This is most likely unrelated, since it's a different OS. Start a new thread. Can you paste into the search box? Have you tried pasting with Command + V?

I see. If all of the data has synced to zotero.org, then you should be ok. In MLZ, go to Preferences -> Advanced -> Files and Folders and click on Show Data Directory. Go up one directory. You should now see a "zotero" folder. Uninstall MLZ f…

Frank can probably give you better directions, but you should be able to sync your MLZ data to zotero.org and then sync it to your regular Zotero library. You can see how that works out by running Zotero Standalone and MLZ side-by-side (not for any …

FWIW, the stuck preference was only relevant to the input character encoding. All other preferences should be working fine. And yes, passwords are not stored in about:config or anywhere else in plain text. Zotero uses Firefox's built-in credential …

Note that once you change the data directory in Zotero for Firefox, any new items that you added to Zotero for Firefox after it stopped interacting with Standalone will no longer be available in Zotero. If you want to keep these items you can eithe…

I guess you ended up going to Advanced tab -> open about:config and changed the property value manually. What I meant is that you can open Zotero preferences, go to the Advanced tab, then go to Export tab (not sub-tab) and use the drop-down menu …

Yes, looks like this is currently bugged. In order to change the import character encoding (other preferences don't seem to be affected) you need to first open the Advanced tab, then go back to the Export tab and change the setting. The new value sh…

That being said, it would be great if Zotero could jump directly to the respective collection folder (in the sidebar navigation pane) when pressing the Alt key.https://github.com/zotero/zotero/issues/135 Show in collection. Clicking on this entry w…

I can use google scholar without any problem Are you using Firefox or Zotero Standalone? It looks a bit strange that you could browse to Google Scholar, but not use the metadata retrieval function.

After switching to Fields, press Alt+F9 (i.e. toggle field codes). The large chunks of { } enclosed text (i.e. field codes) should turn into proper citations

As Dan and adamsmith mentioned above, it appears that your syncing is not working. Make sure all of your sync information is entered correctly: http://www.zotero.org/support/preferences/sync (same username/password as you use to log in on zotero.or…

Wouldn't the downgrade be impossible without restoring the old database due to the db upgrade? (I've actually noticed that in some cases I was able to revert to 4.0.11 from 4.0.14, but in other cases I was not. Not actually sure why. Was the db upgr…

FWIW, I think if the community were to adopt a unified format, I would steer away from RIS and BibTeX, since these formats would have to be modified/extended anyway. IMO, an XML based format, like Bibliontology RDF, would make the most sense in term…

For the time being, please do not sync (sounds like you have automatic sync disabled) or restore from server. Dan will have to take a look at the debug IDs and get back to you.

I don't have an opinion on whether this should be possible or not (it's not right now), but you can see all items that do not have a PDF attachment using two advanced searches: 1) Has PDF: Attachment File Type -- is -- PDF; Show only top-level item…

Is it possible that some of those items had be moved between the two libraries before? That is, is it possible that the 51 items that are missing are already in your library but in a different location? It would be best if you could reduce the set …
-
Is the PDF already attached to a Zotero item? You would have to drag it away from the item (it's tricky, but try dragging it in-between items) to detach.

In the group library I can see there are 729 items As in, it says that you've selected 729 items when you select all? Does that include any notes or attachments? (if so, see Preferences -> General -> Groups) Edit: and by notes and attachments…

This depends a bit on how complicated the translator you are writing needs to be. A good place to start would be reading through http://www.zotero.org/support/dev/translators Then, I would start off by installing the Scaffold extension in Firefox:…

Nothing you put in Zotero fields should cause errors when generating citations. If that is the case there's more reason to look into this error. Do you by any chance still have the errant items in your Zotero Trash? Or perhaps you know what in those…

I can reproduce this in IE 10 if the privacy settings are turned up higher than Medium. The only apparent difference between Medium and Medium-High is a change from "Restricts first-party cookies that save information that can be used to contact you…

You should be able to use an endnote style in LibreOffice and change it to footnotes once in Word.

Essentially, data stored in groups would still have to be left unencrypted.I'm not sure that's true, but certainly it'd be a lot more complicated. The only way to share encrypted data with someone else is to also share the encryption key (I don't thi…

Another thing to take into account is that locally encrypted data introduces a big hurdle for group sharing. Essentially, data stored in groups would still have to be left unencrypted. @Dan, out of curiosity, does Zotero employ any sort of de-dupli…

Box.net also has this feature called file locking that I think prevents you from editing (shared?) files that are being edited by other users. It's only available with a paid account though, so if you are using the free service, I think it's safe to…

If you can't see them on zotero.org (you're looking at their group libraries, right?) then they have not synced the sources to zotero.org. Have them first double-check that syncing is configured correctly (http://www.zotero.org/support/preferences/s…

Can you see them on zotero.org? If so, then check to make sure that your Zotero client is syncing properly. There should not be an exclamation mark next to the circular green arrow at the top right of the Zotero window.

Dan, is your suggestion above going to make it into the release tomorrow? I.e. have you/are you going to patch this yourself? I can give it a shot as well.
