All characters are allowed inside CDATA. We shouldn't be stripping off the CDATA part. xpath's are smart enough to work around it.

Are you trying to report a problem? If so, I'm not clear on what exactly is not working. Or are you saying that you need a ScienceDirect account to download PDFs? In which case, that should not be necessary. If you can access the PDF on the webpage…

And what about adamsmith's question? When you click the URL bar icon, where does it say that the items are being saved (it would be at the top of the Zotero pop-up)? Edit: also, please provide a Debug ID from Zotero Standalone for an attempt to sav…

For JCP, PDF downloads will not work currently through connectors because of this issue (it's downloading the PDF from scitation.aip.org, while the page is at jcp.aip.org. I think for ACS, there is _sometimes_ a sort of CAPTCHA that comes up when t…

How are you importing? What Zotero are you using: Standalone or Firefox add-on? version? Are you sure the import completes without errors?
-
In Safari, open Zotero Preferences (right-click anywhere on a webpage and select “Zotero Preferences…”). In the General tab under Zotero Standalone, what does it say?
-
OK, the issue with "1966/07-1966/10/31" being parsed as "1966" should now be fixed. You can update the translator via Preferences... -> General -> Update Now
-
I can't, but I'm also not sure why it parses as "1966" (same as you see). Edit: nvm, I still can't replicate, but I'll fix this.
-
I'll have to think about whether we can support such date ranges. Maybe we can do some sanity checking and leave the dates unparsed if they don't look like normal dates. Edit: but either way, let us know if you're using the custom translator
-
No, my comment was not directly related to the issue you describe, but since you have seen the thread, are you using the custom translator linked from that thread?
-
Not exactly a user-friendly solution, but you can find the PDF on your computer (right-click -> Show File) and add it to Zotero again. (Edit: just to be clear, adding the PDF (not linking to it) directly from Zotero storage folder is safe, becau…

I'm pretty sure you can just extract the setup file yourself using 7-zip and then run the setup.exe that's inside.
-
If you're importing from ProCite, I would highly recommend looking through this thread https://forums.zotero.org/discussion/22615/procite-to-zotero-conversion-translator-ris-and-testing/ It's long, but it can make import a lot smoother
-
Interestingly, when scanning with VirusTotal, the file linked above came up with a hit from Symantec (WS.Reputation.1), but when the scan was completed with all of the AV engines, the hit disappeared and Symantec started reporting that it's ok.

The problem is that Zotero does not currently support the 264 field in the MARC record. We certainly should. I'll let adamsmith handle this, since he's more familiar with MARC. http://www.loc.gov/marc/bibliographic/bd260.html http://www.loc.gov/mar…

Actually, nvm on the Debug log. It doesn't look like under normal circumstances there is anything being written to it anyway. @Dan, Simon, is there any way to get detectWeb debug code for Zotero for Firefox in connector mode (besides real-time debu…

What page are you testing on? (shouldn't matter, but just in case) If you open Standalone _first_ and _then_ Firefox and you click on "Zotero" icon in Firefox, does it focus Standalone like it's supposed to? See if you can submit an Error Report. …

Fixed the non-latin character issue. Unfortunately, the series title is not provided by WorldCat in their RIS/EndNote export (top-left Cite/Export link). You could email them about this and request that they add this data (possibly link to this thr…

I meant that when you're testing if something fixes the issue, you should be testing if that error goes away, not if the icon appears (since the icon issue may, in addition, be caused by a different problem). The additional info comes from you tryi…

@adamsmith, but perhaps this is the case, because I am running an old version of ZoneAlarm
-
Actually, one more thing that comes to mind, you wouldn't be starting Zotero or Firefox with the '-no-remote' flag, would you? You can check by right-clicking on the shortcut you're using to start each and checking the Properties. The flag would be …
-
At this point, the thing to test would be whether you get an error when trying to open Zotero in Firefox while Zotero Standalone is open. The normal behavior for that would be for Zotero Standalone window to come into focus. But I'll assume that "no…
-
This would just be for testing purposes. You can enable it again after checking if Zotero starts working or not.
-
Simon would be able to tell you more perhaps, but do you have any security software enabled that could be blocking communication between Zotero Standalone and the Firefox add-on? Try disabling it.
-
When standalone and Firefox are open, can you open Zotero inside Firefox? What happens if you first open up Firefox (verify that you get an icon and that you can open Zotero inside Firefox) and then open Standalone?
-
Hard to say without seeing the note that follows the page break (Dan would be able to tell), but if your note is pretty long and is essentially an ordered (ol) or unordered (ul) list, then the page-break-inside:avoid could cause it to be moved to th…
-
Also, are you quick-copying/dragging all references at the same time? You can also right-click the references and select create bibliography, though what you describe above should work the same.
-
Besides what Dan says about saving the report and emailing it, what version of Zotero are you using?
-
Compiled a mapping table for EndNote's export. https://github.com/aurimasv/translators/wiki/ENW-Refer-BibIX-EndNote-tag-map Idk when I'll have time/motivation to move this into a translator.
-
Thanks! Yup, EndNote uses %Q for Translated Title. I wonder though if it doesn't make more sense for us to conform to EndNote's mappings. How many systems still use Refer/BibIX other than EndNote? (I honestly have no idea) Every time I've encounter…
