OK, thanks for the fast reply adamsmith

Well, I have a style but people keep asking me to change something in it and I find it very difficult to keep pulling something out of the group to modify only the one item type. The last time, I didn't notice that the [online] was being picked up f…

thank you dstillman.

It had each item type like entered individually, sort of like this. I only just entered a few things to show what I mean. Every if type is only one item type. …

Thank you bwiernik, I will check that out.

I just tried the link to get the syntax and documentation, but got a page not found error. Is there any way to get the syntax and explanation?

This thread dates back to 2012. I wonder if it is still up to date or if more has been done since then. Basically, I have a French Canadian locale style but within the same report, we often cite both French and English items. I was asked if it is po…

I also would really like to see an abbreviation field. When citing a law for instance, the government ministry is sometimes very long, 11 words long in some cases. It would be helpful to be able to program the abbreviation in the in-text citation an…

I'm looking in the references tab. I see APA, Chicago, GB7714, GOST (name sort and title sort), Harvard, IEEE, ISO 690, MLA, SYST02, Turabian

Yes, but there seem to be many places where the styles are stored. I put it in several different ones, but none of them seem to show up in Word C:\Program Files\Microsoft Office 15\root\office15\Bibliography\Style C:\Users\\AppData\Roaming\Microsoft…

I was able to save the file as suggested, but it gives me an error message: This XML file does not appear to have any style information associated with it. The document tree is shown below. It doesn't show up as a style in my Word references tab.

then it opens a window that looks like an internet window. If I try to save it to the bibliography style folder, I only have the choice of .mht or .htm or .html or .txt. I don't know how to save it as .xsl like the others in that folder

I have the same problem and found this page Last modified: 2017/11/19 07:30 by bwiernik https://www.zotero.org/support/kb/importing_formatted_bibliographies But I don't know how to download the file it is speaks about: 1. Download this Word bibliog…

OK, thanks for your help. When I look at it, I don't see anything wrong with it, but you never know. I'll try to download from the web using the DOI number

I just tried another one, and it is good like yours. EXAMPLE BIBLIOGRAPHY Ahlborg, U. .. et autres (1994). « Toxic Equivalency Factors for Dioxin-like PCBs: Report on WHO-ECEH and IPCS consultation », dans Chemosphere, vol. 28, no 6, p. 1049-1067. …

It's a journal article. I'm trying to find another reference that has a lot of authors to see if it gives the same result. I think I'll have to create a test one, can't find one in my library
-
I saved the style using the CSL Editor and loaded it into Zotero Standalone. Then put the reference in my Word document with the Zotero add-in putting the style in the preferences.

It's a French style. It gives me AHLBORG, U. .. et autres (1994). Toxic Equivalency Factors for Dioxin-like PCBs: Report on WHO-ECEH and IPCS consultation, vol. 28, p. 1049-1067.

bwiernik, maybe what I'm trying to do can't be done. The author of the style guide asked me that if an author name is very long, like in the case of some statutes or such, that the author name in the intext citation be in the long form in the first …

I'm using a style that I am presently coding. How would I code it in the style to make it Automatically abbreviate journal titles?
-
OK, thank you bwiernik, that worked. Now I'm searching for how to create a local JSON abbreviations list
-
Can someone please help me with this? When I download the abbreviation app, it asks me with which program to open it. I tried with the Zotero.exe, but nothing happens. Are there some installation instructions somewhere?

I'm wondering if Reviewed-Title is something we will be seeing in the near future. I can't see getting a proper output without it.
-
OK, great, thanks. I'll change my terms to labels for names.
-
I tested using a label with editorial-director and a term with editorial-director and they seem to give the same result. Not sure if it's better to use label or term in this type of instance.
-
Thank you very much adamsmith. I replaced my long list of locators with terms with a variation of the one posted by l2lafitte.
-
This brings up another question, are there any cases where the variable "locator" would be used in the bibliography, as opposed to in the inline citation?
