This seems like some sort of Word configuration issue, where the Macros from templates in the Startup folder are not running correctly. You should pass this on to your IT people.

Now I see an empty space where Zotero used to be. Are you saying that instead of the tab name "Zotero" there is a tab with no name, which contains Zotero buttons? If so, does it help if you go into Word Preferences -> Security and check "Enable a…

What version of Safari and macOS are you using? Could you create a new macOS user account and check if the same behavior occurs there?

Restart Zotero. Does it work in Chrome or Firefox?

Are you using Safari? Does it work with Firefox or Chrome?

You'll should follow the Troubleshooting Errors in Word Processor Documents steps. If it does not help, note down what you did and what happened at each step
-
Does it work in a new document? What browser are you using? You should disable all other extensions besides Zotero Connector, restart your browser and try again. Submit a Report ID from the Zotero Connector if you have further problems.

You have to follow the Troubleshooting Errors in Word Processor Documents steps.

When citing in Google Docs, what website you saved the item from absolutely does not matter. 1. Can you reproduce the issue in a new document, when citing those items? 2. Does it happen in your existing document if you attempt to cite the same item…

In Zotero Settings -> Export select the style you want your citations to appear in under "Item Format". Do note that in both Word and Google Docs you should use the Zotero plugin instead of copying citations from Zotero.

We do not provide official support for the Arc Browser, so unless you can reproduce this problem on Safari, Firefox, Chrome or Edge, we cannot help you. If you can reproduce it, we would recommend starting troubleshooting by disabling other extensio…

Yes, the focus is switched to the Zotero citation dialog, and then it should switch to the browser, which based on what you are saying seems like it does. What would you want to happen differently? What OS and browser are you using?
-
Could you try a different browser (Firefox) and confirm you see the problem there too?
-
If you refresh the page that you are saving in your browser before the save, does the URL still come out wrong in Zotero?
-
Try disabling other extensions in Chrome, restart it and see if it works.

No, this is still a Debug ID from the Zotero Connector. See the Debug ID instructions for how to produce one from Zotero. Also, you should only enable debug logging for a short while, when you perform the requested procedure, and then submit immedia…

Could you produce a Debug ID for a save of this page from Zotero as well? Make sure you reload the EBSCOhost page before saving the page (pressing the Zotero Connector button in your browser).

Are you using the Zotero tab in Microsoft Word or have you mapped some buttons in the quick-access bar (at the very top of Word) for Zotero functions? Did you try following the Troubleshooting Errors in Word Processor Documents instructions? What ha…

Is Zotero open when this happens? Does Zotero respond when you get this issue? Are you saying that this happens while working with the document, adding and editing citations and the document, or does it occur after e.g. stepping away from your compu…

How long is your document? By "crashes" do you mean closes without an error prompt or something else? A document refresh can take quite a while depending on the size of your document and while Zotero is updating your document, it will not respond to…

You should restart Zotero and Safari and attempt to cite again. If the authorization page does not close automatically, close it manually. Then look through open Zotero windows. If you do not see a citation dialog, it's likely that citing with Safar…

I looked through your document. It is indeed using an in-text citation style but all citations are in footnotes. Generally you can force the conversion again, by switching to a footnote style (e.g. a Chicago footnote one), then back to an in-text st…

How are you adding the citation styles? Do they appear in Zotero Preferences -> Cite?

This isn't something we have ever seen and changes in the Zotero beta are highly unlikely to cause something like this. Restart your computer and try opening Word again. If it still happens, remove Zotero.dotm from your Word startup folder https://w…

Most likely there is a citation in your document that accidentally got replaced by a single symbol, which is what is causing this. Switching the citation style to a different one and back is likely to help. Otherwise see Troubleshooting Errors in Wo…

Restart Zotero and your browser and try again. Note down exactly what happens, make sure you look through open Zotero windows after attempting to add a citation in your browser, and post it here. What browser are you using?

Zotero does NOT change the paragraph style in Word or Writer when the bibliography is first inserted. This is correct. Zotero sets the Bibliography style when you choose the citation style for the document, which is the first thing you do in a docum…
