For the record, I have no problem running DTA 1.1.0 together with the latest Zotero 1.5 sync preview on FF 3.0.5, Windows XP. I also have my Zotero library outside of the FF profile folder. So one workaround for you might be to update to the Zotero…

I second this motion. I've been asking for input from the Zotero devs since I first came across the problem (Nov 2008), but so far only Bruce d'Arcus has commented, saying that he needs to see some commitment from the Zotero devs before this is goin…

Posting it to SVN to make it more widely available might be a good idea, but it's still quite an ugly workaround, so I think this should be noted in the title. I'm calling it ugly because the indentation is still no real indentation of course; and…

The fact that formatting is lost is really disappointing, but it is a problem on EndNote®'s end. If the export from EndNote® doesn't include this information to begin with, there is nothing Zotero can do. By all means notify the makers of EndNote®…

I would also be happy if it worked on authors.

I do the same thing as you, Madigania. It's a lot easier to back up. In fact, I've put my Zotero folder on a shared network drive so that I can even use it on other machines (this will no longer be needed if the final Sync version comes around).

My library contains just under 2000 items, with the attachments amounting to 4Gb (mainly PDFs, some of them very large). So far I have not experienced speed problems in 1.5 Sync Preview (Firefox 3.0.5). However, deleting an item from the library doe…

Besides, the latest Sync previews are very stable anyway. I've published a peer-reviewed paper very recently using Zotero 1.5 Sync Preview.

Interesting service. That website is in effect an online version of Zotero's snapshot function. (Off topic: strangely, they allow for recursive snapshots (i.e. a snapshot of a snapshot).)

Looks good, except for the whitespace between refs, which is probably generated by the current workaround to solve the one author, multiple refs problem (the subsequent-author is substituted by a space, but still takes up its own line due to being s…

Specifically, this thread describes the unsolved problems that will not allow AAA styles and derivatives to be perfect. To have (1) the author mentioned only once and (2) a tab before and after the data, requires changes on the CSL and Zotero side.
-
Could the problem be that your Zotero window is not high enough to display more of the note? The toolbar already takes up some space, so you might try resizing the Zotero window upwards.
-
I don't know how much of a difference the number of files really makes. There's obviously some overhead in the separate request headers, but total file size probably has much more of an effect. In my experience, the number of files makes a huge diff…

I, too, want to add another voice to this. We can already bring some organization to our notes using tags, but displaying notes without their parents intervening all the time would just be very helpful.
-
Right-click the collection and select 'Export Collection...'.
-
It does matter insofar as the GUI suggests something different than what is happening. Note how the blue horizontal line is indented when dragging sth between a parent and a child; and that it is unindented (i.e. at parent level) when dragging betwe…

Does right-click > duplicate item help for the last part of your question?

Ah, you mean the sorting inside 'multiple sources' citations. This has been raised several times (1, 2, 3, 4). The latter topic indicates that the way of sorting is actually dependent on the style you select - as the desired sorting behaviour is oft…
-
I had the same problem, and for me it was linked to my Firefox version - i.e. it works for me in FF3.0.5 but not in 3.0.
-
Check tip #8 of 12 must know Zotero tips and techniques.
-
Actually this is fully dependent on the citation style you're using as long as you've got the data alright. Click on 'author' to change it into 'editor' for the editors, and allmost all styles will list the author as author and the editors as editor…

I'll add my vote to this series of sensible GUI requests. It seems to me these interface-related issues are among the most frequent feature requests made around here.
-
This is a common request. See Zotero as a Tab, Zotero vertical, GUI requests, sidebar, and lots of other topics. One of the developers has commented in the latter topic: We're planning to abstract the Zotero interface so that it can be used in vario…

Are you talking about sorting the citations in a bibliography to a document, or about sorting in your Zotero library? If the latter, there is a 'Date Added' column available in the middle pane - right click the small button right next to the column …

I just updated to FF3.0.5 and the problem is gone.
-
Just a note for who's reading this topic and wondering about its status: there is WYSIWYG editing of notes since the Sync Preview version of Zotero.
-
Stan, I've migrated over to the latest Sync Preview version a while ago and in my experience it's perfectly stable. I'm not on Mac/Word2008 so I cannot comment on the Word plugin for that version though.
-
I also cannot edit it despite being logged in in Dokuwiki via the above approach. I can see a hidden edit button in the source — I guess accounts have to be given editing rights before they can actually edit. However I remember that I have been able…

Agreed. HTML export should have an option for 'export including attachments'. Would be beautiful for smoothly creating online bibliographies.
