulk import solution for your situation.
-
Could you post the complete RIS record? I.e. from TY to ER. Is there any reason you are not using the URL bar icon to import records from EBSCO? Is the icon not showing up for you? This should result in better imports, including PDFs (when using Fi…

Thanks for starting a new thread. As I mentioned previously, I am unable to reproduce the problem you are seeing with memory increase, but I do see that Zotero gets progressively slower at importing references to a point where it seems to stop. I w…

Though I understand the points against, I agree with the critical importance of the URLs in citations and would really love to get them back. In the meanwhile I found a not very happy solution: immediately after adding the PubMed item to Zotero, I c…

@cachi, First and foremost, we should move this discussion to another thread. This is unrelated to the original poster's question (sorry I didn't realize this earlier). Please start a new thread in the import/export category and copy your last post…

I've never tested RIS imports with libraries this large. I'll investigate this, but first I need to generate 60,000 bibliographic entries :-) Zotero freezing up during large imports like that is not entirely surprising (if you wait it out, it should…

But I'm certainly willing to be convinced that we need a publisher field for webpages. I don't have any authoritative sources on hand (though I see some are available in my library), but it looks like at least the MLA style requires "publisher". I'…
