I have not seen anyone report this before (not recently anyway), but I can replicate it, so it's not just you. fbennett will have to take a look at this when he comes around.

Take this url: http://www.who.int/foodsafety/publications/fs_management/No_05_Bisphenol_A_Nov09_en.pdf [...] Today, I save the same page ("make new entry from web-page"). Zotero gives me an entry with no titel! Also, the pdf has no title. If you us…

Why don't you just download and install from http://www.zotero.org/download/
-
@adamsmith, I can replicate this. I'll look into it some time today or tomorrow.
-
The action I perform is just the standard one: I click the icon "Make a new entry out of this website". Then, I choose from the drop down menue "add snapshot". OK, I was able to reproduce this. One important detail is that you have to have Adobe Acr…

And it'd be nice if this could be made to at least look human-friendly (e.g., with commas (or nothing) instead of pipes). I think this will be quite challenging unless the freeform cite rules are made to be quite strict. Or, if we make the item key …
-
In the current design, dropping separators would introduce ambiguity: in a marker with three slots, the first two could be a prefix followed by a human-readable cite, a human-readable cite followed by a locator, or a human-readable cite followed by…

1. As I was saying before, please describe exactly what steps you are taking to perform this action (I can't replicate it, but there are potentially several ways of doing this). You can also provide a Debug ID for this action. 2. Try re-installing …

Though we should probably add the "Create Bibliography" option to the library context menu. Any reason not to?
-
Whenever I attach a PDF as a "snapshot" How exactly are you performing this? Also a URL would be helpful even if this problem is not specific to any particular URL. I cannot change the application for PDFs from "Acrobate" to "Acrobate in Firefox". …

You can use Zotero Standalone and the Chrome connector http://www.zotero.org/download/ A full-featured Zotero extension for Chrome is probably not going to happen. Certainly not any time in the foreseeable future.
-
odd. looks like adding a tag did not change the modified date, so I'm guessing the sync would have deleted all the items you restored. I'll try to replicate this tomorrow. Syncing would be the solution to your previous question about changed items.
-
Is there a safe way to find out which entries in the now restored older zotero.sqlite file have changed in newer versions of zotero.sqlite? Not exactly sure what you mean by "changed" here. If you synced your library with zotero.org before all of t…

Chances are not very high. Especially because this has to work for everyone without too many knobs, buttons, and options. Other people do care about most of the fields, so we can't just ignore them by default. This could be implemented as a Zotero e…
-
No, not currently, but how do you imagine this happening? Duplicates often contain different information in various fields that you need to choose to keep or discard. I simply can't think of the interface that would facilitate merging all duplicates…

here's what I had in mind. technical details to follow if everyone else thinks this will work. sync new database to Zotero.org. turn off internet. restore old database. disable sync. identify references that we're cited from the old database (I.e …
-
you wouldn't happen to have a backup of your database prior to re-imoirting those references, would you?

Can you confirm that you are running the latest Firefox (20.0.1), Zotero for Firefox (4.0.8), and Zotero Standalone (4.0.8)? And just to be clear, when Standalone is closed, you import from asm.org into Zotero for Firefox. You can then see the PDF …
-
When you have Standalone open and you click on the Zotero button in Firefox, what happens? Does the Standalone window pop up, or do you see the Zotero window inside Firefox?
-
That should be working. It's working for me. Does the PDF import if you close Standalone? I.e. can you see it when you open Zotero in Firefox?
-
Only Zotero Standalone has an installer. https://github.com/zotero/zotero-standalone-build/tree/master/win/installer

Assuming you know how to edit styles (http://www.zotero.org/support/dev/citation_styles/style_editing_step-by-step), you would use for the map part http://citationstyles.org/downloads/specification.html#text unfortunately, I don't think there is a…
-
ok. if it stops working, let us know before messing around with it too much. we might be able to debug this.
-
Before you begin, you should have a backup of the document you are working on. First, as DWL-SDCA hints, make sure you don't actually have any duplicate citations in your library using Zotero's duplicate detection and merging tool If this doesn't …
-
Not exactly sure what you mean with the above post. Did you resolve the issue completely? The directories do not need to be the same. That would defeat the whole purpose of this feature. If you describe in more detail how you're attaching links and…
-
You can add "Publication", which for book sections/chapters is the book title.
-
you should leave that and="symbol" http://citationstyles.org/downloads/specification.html#name

This variation in escape characters is the main reason I got frustrated with the BibTeX rewrite. I have some ideas how to handle these, but it's a bit of a PITA. Once the new BibTeX translator is released it will support all variants of escaping (or…

It would be helpful (and speed up the process of updating the style) if you pointed out exactly what is incorrect.
