@Jinao @marcodepp you should make sure you are running Windows Build 22621.2428 and see if you can still reproduce the issue.
-
@edmundrussell Can you reproduce this consistently? If so, could you do some testing for us? 1. With Zotero and Word running open Activity Monitor.app, switch to the CPU tab, right-click on the columns and add the App Nap column 2. Find Zotero in t…

Yes, this is a preview (beta) Windows build, although Microsoft seems to have released a new build yesterday, so you should try updating and see if it fixes itself.
-
Did you manually install a Windows Update Preview? What version an OS build of Windows are you on under Settings -> System -> About?
-
See Troubleshooting Errors in Word Processor Documents.
-
Please describe in detail what you're doing and what happens.

I'm was seeing some issues when trying to load the urls from which Zotero is trying to retrieve the item metadata, although it appeared to maybe be a Chrome, not a server issue. You should try disabling all other extensions, restarting Chrome and se…

Could you produce a Debug ID from the Zotero Connector for resetting translators? Open the Zotero Connector preferences, go to the Advanced tab, tick "Enable Logging", then click the "Reset Translators" button, wait 30 seconds, then untick the "Ena…

Does this Zotero.dotm work? We need to use both MacScript and AppleScriptTask because some people get run-time error 5 with one, and some, with other. We only added the use of AppleScriptTask a couple of years back and before that we used to get qu…

@jhimmelreich Could you try Zotero.dotm?
-
See https://www.zotero.org/support/dev/client_coding/http_integration_protocol Generally you should post development questions at zotero-dev
-
Do you mean the Zotero desktop application or your Word processor where you are citing? Can you submit a Report ID? Either way, upgrading the storage plan is not related and won't help.
-
Some other extension in your browser is most likely blocking the Zotero Connector. You should disable other extensions, restart Firefox and see if that helps.
-
What version of macOS and Word are you running (full version numbers)? Can you reproduce this in a new document?
-
Ah sorry, wrong links. Zotero.scpt Zotero.dotm

@zzotterro2 you should to restart Safari after disabling other extensions before testing the Zotero Connector.
-
Do you have any other extension enabled in Safari? Could you try temporarily disabling them and seeing if the button works? Have you tried restarting your Mac?
-
Can you reliably reproduce this broken button condition? If so, what are the steps to reproduce it?

Excellent debugging! Indeed the .26 version used AppleScriptTask as a fallback for people with Run-time 5 errors with MacScript, but I did not set up a similar fallback here for .27 with the changed method of communication. Can you place this Zoter…

See Troubleshooting Errors in Word Processor Documents, particularly the final step.

The .26 version of the plugin also uses MacScript, so what you're seeing here is truly bizzare. Does osascript command in the terminal to run AppleScript work for you?

Are you running any proprietary security software? You should update macOS to the latest version. EDIT: Also, have you by any chance configured the mac for multiple accounts and changed the connector port? Could you produce a startup Debug ID from …

If you disable all other extensions but Zotero Connector does it work correctly? Can you go into the Zotero Connector Preferences -> Advanced and click Reset Translators, wait a minute, then restart the browser and see if it still occurs?
-
This will be fixed in the next release of Zotero, but to fix it for now you should move Microsoft Word.app to its standard location at /Applications/Microsoft Word.app, then restart it. Sorry for the trouble.
-
It works in Google Docs just fine, only an issue in LO.
-
I am not sure what you're saying about restarting your citations. Copying citations in a document and between generally works. You should say what happened when following the process above and where things went wrong and we can continue to help you …

Do you mean the new macOS update or creating a new user account in macOS and trying there?
