Since you are seeing corrupted Word documents, I was referring specifically to their storage (although storing the Zotero database in a synced directory is highly discouraged and could lead to its corruption too, but this is not the problem you are …
-
That is a very old version of MacOS, no longer supported by Apple or Zotero. That said, you still shouldn't get document corruptions. Storing them in a synced directory (like Dropbox) or closing the documents improperly could cause it.

So just to confirm before I move on to following your advice - there is no other way other then re-insterting all references? I am just asking as I have close to 400 references on about 80 pages. You should begin by fixing the text of the broken/wei…
-
Could some of these references have been inserted with Mendeley before switching to Zotero? In the document you have sent there is no obvious corruption. Whatever caused the issue is now gone (or is in some other part of the document). You should …
-
Note that the latest version of Word 2010 is 14.0.7197.5000. You are missing 2 service packs. You should start by ensuring that you are running the latest version of Word.
-
What version of Word? Is it updated with the latest updates from Microsoft? Could you describe in detail what steps trigger this crashing and whether it is consistently reproducible?
-
I have not seen this bug before, but the document you sent indeed is corrupt. I'd advise updating LibreOffice as a first step and seeing whether that has any effect.
-
@bilebitola the sample you sent does not contain any Zotero fields. To isolate a problematic snippet, create a duplicate document and remove content until only the offending part is remaining.
-
You would need to restart Word after enabling all macros to see the effect. After restarting Word and trying to use Zotero, what is the exact error that you get?
-
If you are on macOS and Word 2016, make sure you are on the latest version of Zotero, then go into Zotero Preferences -> Cite -> Word Processors and reinstall the Word plugin. You will need to reinsert the offending citations as they have brok…
-
Could you email this broken document to support@zotero.org with a link to this thread? We haven't had any other reports about something like this. I note that even though auto-update is on in the prefs, with bookmarks it doesn't automatically refres…

(2) I am not seeing the UnoMarks replicating infinitely, but they do indeed not get cleaned up properly, if you remove the Zotero-citation related bookmarks. Either way, this is a LibreOffice bug, so that's still who you have to talk about this. Alt…

But sometimes, I get this: Some text(Author, 2011) . The text continues Are there steps to reproduce this consistently? Perhaps citing a particular item does? 2. The bookmarks (when I view them in libreoffice menu > insert > bookmarks...) star…
-
Could you be more descriptive? Do you still get the error after a restart or not? Are there any specific steps to take to receive the error? Does it occur in a new document?
-
Does it work well if you restart Zotero?
-
Hey wait -- I assume the beta connector speaks HTTP to Zotero? That means I could retire my Application/Document/Field implementation in CAYW and just use the HTTP endpoint to pop up the picker. @emilianoeheyns You could, but there's no real reason …
-
@emilianoheyns Was this a one off or reproducible? Were you editing the document while Zotero was trying to insert the citation?
-
@fbennett I assumed that the plugin had a citation style that converted citations to markers, but it seems that I may have been wrong. Either way, we're working on a solution for document transfers between Google Docs and Word/LO, since being able t…
-
@zuphilip That should generally work, although switching between inline and footnote styles is using some really brittle code that requires the user to keep the cursor focused in the document and not interacting while it is happening. Switching to a…
-
Actually, do not worry about it. I found a simple fix on our side. If CAYW is not affected, you can just ignore the changes on our side.

Google Docs plugin (announced here) throws errors when inserting citations with BBT enabled. You would have to test the plugin to see the error.
-
At least a couple of weeks. I had written this in an attempt to not interfere with BBT and either us or you may be able to apply a simple fix such that a single codebase can work with both versions. See my message on zotero-dev
-
@adamsmith could you submit a report ID from Zotero and test in a new profile?
-
Is there any way to add support for opening a Zotero Word/LibreOffice document in Google Docs and have citations converted. Very unlikely to ever support something better than the ODF-Scan-like workflow. This is because Google Docs does not feature …

Sorry, this is an issue, but fell out of scope. I have created a ticket to track this, but last time I tried to fix it, nothing obvious worked. LibreOffice on Windows has a fairly small audience, so this is obviously not very high priority, especial…
-
@Digambar_dahal Please create new threads for unrelated issues and avoid double posting in the future. @teresafr this may be an issue of you having an old version of Zotero or the Word plugin having not updated automatically with a Zotero update. …
-
I am sorry, but I am afraid there is nothing automated that will work for you. Zotero citation formatting is produced by inserting RTF text into the document, which has hard-coded formatting for sections of citations and bibliography as defined by t…

Could you submit a Report ID? What version of Word is it (like 16.11)?
