Good to hear that this will be added, though I know that "near (?) future" could be anything. Proposal. While we're not there yet, a good solution (if it can be done) would be to have the "Add item by identifier" function put the DOI in the "Extra…

Thanks. I'll leave Zotero open for longer and let it autosync. No you're right, I didn't copy anything — I just pointed Z Standalone to my existing data directory.

And after a restart: debug report D1028367900. I see many lines in the log related to the syncing of fulltext indexes. Could it be that the lag I'm getting on my system is due to the fact that those indexes are still not yet fully synced? In which …

Another error report: 554310383. Again with the "Update manifest ... did not contain an updates property". I have no internet connection problems whatsoever. Am on a stable wireless connection.

Okay I'll give it a try. Thanks!

In addition, on catalog pages (listing multiple entries), there is a recognisable list structure, as follows: http://langsci-press.org/catalog/series/sidl Forthcoming: Adjective attribution Michael Rießler (Author) 2014-09-19…

@adamsmith, yep, doing this in collections or in a saved search with up to 1000 items the problem does not occur. So it is a size issue then. I mentioned caching because it doesn't always happen. Firefox likely does some caching of the relevant ite…

I don't have very many bookmarks, so maybe the comparison isn't perfect, but FWIW, I don't get the problem in the bookmark manager. E.g. typing MPI quickly brings me to the bookmark MPI, while typing M, P, I more slowly brings me to bookmarks star…

Sorry, to be clear: I'm using a non-footnote, in-text citation style. Then within a text footnote, I insert an in-text citation. No problem so far. When I place the cursor within that citation (the field becoming grey), and I hit "edit citation", th…

Thanks, Dan!

journal websites often flag reviews in some way This is not enough information for translators (the pieces of code that recognise citations on pages) to make a useful stab at determining the status of some item as a review. If Pubmed has a clear and…

Exactly, just show her the APA style specifications and persuade her that it is meant to be like that. Changing professors is always recommended over changing styles :)

Okay marking topic as solved. I probly shouldn't be surprised as a longtime Z user, but I do find it counterintuitive that styles don't auto-update especially given that there also is no easy "update styles" option in Preferences/Styles tab. Do I…

Aha, that version works for me too. It seems, then, that (1) Mendeley may not have been working with the latest version (the colleague that pointed out the error is using Mendeley) and (2) my own copy of the style wasn't auto-updating.

Those are not mine, but this is another item that generates the problem for me: http://www.zotero.org/groups/csl_styles_development/items/itemKey/RUBNRZRI Reisman, Karl. 1974. Contrapuntal conversations in an Antiguan village.. In Richard Bauman &a…

I have sluggish performance too. Zotero becomes unresponsive for 2-15 seconds when adding new items for instance. From troubleshooting some time ago it seemed that the main reason was the fulltext indexing process. For a while I had fulltext indexin…

That's easy. Use a style that produces numbered references, like the Nature style. If you want more help, tell us more about what exactly you are trying to accomplish. What word processor are you using? What style have you selected currently? See h…

Okay, will do.

I was getting lots of crashes with 1.1. I turned of preemptive caching as directed, but that takes away most of the value of the app for me. I'm offline a lot and I would like to have a full copy of my library on my iPad for reading (and if necessar…

I agree and note that it is somewhat tantalizing to know that Zotero already has to be aware of this internally — the info just needs to be exposed to the advanced search...

Am I pushing this beyond supported limits? Perhaps I should go back to EndNote. I really prefer some functionality in Zotero, but it doesn't seem to be up to a library of this size (after culling, ~11,000 items currently). Just to note that there is…

It sounds like you're trying to accomplish something with collections that is better done with tags. Why not use a tag that binds together all the items that you want to have in this "same subcollection" across multiple collections?
-
Wheee! Thanks!
-
And to reiterate, all that's needed is an addition to the options that already exist. I can imagine some reticence in making this a default, because obviously for data mining and social purposes, tags are great and you'd want to have them in group…

Another bump, prompted by this.

Dutch, English, German.

Ah, okay, thanks gracile. I haven't tried that one.

See here for some tips. Basically, you want to go to the live reference test pane: chrome://zotero/content/tools/csledit.xul
