Okay, I have tested this using a demo login and it seems to work perfectly fine with Zotero. I think I'm going for it. WebDAV URL: http://demo.bingodisk.com/bingo/ login: demo@bingodisk.com password: bingo Note: if you want to test Bingodisk with …

Creating Citation Styles CSL syntax summary CSL schema Good luck! And please add your voice to this topic if you feel like it.

The page you link to says the following: If you use URLS containing local hard drive addresses (c:\folder\), then you cannot link to page numbers or set destinations. With Adobe Acrobat 7.0 products, a link to a page number only works if you use HTT…

You could actually use multiple database files. Unfortunately, you do have to restart Firefox when switching from one database to another. Here's how: in your file manager, create a number of folders (e.g. D:\Zotero\Medicine\, D:\Zotero\Politics\,…

It is supposed to be, yes. (Publication types like the ones you suggest are not available for the item type 'journal article'.) I agree that this is probably not the clearest translation. 'Journal' or 'Zeitschrift' might be better.
-
What do you mean by 'open a Word document in text'? Opening a text file attached to a record? What application are you opening the text file in?
-
Bumping this. I've seen a few new CSL-related topics sprinkled across the other categories. If Zotero is going to crowd-source the making of styles, let's make sure we have a dedicated forum.
-
Are you using Word? Try to use formatting styles to control the layout, instead of applying font sizes directly to stretches of text.
-
Does it help if I would create sort of a proof of concept in semantically sound XHTML+CSS?
-
Jkaluza, have you seen this thread? Is the style you're working on it similar to AAA in that respect?
-
Ah, it is: ID 415502398 [JavaScript Error: "[Exception... "'Zotero.CSL.Item called to wrap a non-item' when calling method: [nsIStreamListener::onDataAvailable]" nsresult: "0x8057001e (NS_ERROR_XPC_JS_THREW_STRING)" location: "" data: no]"]

Bumping this for the Zotero devs - there is a whole set of styles like this for which Zotero currently cannot properly generate bibliographies. As Bruce says he'd need "some commitment from implementers like Zotero to implement it before adding it…
-
Okay, I first read into your suggestion that this would be based on the contents of the library, but it needn't be of course. If it's based on my most frequent choices from the New item menu it's fine of course. Agree with you about need to avoid in…

Temporarily disable your tags pane and see if that makes it possible to resize Zotero.
-
Bruce: not neccesarily. My library might consist for 80% of journal articles saved automatically from repositories, but letters and the like I usually have to add by hand. So personal customization would seem to be better in this case.

Makes sense (sort of) in hindsight, but are users to know this? I suspect lots of users will use the Conference paper item for, well, conference papers, whether they appeared in proceedings or not. For those users, most styles won't give the right o…

Noksagt, I have TortoiseSVN on my PC, but I'm a bit at a loss as to where to upload the styles I've made.
-
It's Translators (and jbrune or a moderator can move it to the right category).
-
So where should translators be putting the total number of pages? It is pretty important in some cases, and some types of bibliographies. Does CSL recognize the difference?
-
Aha - are you saying that 'conference paper' is reserved for papers that have actually appeared in proceedings, and 'presentation' for (1) presentations outside of conferences and (2) papers on conferences that didn't appear in proceedings?
-
Thanks!

I've also run into this problem. Bruce's suggestions and erazlogo's ticket seem to be a good way to address this. However, I note that Sean Takats links to another ticket (relying on yet another one), and these were last modified 22 months ago. Base…

Moreover it seems that events (i.e. items that have conference name set) currently are somehow mapped to the 'chapter' event type. This is annoying if you're citing a paper qua conference paper (i.e. not the proceedings version, which does not even …

Adding my voice to this.

Related to this issue is the recurring wish for a meaningful folder structure for attachments. The more general problem underlying both issues is that the attachment system could use a little revamping, with more options for different approaches to …
-
Agreed about the snapshots. These issues are related to the more general problem that the attachment system could use a little revamping. I've pointed out another use case related to this: Multiple records, one (physical) attachment.

Can I bump this? There seems to be no sign of shared collections in the latest Sync Preview. Will this be in 1.5; if so, in what form; if not, when can we expect this killer feature for academic collaboration?
-
Exactly, there should just be a couple of options in the preferences for this: 1. When dragging and dropping attachments from file manager, either (A) make a copy or (B) make a link 2. if 1A = true, either (A) use a meaningless flat folder structur…

Ah, the publisher-place was a copy/paste error. Second, this looks to me like Zotero needs to add the appropriate mappings (ASAP), and so you're not doing anything wrong. Good. But if there is a mapping, either I need some sort of conditional to in…
