Here, I got a debug ID where the computer is idle and he seems to detect that, but says there is nothing to index (well I still have over 2000 unindexed items): D866971299 And these are some of the items, which still have 'unknown' indexing status:…
-
Could it be that the idle criteria are too strict, e.g. that any possible other background process keeps it from running?
-
Well, the weird thing is. Once I start the output logging, he does index! Here are 2 debug IDs where he proceeded in indexing: D1106067759 D108860634 But between them, I left the computer idle for the whole night and nothing happened. And here are…
-
After waiting a few days, I realized that the indexing stalls after a while. On my laptop, I have about half of my library indexed with the process not proceeding any more. New additions are indexed, but he is not indexing the remainder of the exist…
-
I would suggest two separate items in the statistics: 'In queue': 'Unindexed': (only for the ones like non-OCR PDFs that cannot be indexed)
-
Well, I guess it all started because we migrated from Mendeley with several large group databases. So that put several thousand items in the queue. Then a colleague came to me and was very unhappy that the full text search was not functioning as des…

I reindexed the library, because it was far from completely indexed (less than 10%) and then full-text search does not make much sense. Then, I went to the other computer and also rebuild the index (for not indexed items) to have a complete search i…

It does not happen any more since I gave up building the search index both on my office and home PCs. Now I have it only in the office and it is stable. Could it be that building the search index on a second PC changes the properties of the PDF in …

I now had the same behaviour for a non-APS journal, Nanotechnology from IOP. Again the arXiv preprint was downloaded via `add item` and once I remove the PDF and to `find available PDF` I get the right one.
-
Well, concerning the issue what is the right journal name, there are databases to check, I would say. So it should be clear what is an abbreviation and what a full journal name. Your right that Zotero should probably not be overloaded with function…
-
@emilianoeheyns Thanks for the code, I got it sorted now. Also thanks for letting me know about the coming import feature, I have several colleagues who will probably be migrating their JabRef databases to Zotero in the near future, so such a feat…

I finally managed to catch part of a sync where the index is shrinking, it is the debug ID: D1498775293 And another more extensive one, which also catches the end of that sync: D1317263503 No idea, what triggered this extensive full-text sync, as o…
-
Well, if I had known about this, I would have unabbreviated the journal names using JabRef before import - but now I have a mixed library with >1000 items of which at least half have abbreviated journal names. I guess, instead of changing the ex…
-
Well, I will try to catch a similar situation and produce a Debug ID. I switched to another computer, just because I went home. Then checked the search index and it looked good. Anyway, I chose to rebuild the index with the option to index only uni…
-
Well, after I tried to index a small remainder on my home computer he actually started syncing a lot and the index is depopulating - so it looks like #1, but why is he suddenly rebuilding the database? ZotFile can be ruled out as it also happened t…

In Mendeley, keywords seem to be the ones imported from metadata (i.e. when a journal sets keywords). It is just a metadata field. While tags can be set by the user very similar to the use case in Zotero.
-
I just realized that I can delete the unwanted field in JabRef prior to the zotero import. That is a doable workaround. I thought BBT might have a similar ignore option for the import as for the export. If you want, I can still open a github-issue…
-
Sorry, here is another reproduction of that import: D955453422
-
Sorry for being unclear, I indeed meant "fall back to". I just reproduced an import through 'Add item(s) by identifier" where this happened (even though I was on a VPN that should give me access to the article): D1774428347 Deleting the attachmen…

The issue with the upload is true. I was indeed thinking more of an option concerning the download - exactly as sketched in your addendum. Apart from full-text search, for topics that we work on directly, my colleague and I like to have all the PD…
-
Great thanks - I searched all through the preferences and forgot to look in the menu ;-)
-
Thanks for the quick answer, indeed it makes more sense to have that as a setting in the core program than in BBT.
-
Any news on this? I can second that it would be great to have a simple switch in the preferences to choose between recursive and non-recursive display of folder contents. @emilianoeheyns, I have not found the checkbox you mention in the BBT prefere…

A colleague has just added, that he would also love to see the feature to have a per group-library choice on selecting "Sync attachment files in group libraries using Zotero storage". We have just migrated a number of large Mendeley groups from our …
-
Yes, but many projects have a separate bug tracking or feature request list - apart from the forum ;-)
-
Is there already a feature request on that? Or where would I place that?
-
I have some groups that I want to have only on one of my clients. I can of course remove them under 'Choose Libraries', but the local copy remains - unless I was fast enough in unselecting the library after the group was created/I joined it. There d…

If you need some "dirty" BibTeX files for testing, let me know ;-) The hidden options work for me in the meantime. It's really incredible what Mendeley does both intentionally and through sheer ignorance to make interoperability with other program…
