Is this the first time you are working with a document of this size? If you have before, have you also used a footnote citation style? Given that you have 440 citations in the document, it appears that it is actually performing admirably well on you…
-
Yes, the speed issue is separate and seems to have begun when we started signing our plugin macros. The crashing has started occuring earlier. Some of the users seem to be experiencing both issues, some only one, but not the other. Simon's build doe…

@Malachit start a new thread, and produce a Debug ID from Zotero for a citation insert.
-
Can you describe what you mean by "flashing" and whether you can reproduce this error consistently, and if so, what are the steps to reproduce it?
-
A new version of the connector has been released with the fix for both Chrome and Firefox. You can switch away from the Beta track now.
-
New beta version is out, this should be fixed. Do post if you find other issues
-
New beta out, should address the slow citation dialog. Thanks for reporting!

Start here https://www.zotero.org/support/troubleshooting_translator_issues
-
I have just updated to 10.13.3 and can confirm that it works well.
-
I've created a ticket to track this issue, but not clear when we will have a fix for it.
-
The translators not loaded error is likely unrelated and you can ignore it. You might need to manually locate JRE for LibreOffice, which once done, should make the plugin work.
-
@danserval what do you mean by flashing? Zotero and Word switching focus rapidly? That should be fixed with 5.0.34.4 and update speed should be not be much slower than before. Could you reinstall Zotero completely and try again?
-
Ugh, excuse the above. Jave SE JRE is what you want, but you will either need to install version 8 or upgrade LibreOffice to the fresh version of 5.4.4, where it seems they have added support for Java JRE version 9.
-
That's Java SE. You need the JRE
-
You need to either insert the citation into the document directly, by using the Add/Edit Citation button in Zotero tab, or insert a footnote from References tab, paste the citation text from the Harvard style document into the new footnote and hit R…
-
Can you describe how you are trying to change the citation from an in-text one to a footnote step by step?
-
Deleting your current Normal.dotm file (as described above) and then reinstalling Word Plugin from Zotero -> Preferences -> Cite -> Word Plugins should be a good start. Otherwise try following https://www.zotero.org/support/word_processor_p…
-
How many citations in the text? Does every one fail to convert or only some? Does it happen in a new document?
-
Make sure a JRE is selected in LibreOffice. You can follow these instructions https://www.zotero.org/support/word_processor_plugin_troubleshooting#installation_error
-
@mrakins Try the debugging broken documents instructions and if you continue to have issues create a new thread.
-
When you click Add/Edit citation do you get any response from Zotero? Do you see the citation dialog?
-
Sorry it took a while. Your institution uses a port-based proxy and Zotero currently does not support saving attachments from such proxies. Port-based proxies are fairly uncommon these days. You might want to talk to IT and see if they could switch …
-
We'll have a fix for the flashing soon
-
@peterhellstrom @TJtom Are you saying that citation editing has slowed down considerably in addition to the flashing, or was it always taking a while, but now you get the flashing?
-
@bookster808 it would still be best if you created a separate thread and describe your situation in full: the size of document, number of citation, the style you are using, when you started seeing slowness and whether it is consistent. Your version …
-
You are likely running Word version 16.9, which we've just added support to, but foot/endnote support is still buggy. If this is urgent, your best bet is to downgrade to 15.41 and disable Word updates. Otherwise you can wait for the next update wit…
-
Could you produce a Debug ID from Zotero? Otherwise, it is recommended to switch back to the stable build of Zotero. Word for Mac 16.9 support is not guaranteed to be bug-free on our side and the current beta has big changes to the underlying word …
-
@bookster808 You are on the monthly track of Word, but if you are not experiencing crashing or corruption, then you should be fine with your current version. If you're experiencing problems with using the plugin please start a separate thread. (@ad…
-
@laurence.diver What version of Word are you on?
-
The code that does all the heavy lifting is not written in Visual Basic inside the templates. No timeline, but I have created a ticket a while ago, so expect the change to come eventually.
