if you _want_ to use Zotero Standalone with Chrome/Safari for your work account, when you install Standalone, do _not_ tell it to share data directory with Zotero for Firefox (prompt appears on first start I believe). If you want, you can still use…

OK, here's what I'm thinking. The original reasoning to choose PDFs with links never really satisfied me. Links are a convenience, legible figures when reading a scientific paper are a must. I think we need to revert to the high-res version. We _can…

Zotero for Firefox does everything that Standalone does plus a couple other features. The only "downside" is that it's embedded into Firefox.
-
We could offer this as a hidden option, but the problem is that most people will never discover the option. It might be worth contacting ACS to see if they could add links to the high res PDF. Then everyone would win.
-
I'll cross the attachment bridge once I get there - I'd love to get them, but since this is mainly a library catalog, I don't think many people expect them. We're here to shatter expectations :-)
-
@adamsmith I'm not sure if you noticed, but there is a "Full Record" button, which displays more metadata. Also, it may be hard to include file attachments. A lot of them are links to other webpages, but some are direct links to PDFs. If we let Zot…

@DWL-SDCA, odd. This has not happened to me. What do you normally have your privacy settings set to?
-
Added. Take a look (step 7). Step 11 is now, naturally, step 12. http://www.zotero.org/support/troubleshooting_translator_issues
-
A bit of a stab in the dark, but what are your privacy settings in Firefox? Do you maybe have Firefox set to not remember cookies? or not allow third party cookies?
-
@fbennett, sorry if I missed this, but what does "default" in the abbreviation list refer to. I understand that it's the locale, but where is this default value taken from? Does it mean that unless the locale matches some other entry in the list, th…

They should be. And they should be updated automatically every 24 hours unless you have the option disabled in preferences.

Posting here is fine, but it is working fine for me. Maybe you mean downloading PDF attachments? If not, go through http://www.zotero.org/support/troubleshooting_translator_issues If you get to step 11 and your issue is not fixed, we'll probably n…

you cannot import items into Zotero based on ISSN. ISSN is a unique identifier for a journal, not an article, so I'm not sure what you expect to import using an ISSN. You are getting PubMed items because PubMed IDs are (for the most part) 8 digits l…

I just checked this via ezproxy and it's working for me. It may be related to EBSCOhost Integrated Search (ehis), which I do not have access to (I think). @bsundstrom, if you go to http://search.epnet.com through your proxy and search for that arti…

@Dan, but that's Zotero for Firefox, so is it not sending cookies? Can you tell from the log? Edit: and can you see what the original URL was vs the request for RIS? Is there session info embedded in the URL or something?
-
also, if there is no private information (e.g. notes) in that RIS file, could you post it on http://gist.github.com and link to it here?
-
Update to 4.0.8 and give it another go. If that doesn't work, you can try deleting the "_RIS import" tag (it marks note attachments created during import that contain data, which could not be stored in Zotero fields. so do whatever clean up you nee…

What version of Zotero (and Firefox)?
-
You can't use EndNote styles with Zotero.
-
I'll take a look at this tomorrow. Don't bother manually changing bibliography. You can just continue writing with whichever style you want and then change it to the correct style in the end (once it's ready). @adamsmith Any chance you know a style…
-
It looks like the "Status bar icon" setting is being reset when you change "Load Zotero In", which seems like a bug @Dan, I think I fixed that here (see last commit): https://github.com/zotero/zotero/pull/309
-
Even for author-date styles you have to keep in mind that Zotero does author disambiguation by adding initials where authors with the same last name are used in text. I understand what you are requesting and it would be nice to have, but you have to…
-
I grep'ed and all other author-date styles with second-field-align have either a numbered bibliography or an identifier (e.g. din-1505-2-alphanumeric) So this seems to be the odd one out.
-
Good point. I guess the fix is straightforward then. Could you take care of it?
-
not in the works AFAIK and I don't see how it would be possible. in-text citations require two way communication. How would zotero.org know if you already cited a particular source so it can reuse the same number, or, even more difficult, how would …
-
@Dan, can you tell from the debug log how the ProQuest translator is even able to pick the serialssolutions.com page up? It doesn't look like Zotero would be able to deproxify those URLs. Is there an embedded iframe? I also don't see any way to acc…
-
For that one, that's the way the title is presented in the BibTeX. We can probably normalize this on import for all translators. Though I'm wondering if there is any advantage to this other than aesthetics. Do you have a link for this? And some of …

1, 3, and 4 I've thought about quite a bit and I have done ideas, so I'll give it a shot maybe before 4.1 2, what translator are these coming from? I'll have to think about how to generalize that, but an example would be helpful.
