Do you have Zotero 5.0 (or Zotero 4.0 Standalone) installed and running? You should, but it should work even without them. Could you post some URLs where you expect Zotero to work, but it does not?
-
If you long-click on the Zotero icons and select Zotero Preferences, is Zotero listed as Available? Could you submit a Report ID
-
Does saving with that feature disabled work too?
-
But it doesn't if Zotero Connector is disabled? In that case this is to do with settings (privacy/proxy) in your Firefox profile, but we won't be able to point to anything specific. Do post if you figure out what it is.

Does it work if Zotero Connector is disabled? Does it work in a new Firefox profile?
-
Could you disable proxying, restart Zotero and then try again?
-
Seems that the connector is failing to load the RIS record and instead serves a login page. If you go to http://www.sciencedirect.com.[your.proxy]/sdfe/arp/cite?pii=S0960982206023670&format=application/x-research-info-systems&withabstract=tr…

Make sure that running a refresh, or changing a citation style in c.2 works. Just attempting those might produce an error message that will hint at the broken citation. Otherwise see debugging broken documents instructions. If you isolate a single o…

Try disabling other extensions (especially security and adblock related ones) and see if that fixes the problem.
-
The fact that you only get a webpage icon for Google Scholar and others indicates that the Zotero Connector is either missing translators or is failing to use them. Failure to use them could be causedby the proxy if it changes URLs, but otherwise sh…

Seems that you are on Windows XP. That's no longer officially supported by Microsoft or Zotero. I'm afraid the first thing to do is to upgrade up to at least Windows 7.
-
Try updating translators in Zotero 5.0 Preferences -> General and then in Zotero Connector Preferences -> Advanced. That should fix the saving problem.
-
Could you describe step-by-step what you are doing and where things go bad? You can take screenshots and upload them somewhere online and link here, if that makes it easier to describe.
-
@Rintze On one hand we should do this ourselves, on the other hand there's a non-trivial amount of code in the integration codebase that is intended to support and convert previous formats (and an old format causing a problem was the culprit here to…

Have you tried disabling other extensions and checking your security/proxy settings as described on the troubleshooting page?
-
@OlgaN the Debug ID is from Zotero client. Could you instead produce one from Zotero extension in the browser (described how on that same page)?
-
The debug log doesn't show delays of 5-10s and I can't reproduce any significant slowdown with a fresh Firefox 55 profile on Win 10 with Zotero Connector as the only addon. Is Zotero Connector slow even with a fresh Firefox profile?

[JavaScript Error: "No items returned from any translator"] [JavaScript Error: "DOI Translator: could not find DOI"] With the proxy I have this works as expected. Try updating translators from Zotero 5 Preferences -> General and then Zotero Conn…

Looks like a corrupt embedded citation field issue. Embedded citations are those, that lost a link to your Zotero database, usually due to the original item being removed from your library. Could you follow the debugging broken docs instructions, s…

No solution at the moment, aside from opening the frame manually, because running detection in frames within new extension framework is very costly in terms of performance and there's little we can do to reduce the impact. When the solution comes, i…

The Zotero URIs are dependent on item key. New item keys are generated for items when they are imported into Zotero, which is why the link isn't restored (and it couldn't be any other way, because if you tried to import 2 items with the same key and…

We've spent some time speeding up the update process in Zotero, which will probably help quite a bit. Otherwise there might be some reasons due to how the integration plugins are coded and the underlying programming language used by Zotero and Mende…
-
Zotero and Mendeley citations should be compatible, however, note that the technical link between these citations in Zotero and the doc is actually lost. The citation metadata is stored within the document, so if you amend metadata (i.e. authors, da…

Some improvements are indeed in the pipeline. Not sure if we'll go up to the speed of Mendeley for full-doc updates, but we have a nice upcoming feature of delaying full-updates, which will make every citation insert and edit take a couple of second…

Please describe the problem in detail https://www.zotero.org/support/reporting_problems

Does updating translators not help? Could you submit a Report ID?

Right. You should uninstall Zotero and the LibreOffice extension from Firefox and download the Zotero Connector which is intended to be used with Zotero 5.0 instead. Otherwise, you might want to run through the document troubleshooting instructions…

Files under ~/.zotero should stay there, that's where Zotero stores profile information. Zotero data is, however, stored at ~/Zotero by default. Under ~/.zotero you should have a dir named something like [randomstring].default and under ~/Zotero you…

You need to move the actual application files to /opt/zotero, not just the desktop file. Perhaps the easiest thing to do now is to backup the current ~/Zotero directory (by renaming to say ~/Zotero_bak, create a new ~/Zotero directory and place only…

Sounds like you have another instance of Zotero running. And Libreoffice is talking to it. If it is an on-campus computer, it is likely that a Zotero session from a different logged in user is interfering. A restart should help. If it is your perso…
