1. Whenever Zotero is taking a long time, it seems to be going through a certain set of citations (seemingly always the same citations), where it keeps changing whether to incorporate two papers by the same authors from different dates into one (aut…

Perhaps the address of your university proxy has changed? That would require a scheme update. Can you access the address in this comment from chrome? If not, what does that same tandfonline page URL behind the proxy looks like in Chrome?

If you really must run the old version of LibreOffice, you may download the latest version shipped with Zotero 4.0, but I don't know if it will work. You may also try to manually install the latest version shipped with Zotero 5.0. Other than that,…

Ok, @Benj1 , could you do the same for this script? You only need to run this and describe what is on the page and where the cursor is after the operation.
-
Sorry for the trouble, we're looking for a fix. For the time being you can work around this by inserting footnotes manually with Word and then inserting zotero citations in the footnotes.

1. What is the version of Word (or LibreOffice) that you are using? 2. What is the original style of the document? 3. How many citations do you have in this document? 4. What is the original problem in this document? 5. Can you describe the current …

Do you have any Word processor open, while doing this? If you find a way to reproduce it, or if it happens regularly enough, you could submit a Debug ID from Zotero. You will need to enable logging and wait for the citation dialog to appear, dismis…

First, please go into Preferences -> Cite -> Word Processors and reinstall the LibreOffice plugin. Then, can you confirm what is wrong when inserting a new citation? It is best if you try this in a new document, to ensure default document sett…

Thanks for the report. We'll have a fixed version out shortly.

The extension installation uses LibreOffice's own code, not Zotero's, so this is the wrong place to ask. Even more so, LibreOffice doesn't come with its own Java implementation and you usually need to install that separately. All java-based features…

The current LibreOffice version packaged with openSUSE is broken. You will need to install LO from their webpage or wait for the package to be fixed.

@thanatophobic please start a new thread and describe your problem in full. See https://www.zotero.org/support/reporting_problems

You shouldn't be accessing google scholar via your proxy in the first place. You should navigate to https://scholar.google.com and once you get the notice at the top about redirection, click "Don't proxy this host", which will redirect you back to u…

That should really have no effect on whether it works. The Zotero.dotm file is very bare-bones and Simon's build is meant to address crashing during operation, not on startup. Have you tried removing Normal.dotm and then adding back Zotero.dotm into…

How are you removing the Zotero add-in?

I've just tested this and it seems that we never did anything special for Windows (unlike other platforms) to focus the citation dialog. It works without issues for Word. I've tried some quick fixes available to us, but nothing seems to have any d…

@Benj1 would you test something? 1. Open Script Editor (either under /Applications/Utilities/Script Editor.app or via spotlight), press "New Document" and paste this script into the window? 2. Open Word with an empty document 3. In Script Editor cl…

You can work around this by inserting footnotes manually and then inserting zotero citations there. Is your version of Word localized (e.g. in German)? We have a few users reporting the same problem, but nobody is sure what causes it to start.
-
I do use track changes (a requirement by the journal during the review process). You should deal with tracked changes before using Zotero if you can. Tracked changes are very likely to negatively interfere with the citing functionality. I also noti…

There are a few reports of this issue, but we are unable to reproduce it ourselves and nobody has provided steps to reproduce it, so it is impossible to debug. We have had reports from previous users that changing to a different user account on the …

How reliable is this observation about multiple windows? Do you ever get crashing with only one Word window open?
-
Well, it seems that some sort of privacy system (Shibboleth ?) in your institution is intercepting Zotero's attempt to download the PDF. We're doing our best to show to such proxies that Zotero's request is genuine, and it usually works. You should …

We are not entirely sure what causes the missing icon issue, but reinstalling (alone) does not usually help. You have to remove the user profile directory, because of corruption there and allow LibreOffice to recreate it. If pressing the buttons do…

Sorry for taking so long to respond. Do you use track changes? Have you been able to at least reproduce this twice? How often do you see this occur (e.g. every 10th insertion)?
-
Did it used to work fine before with this proxy?
-
When using your university proxy, do you often (sometimes?) see a page with text "If your browser does not continue automatically, click here", before being taken to a proxied page? Perhaps only once after login?
-
The icons not showing issue can affect all versions of LibreOffice and is usually resolved by removing user profile directory, which is a platform specific operation. Sometimes multiple removals are required. You would have to state in greater deta…

Zotero with LibreOffice 6 certainly works. What is the problem that you get with LibreOffice 6?
-
@Saffron%20Woodcraft you should go into Zotero -> Tools -> Add-ons and make sure Zotero Word Integration plugin is enabled, which might fix it. @Orphée and @Saffron%20Woodcraft you will need to create new threads for your issues as they are d…
