Either way, this is not a Zotero but a LibreOffice and Java compatibility issue and you should report it to LibreOffice developers.
-
Do you have the plugin running in LibreOffice? Do Zotero operations work at all? What do you do to receive the error message above? Does LibreOffice quit after that? What version of JRE is selected in LibreOffice (check under Options -> Advanced)?
-
Do you use any security software on your Mac? Does it crash even when you try on a completely empty document? Does it crash after you press Enter to close the citation dialog or before that?
-
What is the version of LibreOffice that you are running? Could you submit a Report ID from Zotero?
-
@shahira0106 Did you follow the full troubleshooting steps? https://www.zotero.org/support/word_processor_plugin_troubleshooting#zotero_tab_does_not_appear_in_the_word_ribbon Does Zotero.dotm not appear in the Developer tab Word Add-Ins section?
-
Did Word actually crash while performing this operation? What do you mean by iOS Catalina? What machine are you using?
-
A Debug ID for a freezing operation is not necessary, but follow the link above for instructions on how to submit a startup Debug ID. It might help to go into your Zotero profile folder and move extensions.json to Desktop, then restart Zotero.
-
Restart your computer. Make sure you start Zotero before you try to cite with Word. If it still freezes submit a Report ID.
-
Note that you will run into issues when trying to update the whole document later, when ibid status of these references changes, etc. If you do, you will have to copy them out of the table before proceeding with updates.

Word handles how words are wrapped, but you could probably modify the style to use a non-wrapping space in between the number and the URL. Someone else experienced in style editing might be able to offer more concrete advice on how to do that.

We'll look into it, but cannot guarantee a quick fix since citations in tables are quite difficult to work with on all word processors unfortunately. For now you can work around this by inserting citations somewhere in the main text of the document …
-
The latest version of Zotero is 5.0.90. You should begin by updating.
-
I'm not sure what happened. Did you unlink the citations in your document prior to downloading as PDF? If you did, you can use the Google Docs Version History to go back to the time before unlinking them. If the items you have cited in this documen…

Filenames with spaces (or perhaps folder names with spaces) are the culprit when saving to OneDrive. However we had reports of people being able to trigger the problem with spaces sometimes, but not others. We ourselves have no problem in saving fil…

It's fine to keep a bibliography for each chapter, but you should remove those before recombining the document. You can either keep the bibliography of the last chapter or simply reinsert it. The end result will be identical.
-
You don't have to reactive the automatic updates at any point, but if you choose to do that the operation will be slow. You only need to use the Refresh command in the Zotero plugin to update the document after having the automatic updates disabled.…
-
Make sure you are saving the document as .docx. Citations will become unlinked if saving as a different file format.
-
You can delete the previous extensions.json file. That was just a backup in case this didn't fix it.
-
Go into your profile directory and move the extensions.json file away from it (like your Desktop), then restart Zotero. Does the LibreOffice plugin section appear in the Preferences?
-
Could you submit a Report ID from Zotero?
-
The document you sent us imported fine with LibreOffice 6.4.0.3
-
Oh, I was under the impression this document was quite a bit larger than what you seem to have had. Either way, good to hear this worked for you. Best of luck with your writing!
-
Ok, so after testing the document, this is my conclusion: You have reached a size for this document so large that the operations Zotero needs to perform to update this document take too long on Google's servers and timeout, which has lead to the do…

I don't think we're able to do something like this due to technical reasons. What's the reason you're saving pages as PDF? We'll soon have an update to the Zotero snapshot saving feature which will make the saved snapshots much more reliably appear …

Have you tried restarting Zotero and Word? If after a restart the citation dialog still does not appear, make sure you look through all open Zotero windows after pressing Add/Edit Citation, sometimes the citation dialog fails to pop up on top of Wor…
-
Would you share a cut-down copy of your current version of the document with support@zotero.org? Leave a couple of pages of content with some citations in there.
-
Please try the instructions above for the current version of the document. They are likely to fix your document completely. If you still get the error about document corruption on the current version of the document then you won't be able to change …

Can you suggest how I might do this, and if Word 2010 is a good program to use from here on in? Word 2010 should work fine. I finally got it to work with the file from the end of February 2020. I guess i will need to manually recreate all the docum…

Citations in tables in LibreOffice are in general quite finicky and hard to support for Zotero. We try our best, but they can cause issues especially in situations like this. If you're only doing this to switch to Apple Word, you may be able to use …

Most likely this is an old bug in LibreOffice: https://github.com/zotero/zotero-libreoffice-integration/issues/50 You can work around it it by not using the Next Style property for your customized footnote/body styles. You may want to comment on t…
