I do use track changes (a requirement by the journal during the review process). It seemed to happen more frequently when I was trying to add multiple references into a citation, I experimented a bit with that and usually it was the 4th or 5th one…

Thanks for letting me know, Adam! Just let me know when it is fixed - getting rid of the first name initials is really the most important thing, the journal might be able to do the bolding themselves..!

You might be right, I also checked a recently published paper in the journal and they indeed used the en-dash and not the hyphen as in the instructions for authors. I'll chance it and leave the en-dash. Thank you for your help with this!
