I think I am probably doing what some people are doing, and using the sync version of Zotero to share a library with my colleagues. I know this isn't what sync is meant for, but we are a global team so there is enough time zone difference that it doesn't really matter. When the group sharing version comes out, it would be nice to make it an option to get an alert or note whenever a new reference is added - preferably when you sync, rather than by e-mail. We are getting set up so that a handful of scientists monitor new references using PubMed and Google alerts and put them in a staging folder, one team of scientists will review the article and make tags, notes, etc., then once the reference is approved, the citation and pdf will be moved to the appropriate folder for our colleagues who will need to have regular access.
