That's down to sciencedirect. Since rss feed fields do not directly map to fields like abstract, we use approximate fields. In this case it is using the description field from the RSS feed where ScienceDirect provides the info you're seeing. If you …

This is a debug from Zotero instead of the Connector (the browser extensions). The instructions are in the link above. Could you a Debug ID for refreshing the Google Docs page and clicking the menu?
-
Zotero uses your system preferences to open files. You need to change the preference in Windows, e.g. by right-clicking a HTML file and changing the default program.
-
If you want to remove a citation and it's the only cited item in that citation, you should remove the text of the citation from the document instead and click Refresh in the Zotero plugin. If you cited an item multiple times you will need to remove …

Could you explain in full what the problem is? Does it occur in a new document? Can you reproduce it consistently?
-
@xtenezakis In fact, you should try downgrading to LibreOffice 6.4.6 and try again. There are some known issues with LibreOffice 7 and Java compatibility, particularly on macOS that should be addressed to some extent with LibreOffice 7.1

Did this produce a LibreOffice crash?
-
Could you try to see if it works correctly for you with the Beta Connector in Firefox?
-
Can you reproduce this problem in a new document? If so, we would like to fix it for all users so it works correctly with word fields. What's the version number of Word (listed under File -> Account)?
-
Can you reproduce this in a new document? Which citation style are you using? What version of Word?
-
Could you submit a Report ID from the Zotero Connector?
-
Are you using Safari? Did you try citing with Firefox or Google Chrome? Is it better there?
-
@dwang1 Are you saying this doesn't happen if you insert citations in sequential order? Which style are you using? Please provide a Debug ID from Zotero for the 2 insertion operations.
-
Does it work if you run both Word and Zotero as administrator? This is just a troubleshooting step, not a fix.

1) Does the extension make it possible to run Javascript through CSS? I'm not sure what you're asking here. There exist no conventional ways to run JavaScript from/through/in CSS. CSS stands for Cascading Style Sheets -- a format to describe styling…

An update to those could have introduced an issue. Have you tried disabling it? Restarting the computer?

Seems to be related to this https://support.microsoft.com/en-ie/help/224338/error-message-in-word-800a175d-could-not-open-macro-storage If this is a personal computer there has been some change in your user account configuration. You can create a n…

Did you recently start using some security software? Have you tried disabling it? Have you tried restarting your computer?

Zotero is 64-bit (if it were 32-bit it wouldn't work on Catalina since it no longer supports 32-bit software). There are reports of this that go a number of macOS versions back. Note that this is an extremely rare issue and most likely a result of …

Could you produce a Debug ID from Zotero for the operation that causes the LibreOffice crash? 1. In the Zotero Help menu, go to Debug Output Logging and select Enable. 2. Perform the operation that causes LibreOffice to crash. 3. Before doing anyth…

Could you produce a Debug ID from Zotero? 1. In the Zotero Help menu, go to Debug Output Logging and select Enable. 2. In Word press the Add/Edit Citation button in the Zotero tab. 3. Before doing anything else, return to Zotero Help → Debug Output…

Are you storing your document in OneDrive? Does Zotero work if you change the document name to not include any space " " characters? Does Zotero work if you store the document on the local disk?
-
@cecilelimousin If you cannot send the full copy, please follow the debugging broken documents step 10 and try to cut down the document to some smaller piece that still produces the problem and send that instead.

Currently there is no ordinary way to make Zotero work in combination with LO on Mac. You claim that there is no way to make Zotero work in combination with LO on macOS. That is simply incorrect, and that is what I said. It is not unfathomable, that…

That is simply incorrect. JDK 12 should work with LibreOffice as long as you have it selected in LibreOffice Preferences -> Advanced. You can also downgrade to LibreOffice 6.4.6 where JDK 14 works or wait for 7.1.0 where the JDK 14 issue will be …

@zhorkan Go into your Zotero profile directory and move extensions.json to desktop, then restart Zotero. https://www.zotero.org/support/kb/profile_directory
-
Yeah, maybe we could pull this off, but the amount of work required to do this would be substantial and that effort is better put elsewhere.
-
We get a report for this once a year or so but have not found a way to fix it. Your best bet is to try to create a new user account on your Mac and see whether citing works there.
-
Once again, this is not a Zotero bug. It is a bug with LibreOffice failing to instantiate a Java Virtual Machine with JDK 14 installed. This is what people in your bug report to LibreOffice tell you. Zotero uses the LibreOffice Java plugin architect…

Ok, so this is almost certainly an issue with LibreOffice, JRE or their compatibility. You should try downgrading to the stable release of LibreOffice 6.4.6. You should also download the Java 8 JRE and select it in the LibreOffice Options -> Adva…
