I'll be sending an email to registration@zotero.org.

My goal is to retire my hotmail.com email address that I originally used, back in January 2008, to set-up my Zotero account. Zotero is the only account left that needs fixed before I can completely stop using hotmail. I want to use my gmail.com ema…

Thanks for the tip Aurimas. I neglected to mention in my initial post that I had tried to delete the current primary email, but got a notice at the top of the page, "Cannot delete primary email".

For a few days last week it seemed to work better after updating Windows 7 with the new service pack. However, this morning it's acting up again. I'll try to make some time this week to try it on an XP computer.

Disabling the anti-virus didn't work. Opened Zotero, created a new collection, moved the "land record" item in the new collection, selected the new collection and the land record item was there along with an incorrect "1815 marriage" item. Sel…

I wished the other users who contributed to this thread would say something. Are they still having symptoms? Step 1: copied an item, 1850 census, from the Library and added it to the "To Do" collection. Step 2: examined the 1850 census on Anc…

Dan, Step 1: disabled the auto sync and restarted Firefox. Step 2: added a new item. Copied it from "To Do" to "Research Log" and "Docs 024–027" and went back to "To Do" and now there's two items displayed for that new item. Step 3: Minim…

Report ID 226403319 Created a new Firefox profile. Didn't help. Step 1: I had just moved an item from Alva Hendee's "To Do" collection to it's permanent "Docs 014–018" and "Research Log" collections. I went back to the "To Do" collection …

I'm currently experiencing these problems using only the "pane" mode. I have no idea what a "hidden recursiveCollections" is. But, I minimize the Zotero "pane" until I need it, then when it's opened it only takes about the lower 30% of the scr…

Report ID 296549424 I had closed Firefox and reopened it. The first thing I did was log on to Zotero and catch up on this thread. Before I did anything else I activated the Zotero database and the following occurred: Since you have my emai…

I first started reporting this in March 2011. http://forums.zotero.org/discussion/17058/toggle-tab/#Item_2 http://forums.zotero.org/discussion/17095/report-id-1006589114-more-toggle-tab-mode-problems/#Item_1 http://forums.zotero.org/…

Dan, That worked! As you predicted, Firefox hung (for about 5 minutes). Then, another five minutes of the green arrow turning before it synced. Nice to know the last few days of work is now safely stored on the Zotero server. Thanks s…

Dan: I tried the "2.1 Branch dev XPI" and for the short time I spent moving items in and out of sub-collections it seemed to work like it did before 2.1.1. I reverted back to 2.1.1 and am looking forward the new release. Thanks, Ste…

Report ID: 1181723999 I created a new Firefox profile, installed Zotero, and pointed it to my old Zotero data directory. Sorry, but it didn't help. Here's the link: http://sites.google.com/site/zoteroscreenshots/2011-03-28-report-id …

Dan Stillman: Okay, I used the DB repair tool and that didn't stop the problem. I'm using Zotero this morning and still having the same symptoms. But, it's random. After Firefox and Zotero are restarted the sub-collections contain what they sho…

adamsmith: Elizabeth Shown Mills explained this after briefly describing various citation styles: Among these options, The Chicago Manual’s Humanities Style has been the most effective for history researchers. Evidence Explained is roo…

ajlyon, Follow this link to see a few examples of US Census citation style guides taken from Evidence .... http://sites.google.com/site/zoteroscreenshots/citation-examples Thanks, Steve

fbennett: You nailed it! A lot of computer people like to portray themselves as genealogist and ride the wave to prosperity because a lot of money can be made in "digitizing" genealogy right now. But when they are really pressed to …

Evidence explained is 816 pages of style guides. I'll provide a few examples, but being the poor genealogist that I am I can only afford a little more time on this. I wished someone could pay me to do this and I'd be more than willing to help out mo…

ajlyon: I followed your link and it says: "This topic does not exist yet. You've followed a link to a topic that doesn't exist yet. If permissions allow, you may create it by using the Create this page button." What would be an exampl…

ajlyon: Sorry, just assumed that since you, Dan Stillman, and Adam Smith, seem to respond to a lot of discussions that you must be computer people. Even if you guys aren't computer people you sure seem to be able to speak computer language. …

AdamSmith: You said, "I have repeatedly offered in various threads to help write a citation style for genealogists, but no one has ever provided even the most basic information that would allow me to do that." Were you referring to your f…

Just got back from lunch and haven't tried the DP repair yet. Thought I'd respond to your comments before trying. Dan: Norton IPS was listed as an extension, but if I observed correctly, it is was disabled. I remember when I first upgraded Fire…

Thanks for responding. The only other extension (besides Zotero 2.1.1 and Zotero WinWord 3.1b1) is an enhanced image viewer from Ancestry.com than enables digital images to be seen. I disabled the Ancestry.com image viewer, which required Firef…

I started a similar discussion, but no response. So, I'll second this one. Sometimes, I even get a duplicated source showing in a collection that is supposed to have only one source. Then when toggling the duplicated source disappears. I'll try taki…

Other than a "Toggle Tab" issue, it seems fine. Some issues I had with the previous Zotero versions have been fixed. Not many people probably have to do this, but for one of my history clients I have to insert citations into an Excel spreadshe…

I also have to select "custom" the second time to load various Zotero libraries. Didn't have to do this extra step before Zotero 2.0.

Sean, When I visit "My Library" at Zotero.org, nothing shows up, just a big white screen with nothing showing, although it shows "done" at the bottom left hand side of the screen. The "storage" tab in my settings at Zotero.org shows "0". My cur…
