That's a Word bug so you should report that to Microsoft.
-
Sorry, it's a LibreOffice limitation.

Users have found ways to work around this https://forums.zotero.org/discussion/comment/377185/#Comment_377185

Zotero 6.0.18 is now out with a fix for this issue. Thanks again for helping to troubleshoot this!
-
Ok, thanks for helping us debug this. We've discovered a bug in the recent version of Zotero. Sorry we didn't catch it earlier, but I was quite confused with your description. The words "before" and "behind" have the same meaning in my head, I would…

Restart Zotero and try again. Make sure you look through all open Zotero windows after initiating a Word operation.
-
Please describe in full what you're doing, what you expect to happen and what happens instead. What version of OS and word processor?
-
Does this issue happen at all if you place the cursor not adjacent to existing citations? Do you see any issues if you place the cursor inside the citation? Generally it seems that Word for Mac may have recently changed the behavior for when it co…

Can you take a screen recording of this issue and send it to support@zotero.org with a link to this thread?
-
When you press the add/edit button with the cursor behind "]" and the citation dialog opens you should see an already existing cited item in the dialog. Do you see it? Do you add a new item along the existing one?
-
Go into Zotero Preferences -> Cite -> Word Processors and reinstall the Word plugin. The modern Word plugin does not/should not have a "Add Citation" button. You should see a "Add/Edit Citation" button and use that.
-
Can you reproduce this issue in a document with 3 or less citations? Can you be more specific where you put the cursor, and what your intention is? Are you trying to insert a new citation, or edit an existing citation by adding an additional item to…
-
Ok, I tried citing in this document and I couldn't see any obvious issues. Can you describe precisely where you put your cursor and cite, what you expect to happen and what happens instead? What is the full version number of Word that you are runnin…

It's hard to say what's causing it, but it could be some security software or a recent Word update. Usually when there's a generic bug in Word or Zotero we get many reports about it, and we've had some Chinese users have issues when using Word in Ch…

Sorry, but can you actually produce another Debug ID from Zotero, not from the Zotero Connector? Make sure it captures your attempt to cite (the previous Debug IDs that you posted didn't).
-
Could you be more specific where did she find the link and what page did she get linked to?
-
You are using a custom citation style in this document. Can you reproduce this issue with a standard Zotero citation style (like IEEE)?
-
Can you change Windows language to English and produce a Debug ID after opening a single new Word document and reproducing this error? Is this the latest version of Word that you can get?
-
The Debug ID shows you're using V2 for this request. Make sure you refresh the google document after unticking the checkbox in Zotero Connector preferences.
-
See reporting problems. Provide steps to reproduce and a Report ID.

What do you mean by "create a doc and a docx file"? Do you create two files? Which one are you editing? Does it work if you only create a docx file and try to insert a bibliography there? If you change your Windows language to English (and restart) …
-
Can you describe the full process to reproduce this issue in a new document with a minimal number of steps? What's the full version number of Word that you are running?
-
Did you recently install any security software or security extensions into chrome? Can you install any other extensions from the Chrome store? This isn't really a Zotero bug, but a Google Chrome one, so you might want to talk to their support too.
-
What OS is this? Start by restarting your computer.
-
You need to follow the instructions on the page linked above and if none of the steps help, provide the request at the bottom of the troubleshooting instructions. There is no phone support but we will help you if you provide the information that we …

@zoeblow As for citations getting unlinked see https://www.zotero.org/support/kb/google_docs_citations_unlinked

@trinity99 although you should definitely turn Google Docs V2 off. Currently there is an issue with Google Docs that prevents it from working in some documents using the V2 integration and you are getting that error. We have reported it to Google, b…

It is likely that you have authenticated Zotero with Google Docs with the wrong Google account (if you are signed in into multiple). The way to reset that is to restart Safari and when prompted to authenticate, make sure you select the Google accoun…

Right, I did not realize you are copying whole documents. Generally you can make copies of your documents with Zotero citations intact via the File -> Copy option in Google Docs. We don't really test the copy-pasting feature for whole documents, …
